For every dedicated Pinoy runner powering through daily hustle, the new Skechers AERO Razor™ has arrived

Designed to keep up with every Pinoy’s fast-paced and “tara, takbo” lifestyle,  the new Skechers AERO Razor™delivers that high-performance feel serious runners look for on every run.

Whether you’re logging long miles before sunrise, squeezing in tempo runs after work, or tackling intense interval sessions on the road, every stride calls for dependable performance. For serious runners who value speed, responsiveness, and lightweight comfort built for rigorous training, a new contender has entered the scene: the all-new Skechers AERO Razor™.

Designed with an ultra-light feel, the shoe draws inspiration from the iconic and award-winning Skechers Razor 3, a favorite among runners since 2018. Building on what athletes loved about the original, the new AERO Razor™ elevates the experience with upgrades tailored for today’s performance-driven lifestyle.

Lightweight but Powerful

One of the standout features of the Skechers AERO Razor™ is how light it feels on foot. If you’re wondering how light it really is, well, we’re talking only 196g for men’s size 9 and 159g for women’s size 7. Basically, it’s the kind of shoe that feels incredibly light from the very first step, helping athletic runners move fast and stay agile without feeling weighed down.

Additionally, this shoe packs serious performance tech engineered for runners who want comfort without sacrificing speed. At its core is Skechers’ Hyper Burst Pro™ Super Critical Foam™ cushioning, which gives runners a responsive, energetic ride. Concurrently, the patented H-wing forefoot design also helps create a snappier toe-off, keeping an effortless push-off when you pick up the pace.

Built for Real-Life Pinoy Movement

For many Pinoy runners, especially serious ones logging in their consistent 10k steps and squeezing in a run before work or after a long day, it’s not just about pace—it’s about adapting to the chaos of everyday roads.  And let’s be honest, with Manila’s streets rarely giving runners a “perfect track” moment, every jog often turns into a mix of cracked sidewalks, uneven pavement, sudden potholes, and the occasional detour around busy intersections or parked tricycles.

That’s where the Skechers AERO Razor™ comes in.

With its Arch Fit® technology and podiatrist-certified arch support, it’s designed for people who are constantly on the move. So whether you’re powering through an early morning run in BGC-like concrete stretches or navigating the rougher, more unpredictable sidewalks in residential barangays, it helps support your feet. This makes those longer runs feel more manageable and less punishing on the arches.

At the same time, the Hyper Arc™ technology encourages a smoother, more efficient stride. Instead of feeling like you’re fighting the terrain, it helps you glide forward with a more natural, effortless motion.

Even the base layer was built with real-world conditions in mind, as the Goodyear® Rubber outsole enhances traction and stability. Amazingly, this feature makes you focus less on where you step and more on the run itself.

Ready to Test Your Next Running Fave?

The complete Skechers AERO lineup, featuring the new AERO Razor™, will be available beginning May 24, 2026 at Skechers Philippines and selected specialty athletic retailers. Check out the all-new AERO Razor™ at participating Skechers stores near you and take your running experience to the next level.

JCI Manila Brings Color, Community, and Mental Health Advocacy Together at ColorFest 2026

JCI Manila has partnered with the Philippine Mental Health Association (PMHA) and Hyve Sports PH to launch the JCI Manila ColorFest Carnival Run for Mental Health, a community run that will help fund the construction of the PMHA Wellness Center, a dedicated space for counseling, mental health support, and wellness programs.

Set on May 31, 2026 at the SM Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City, the ColorFest Carnival Run aims to bring together thousands of participants in a vibrant celebration of movement, community, and advocacy while highlighting the connection between physical activity and mental wellbeing. Participants may register at jcimanilacolorrun.com.

Proceeds from the run will support the construction of the PMHA Wellness Center, which will transform an unfinished area within the PMHA compound into a dedicated space for mental health care. The facility will include counseling and group therapy spaces, light-filled therapy rooms, a healing garden and meditation area, and a calm environment for mental wellness programs. The center is envisioned as a safe haven for individuals seeking support, healing, and guidance.

For JCI Manila President Edison Ke, the initiative reflects the organization’s commitment to service and community development.

“JCI Manila carries out around 400 community projects every year, supported by more than 600 members committed to service,” Ke said. “Physical health and mental health are closely connected. Through initiatives like this, we want to remind people that while we often focus on physical fitness, mental health is equally important.”

Anton Laborte, Project Chairman of the JCI Manila ColorFest Carnival Run, said the event goes beyond a traditional fun run.

“ColorFest Carnival is a movement that brings people together to remind everyone that mental health matters and that no one should face struggles alone. We invite everyone to run with us — run with purpose and run for mental health,” Laborte said.

The Philippine Mental Health Association, the event’s main beneficiary, welcomed the initiative as an important platform to expand awareness and support services.

“This is a powerful opportunity to reach more people and raise awareness about both physical and mental health, which are both essential to overall wellbeing,” said Dr. Carolina Uno-Rayco, National Executive Director of PMHA.

Meanwhile, PMHA President Arch. Mariano Arce Jr. emphasized the importance of creating spaces that support healing.

“Mental wellness requires spaces where people can relax, reflect, meditate, and reconnect with nature,” Arce said, referring to the upcoming PMHA Wellness Center.

The JCI Manila ColorFest Carnival Run for Mental Health will feature a vibrant course filled with bursts of color, music, and carnival-inspired elements designed for both seasoned runners and first-time participants.

As preparations continue for the May 31 run, organizers are inviting Filipinos from all walks of life to take part — because every step taken brings the community closer to building a space where healing, support, and hope can flourish. The initiative is supported by various partners helping amplify awareness and encourage broader community participation, including Punto Consultancy as PR-CSR partner.

Participants are encouraged to run with purpose — for themselves, for their community, and for mental health.

TECNO, the AI-powered technology brand, and Lonely Planet, the internationally renowned travel guide authority, have officially launched the co-hosted Shot On CAMON Contest 2026, marking the third installment of TECNO’s annual global photography competition.Built on a mutual passion for exploration and creativity, the partnership broadens the contest’s focus beyond technology to highlight the people, destinations, and stories captured in every photograph. Through collaborative judging, co-branded initiatives, and photo essay-inspired storytelling, TECNO and Lonely Planet hope to encourage users worldwide to discover more, connect more deeply, and create more compelling visual narratives. As part of the collaboration, three Lonely Planet photographers will showcase original images captured using the CAMON 50 Series, while one photographer from the travel brand will join TECNO’s imaging team on the final-round judging panel.

“Great photos are not just about equipment – they are about how deeply the photographer can immerse themselves in a destination,” said Melissa Killian, Vice President of Integrated Marketing at Lonely Planet. “TECNO’s technology makes that immersion easier, helping users stay present, observe more closely and capture meaningful moments as they happen. We are excited to partner on Shot On CAMON Contest 2026 and look forward to seeing how photographers around the world bring their journeys to life.”

Under the theme “Seeing is Believing,” this year’s contest runs from May 15 to October 11, 2026, inviting smartphone photographers worldwide to capture real, beautiful and unrepeatable moments using the TECNO CAMON 50 Series. In a year increasingly shaped by AI, the theme is TECNO’s call to celebrate the authenticity of real life through photography, honoring diverse skin tones, fleeting emotions, and real-world observations. Even the contest’s AI category starts with a real photograph, encouraging users to start from authentic observation and personal expression.

TECNO Philippines Welcomes Kelvinmarkulit as CAMON Photography Ambassador
To further ignite local passion for authentic mobile photography, TECNO Philippines has appointed Kelvinmarkulit  – a highly respected Filipino visual storyteller known for his raw, unfiltered depictions of everyday Filipino life – as the official CAMON Photography Ambassador for the Philippine leg of the contest. Kelvin will play a multi-faceted role: from co-creating a call-out video that rallies Filipino creators to join the competition, to serving as a regional judge in selecting the country’s most compelling entries, and joining the exclusive winner’s journey. His partnership with TECNO goes beyond a celebrity endorsement; it is a powerful signal to Filipino photography enthusiasts that local stories, captured with honesty and heart, can stand on a global stage. Kelvin’s own journey – from shooting candid street moments to earning international recognition – inspires a new generation to believe that with observation, emotion, and the right tool, anyone can transform the ordinary into the unforgettable.

Five Creative Categories That Celebrate New Ways of Seeing

The five categories of Shot On CAMON Contest 2026 are designed to inspire different ways of seeing, encouraging participants to capture real moments, emotions and perspectives from everyday life and travel.

  • FacesUnfiltered– This category celebrates authentic portraits that reflect people as they really are, capturing diverse skin tones and individuality in a quiet close-up, a candid street portrait, or a moment shared between friends.
  • NightUnveiled– This category invites participants to capture the atmosphere, mystery and emotion that emerge after dark, from neon-lit streets and reflections after rain to still moonlit scenes and late-night city life.
  • CultureUnscripted– This category focuses on capturing the rhythm of a place as it naturally unfolds, whether through festivals, crafts, food moments or unplanned interactions between people.
  • SnapshotUnspotted (Telephoto Special)– Participants are invited to capture distant details that reveal something surprising, intimate or easily overlooked, from textures on far-off peaks to a fleeting expression within a crowd.
  • AIUnimagined (AI Gallery Special)– First capture a real-world photo with a TECNO phone, then transform it into an artistic style using TECNO’s AI Gallery. Both the original photograph and the AI-styled image must be submitted together. This category is designed to explore how AI can extend creative expression while keeping real-world photography as the starting point.

“‘Seeing is Believing’ is both a creative brief for our contestants and a reminder that the most powerful images begin with real life,” said Jack Guo, General Manager of TECNO. “Through Shot On CAMON Contest 2026, we hope to inspire users around the world to observe more closely, express themselves more freely and celebrate the beauty of authentic moments through photography.”

Additionally, there will be five winners for the Gold Prize ($3,000), five winners for the Silver Prize ($2,000), and five winners for the Bronze Prize ($1,000). The breakdown is as follows: five winners from image submissions (across any of the five contest categories) and one winner from video submissions. Creating Shared Value: Concepcion goes beyond 100% plastic offsetting while supporting livelihood opportunities in local communities

Concepcion empowers the Aling Tinderas in local communitiesto lead the change against plastic pollution in partnership with PCX

Concepcion Industrial Corporation, the country’s leading provider of home and enterprise solutions, continues to advance responsible corporate citizenship by demonstrating that sustainability should create impact beyond business operations. Through its subsidiaries—Concepcion Carrier Air Conditioning Company, Concepcion-Durables, Inc., Concepcion Midea Inc. Philippines, and Cortex Technologies Corporation—the group successfully diverted a total of 885,000 kilograms of plastic waste over the past year.

This annual achievement underscores CIC’s proactive approach to environmental  stewardship. In partnership with PCX, CIC has moved past standard environmental  compliance. This collaboration ensures that for every kilogram of plastic the company  produces, an equivalent or greater amount is recovered, processed into reusable materials or  energy, and reintegrated into the country’s circular economy. With this milestone, CIC proudly  stands among a select group of companies that consistently achieve and exceed the plastic  offsetting mandates set by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

Concepcion Industrial Corporation Sustainability Champions. at the 2025 PCX PULSE Sustainability Conferenc

While the environmental metrics are significant, the true measure of CIC’s initiative lies in its  grassroots social impact. Central to this mission is the Aling Tindera network, an initiative that  transforms everyday sari-sari stores into community collection hubs. Over 107,000 kilograms  of the total diverted waste were recovered directly from local neighborhoods through this  program. This initiative does more than clear plastic from the streets and oceans; it builds  economic resilience by empowering women micro-entrepreneurs to lead environmental  awareness in their communities while generating sustainable, supplemental income.

For many of these women, participating in this “waste-to-cash” ecosystem has provided a  tangible pathway to financial stability and growth. Aling Belen, a program partner, highlighted  how the initiative secures her family’s future: “Dinadala ko po siya sa pangangailangan ng  aking mga anak sa eskwela (I use this for my children’s school needs).”

In just one week, our site is full because so many people sell us plastic bottles and  sachets. We’ve since been able to establish a school supplies store. Without Aling Tindera,  we wouldn’t have been able to expand our business).”

These initiatives illustrate Concepcion Industrial Corporation’s wider sustainability agenda in action. By combining large-scale investments in recycling systems with community empowerment efforts, recovered plastic waste is transformed into reusable materials that support a circular economy and help reduce the amount of plastic ending up in landfills and oceans.

Through these integrated programs, CIC shows that responsible manufacturing goes beyond reducing environmental impact—it is about generating shared value. Each kilogram of plastic diverted reflects not only a healthier environment but also improved livelihood opportunities for Filipino families.

Filipino Violinist-Singer Muri Represents the Philippines at Focus Wales 2026 as the Country’s Sole Act on the AXEAN Stage

Muri performs alongside artists from Malaysia and Indonesia, bringing Filipino neo-soul and indie pop to one of Europe’s leading international music showcase festivals

Filipino violinist and singer-songwriter Muri (Muriel Gonzales) made her Focus Wales debut on May 16, 2026, performing on the festival’s AXEAN Stage as the sole representative of the Philippines. Joining artists from Malaysia and Indonesia on the AXEAN showcase — a curated spotlight on Southeast Asian music within the festival — Muri brought her signature blend of violin swells, neo-soul vocals, and introspective songwriting to the stages of Wrexham, North Wales.

Now in its 16th edition, Focus Wales is one of the world’s leading international music showcase festivals, welcoming over 22,000 attendees and featuring 250+ artists across 20 stages. Supported by the Arts Council of Wales, the Welsh Government, and the PRS Foundation, it is consistently recognised as one of the most important launching pads for emerging international talent in the UK and Europe — having previously earned the Best Music Festival for Emerging Talent award at the UK Festival Awards.

The AXEAN Stage appearance marks the latest milestone in an expanding global run for Muri, who has spent the past year building a presence on the international circuit. In early 2025, she performed at SXSW Austin as the Philippines’ sole representative — a debut that drew coverage from Mega Magazine, Billboard Philippines, and others. This was followed by performances at Bangkok Music City 2025 in Thailand, where she was one of the Philippine acts on the bill.

“It makes me proud to be representing the Philippines on such a global stage, along with representation from the rest of South East Asia. It’s not often we come together as a united front from the region, but that’s the beauty of it – bringing people together through music and showcasing what SEA has to offer to the world”, said Muri.

A member of Manila’s beloved indie folk group The Ransom Collective, Muri has forged a parallel solo career built around the interplay of her voice and violin. Her single “Letters” earned nominations for Wishclusive Contemporary R&B Performance of the Year at the Wish Awards 2022, and Favorite Female Artist at the 35th Awit Awards — the Philippines’ answer to the Grammys. Her collaboration with producer LUSTBASS on a remix of her track “Thunder” received a Best Remix Recording nomination at the 36th Awit Awards.

With a growing fanbase and milestones in Asia, Europe, and the UK — Muri is steadily building the kind of global profile that few Filipino independent artists have achieved. Her Focus Wales appearance adds another significant marker to that journey, planting the Philippine flag firmly in the European music conversation.

At the core of Wonder Society is a structured learning framework that introduces children to experiences across multiple disciplines. Creative workshops include clay modeling, origami, baking, product design, and early exposure to 3D printing. Science-based activities encourage exploration through hands-on experiments, sensory water play, and the use of guided learning tools such as microscopes. Life skills sessions extend into practical areas like sewing, candle making, table setting, and motor development activities.

Younger children are introduced to foundational stimulation through baby classes centered on movement, sound, and sensory engagement. For older age groups, programs expand into entrepreneurship and leadership, covering basic financial literacy, negotiation, product costing, and simulation-based learning. Complementing these are values-based sessions focused on social interaction, etiquette, confidence-building, and character development.

Built around the idea of making “wonder” a meaningful part of everyday family life instead of a rare occasion, Wonder Society encourages families to pause, connect more intentionally, and create lasting moments through shared experiences.

With its opening, Wonder Society introduces a unique concept to Manila’s family and lifestyle scene by combining purposeful developmental play with a carefully curated social environment.
