Allianz PNB Life Partnered with Reach52 to Launch Allianz Kaagapay

Allianz PNB Life recently collaborated with award-winning social enterprise Reach52 to launch a new corporate social responsibility project called Allianz Kaagapay, which aims to promote the importance of inclusivity in insurance in the country, especially in the underserved rural communities.

Alexander Grenz, President & CEO, Allianz PNB Life

Alexander Grenz, Allianz PNB Life President and CEO said, “Most of those who do not have insurance are from the most vulnerable areas of the country. Through our partnership with Reach52, we aim to provide these communities the protection they need during these challenging times.”

Reach52 was founded in 2016 and has been providing screening, health worker training, affordable medicines, insurance, diagnostics and consumer health products in rural regions that existing services don’t reach. They achieved this through establishing health systems and services, powered by mobile apps and tech platforms, a community-based workforce, and partnerships with the public and private sector.

Additionally, Reach52 will be providing PhP25,000 worth of life insurance through Allianz Kaagapay, which includes COVID-19 coverage to its members for every purchase of an Allianz Well! insurance product from August 1 to December 20, 2020. The first beneficiaries of the insurance package are the members from Pototan and Cuartero, Iloilo.

Edward Booty, Founder and CEO, Reach52

“Our members are essential in our goal of extending primary care to the 52% of the world’s population who still lack access to essential health services. They are our access managers, the ones who help us fill the gap in the healthcare system in remote rural communities. We thank Allianz PNB Life for providing this support to our members,” said Edward Booty, Founder and CEO of Reach52.

Allianz PNB Life’s Allianz Well! is a health insurance product that has an annual plan limit of up to PhP100 million. It covers COVID19 hospitalization and ICU expenses up to the plan limit to support PhilHealth and HMO coverages. Other coverage also includes access to expert medical advice, 24/7 tele-consultation, health screening, dental services, physical activity programs, and nutrition counseling.

“Allianz continue to provide clients with insurance products that cater to the full needs of our customers across the various stages of their lives. In this crucial and uncertain times, we want our customers to have peace of mind knowing that Allianz cares for them and we are here to keep our promise that they can rely on us when things go wrong,” said Grenz.

Prior to Allianz Kaagapay, Allianz PNB Life launched Project Sanlahi, another project aimed at inclusivity, which through the sport of obstacle course racing and financial literacy, seeks to empower indigenous youths in Pampanga.

Filipinos are now more eager to widen their knowledge on General Nutrition; as revealed by Herbalife Nutrition

Dr. Chin-Kun Wang, President, International Society for Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods

Premiere global nutrition company helped in revealing that Filipinos are now ready and much more eager to learn more about General Nutrition Knowledge. On a survey done last March 2020, to respondents from Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam, it has been showed how Filipinos have nutritional knowledge gap which is relatively important in determining how they value factors that greatly affects their health.

On misconceptions, majority (85%) of Filipinos believed that a person needs adequate calcium intake regardless of age to optimize peak bone mass for bone condition. On the contrary, the peak bone mass is reliant on calcium intake and reaches its peak when a person is at the age of 30. On the other hand it has been revealed that enough calcium intake in life can lessen the risk of Osteoporosis.

It is a good thing that when it comes to fats, 68% of Filipinos are right about its job in providing human body with energy, while it’s a bit sad that only 42% acknowledge the fact that fats support the body in absorbing vitamins.

Sridhar Rajagopalan, Senior Director, Sub-Region Head, and General Manager of Herbalife Nutrition Philippines

“Exercise is the key!”, says the 80% of Filipinos who appropriately answered that exercising helps the body in rebuilding muscles and in increasing lean muscles. Sadly, 51% falsely believed that protein powder can’t be a healthy source of protein as compared to protein served by natural foods. Sridhar Rajagopalan, Senior Director, Sub-Region Head, and General Manager of Herbalife Nutrition Philippines, shared that protein powder from high-quality sources can be as good as protein from natural foods. Likewise soy protein from soybeans, it is still a complete protein, which can provide a full range of nine essential amino acids as needed by the human body.

It is truer now as it shows that Filipinos strongly believe in the power of Vitamin C and fruits in helping the body boost immunity and resistance to different types of infections as 94% of them had correct answers of that.

Above all the information about the accuracy of their knowledge on nutrition, 47% of Filipino consumers believed in the importance of being educated with necessary nutrition knowledge and that 39% said that misleading myths and misinformation that is found online prevents them from having accurate nutrition knowledge.

The data extracted to present the results were from the Quiz taken as part of Asia Pacific Nutrition Myths Survey, Rajagopalan said that the result of the quiz and the survey show that there is a significant nutrition knowledge gap among Filipinos and that their anticipation, interest and acknowledgement on the importance of balanced nutrition gave them hope to help close the gap, at the same time empower Filipinos with nutrition knowledge they need to make better nutrition choices. He said that this was a good sign and the only next thing to do is to help them achieve that.

It is a relief that there is a company, Herbalife Nutrition, that has always been producing high-quality and science-hacked products which changes people’s lives and health since 1980. With great nutrition products and business opportunities given to their members, they create an environment of customers who embrace a more vigorous and healthier lives.

Are you planning to start a home business or just a working from home. Start new venture especially now that we’re experiencing pandemic and we need to stay at home. And majority of us love food, with that you can start a work from home business from your kitchen.

If you’re looking for ways to augment your income during these challenging times, you don’t need to look farther than your kitchen to start a business. As you may have observed, many Filipinos have already started putting up their own little ventures by offering something that we all love—food.

The Vice President for Finance and Marketing of Hanabishi Philippines, Ms. Cherish Ong-Chua. Hanabishi is one of the leading home appliances in the country and paved the way for its tagline “Kapartner from Start to Forever.” Ms. Chua graduated with a degree of Marketing at De La Salle University- Taft and being a homemaker she would like to share some tips on how to start your home business in the midst of pandemic. From ube pandesal to baked sushi, to new twists to fries and cheesecakes, our enterprising kababayans have shown their resiliency and inventiveness through these food ventures.

If you’d like to start a home business from your kitchen, here are some tips that may help you in establishing one:

  1. Think of the product you want to offer.

Are you or someone in your family good in baking or cooking? Capitalize on your skill and passion in determining the product you want to offer.

  1. Know your target market.

Ask yourself if the product you’d like to put out there has a market. Food, for one, can have an immediate market—your family, colleagues, and friends.

  1. Make your product worth your customers’ money.

Of course it goes without saying that you have to ensure that the items you sell should satisfy your customers. Offer products that they will like so that they can tell their other friends and relatives about it. This way, more people will be interested in your products.

  1. Invest in good equipment.

If you’re going to pursue a business in food, make sure that you have quality equipment. At Hanabishi, we have a range of products that can help you with your cooking and baking needs. broilers, grillers, fryers, and electric cookers. For those who are into baking, we have our mixers, food processors, ovens, and more.

  1. Make it more convenient for customers to purchase your products.

For example, most businesses have gone online these days and customers can easily buy the product of their choice and have it delivered safely and securely to their home. We have been running our e-commerce site for about two years now and with the new conditions dictated by the pandemic, we had to review its system and implement the necessary updates in its features to address the anticipated influx of online shoppers. Our customers can now easily place an order with just a few clicks and taps on their computers and mobile devices. Likewise, we are now offering them the option to have their products delivered or picked up from our warehouse.

  1. Set up a Facebook or Instagram account.

Most Filipinos are social media users and being on FB and IG makes you more visible to them. In fact, according to a recent Nielsen Home panel Tack-on survey, 49 percent of Filipinos who shop groceries online prefer Facebook. In making your goods available through these social media apps, make sure that you take good photos. Food, most especially, need to look delicious and enticing to attract customers.

  1. Be forward-looking.

Expect challenges to come your way and make sure you keep up with consumers’ changing behavior. It’s not easy, but with hard work and foresight, success will come your way.
