Globe-backed social entrepreneurs The Spark Project and Virtualahan are included in the Singtel Group Future Makers 2025 Impact Report

A regional study commemorating 10 years of tech-driven social innovation, the Singtel Group Future Makers (SGFM) 2025 Impact Report highlighted two Philippine businesses supported by Globe: Virtualahan and The Spark Project.

The Spark Project, which helps entrepreneurs create sustainable businesses, and Virtualahan,  the nation’s first disability-centered social company, are two examples of SGFM alumni that demonstrate how technology can meet community needs while fostering business expansion.

Launched in 2015, SGFM has become a regional platform supporting 85 start-ups through grants, mentorship, and ecosystem access, benefiting over 24 million people across 11 countries through initiatives in education, healthcare, mental health, environment, agriculture, waste management, and inclusion.1 In 2017, Globe adopted this in the Philippines when it launched its Globe Future Makers (GFM) program to empower startups that use technology to address societal challenges. GFM provides these startups with essential resources such as mentorship, marketing assistance, and networking opportunities. The program aims to cultivate an ecosystem of social innovators who leverage technology to create positive change, aligning with the Singtel Group of Companies’ broader social innovation initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region.

As a major telecommunications conglomerate based in Singapore that provides a wide range of services across Asia, Australia, and Africa, Singtel is concluding the current format of the Future Makers program in the region after a successful ten-year run, citing a more mature social innovation ecosystem with growing government and corporate support.

“Moving forward, we will focus on working with alumni ventures to help drive their expansion and build stronger collaboration,” said Andrew Buay, VP for Group Sustainability at Singtel.

Virtualahan first gained recognition as one of the startups that won the Globe Future Makers (GFM) in 2017, while The Spark Project partnered with Globe for GFM 2019. Both later represented the Philippines for the regional SGFM network.

“Through our partnership with SGFM, we had the opportunity to support Filipino social enterprises in their journey to expand their impact and contribute to positive change in the communities they serve,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer.

Virtualahan illustrates this pathway by equipping persons with disabilities, vulnerable youth, solo parents, recovering addicts, persons deprived of liberty, and displaced workers with digital skills training and support programs that open up access to livelihood and long-term reintegration.

Since completing the 2017 GFM and SGFM cohorts, Virtualahan has trained 1,267 persons with disabilities, with a 66% employment rate and a 25% income increase among graduates. It has increased annual revenues by approximately 300% and incubated two spin-off businesses.

“The exposure, learning, and endorsement we received from SGFM and Globe helped boost our credibility as a pioneering social enterprise in the local disability space,” said Ryan Gersava, founder of Virtualahan.

The Spark Project, originally a crowdfunding platform for creative ventures, evolved after its GFM and SGFM experience into an entrepreneur-support organization that has assisted over 135 enterprises, channelled Php25.5 million into impact projects, and deployed a Php16.6 million loan fund.

“By connecting us with a wider network of mentors, collaborators, and supporters, GFM and SGFM enabled us to build stronger programs that support Filipino creatives and social entrepreneurs,” said Patch Dulay, founder of The Spark Project.

Collaborating with Globe, both groups launched impactful thematic programs. Virtualahan, for instance, connected persons with disabilities, displaced workers, and out-of-school youth to the internet, enabling their participation in the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s Digital Jobs PH upskilling programs in 2021. Meanwhile, the Spark Project teamed up with Globe for Spark Fest 2018 and 2019, creating a dedicated space where individuals passionate about social causes can find inspiration, learn, and connect with creative founders, thought leaders, and other aspiring entrepreneurs, demonstrating how telco infrastructure can amplify civic impact.

Through digital innovation, strategic collaboration, and regional alliances, Globe is dedicated to supporting Philippine businesses that use technology to solve urgent social issues and promote sustainable growth.

Delaware Philippines and NutriAsia Collaborate on a Revolutionary SAP Migration Project

The manufacturer of the Philippines’ best condiments and sauces successfully achieved a high-impact digital transformation with delaware Philippines.

The leading producer of sauces and condiments in the Philippines, NutriAsia, has effectively moved its primary SAP system to the cloud using RISE with SAP, a thorough transformation process designed to assist businesses in moving to cloud ERP and using the capabilities of SAP Business Suite. This is a significant initiative in NutriAsia’s history, working with Delaware Philippines, an official SAP Partner in the Philippines and a worldwide supplier of cutting-edge ICT solutions.

NutriAsia, one of the fastest-growing FMCG companies in the Philippines, needed to upgrade its enterprise system to support its current and future growth, particularly as it adjusts to changing customer and consumer trends and expectations. The company has a complex sales and distribution operation across over 100 markets through a combination of direct operations and distributor partnerships. NutriAsia was able to modernize enterprise systems, improve its current infrastructure, and guarantee not only sustainability but also enterprise analytic scalability to meet future demands by moving its SAP ERP Central Component (SAP ECC) system to the cloud with RISE with SAP, as well as moving SAP Business Warehouse, SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence suite, and SAP Data Services to Microsoft Azure.

Providing leadership and critical support throughout the project, delaware Philippines served as system integration partner, ensuring minimal disruption and smooth transition through strategic planning, system architecture design, and seamless execution.

According to NutriAsia President and Chief Operating Officer, Angie Flaminiano, the migration project marked a significant step in the company’s digital transformation efforts.

“This project was a key step in our ongoing journey towards digital transformation and sustainable growth. By migrating our SAP ECC system to the cloud through RISE with SAP and leveraging Azure, we’ve established a more scalable and resilient infrastructure for NutriAsia’s operations. This investment positions us to improve operational reliability and better support our evolving business needs,” she said.

Meanwhile, NutrAsia Information Technology and Digital Transformation Group Head Vergel Villacorta shared how the project’s technical aspects have enabled the company to maintain its competitive edge.

“This migration was a cornerstone of our digital transformation, enhancing NutriAsia’s infrastructure with cloud capabilities. Through this transition, we improved system accessibility, maintained seamless reporting capabilities, and laid the foundation for scalability of our enterprise analytics to meet future business needs and support our digital roadmap. The solutions deployed in this project provide a flexible and reliable platform for continued growth and innovation,” he added.

To ensure the seamless integration of critical systems during the migration, delaware Philippines needed to safeguard the company’s existing processes and reporting functionalities, while implementing rigorous validation procedures to ensure system integrity. It also provided comprehensive training for the NutriAsia teams which facilitated the smooth transition to the upgraded platforms.

“This project is a showcase of the strength of our collaboration with NutriAsia. Our combined efforts have enabled a successful migration to a cloud-based infrastructure, laying the foundation for operational excellence and paving the way for future innovation. While underscoring NutriAsia’s commitment to harnessing cutting-edge technology to drive operational efficiency and business agility, our partnership also sets a benchmark for transformative IT solutions in the FMCG industry,” said Rosette Carrao, Partner and Managing Director of delaware Philippines.

Senior Vice President for Customer Success of delaware Philippines Simone Pigason expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “This partnership marked a significant milestone in NutriAsia’s digital transformation journey, and we are proud to have been chosen as their system integrator for this cloud migration. It reinforces our commitment to the Food and Beverage industry.”

Delaware Philippines, a reputable SAP partner with a particular emphasis on the food and beverage industry, is committed to providing solutions that tackle sector-specific issues and promote ongoing innovation and expansion. This partnership demonstrates the company’s dedication to providing companies like NutriAsia with the resources and know-how needed to prosper in a changing marketplace.

BPI uses the first workplace reverse vending machine in the industry to convert plastic waste into VYBE points

BPI employees use the Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) to recycle clean PET bottles and aluminum cans. By doing so, they earn BPI Rewards Points redeemable via the VYBE by BPI app.

The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) demonstrated its commitment to sustainability by becoming the first bank in the nation to install a reverse vending machine (RVM) in the workplace. This action furthered the BPI’s commitment to environmental responsibility and its goal of incorporating sustainable practices into daily operations.

BPI’s “Turn Waste into Points” program, which incentivizes staff and visitors to recycle plastic and aluminum waste and promotes active engagement in the bank’s sustainability strategy, relies heavily on the RVM.

Located at The Fifth in BPI Buendia Center (BBC), Makati City, the RVM accepts clean, empty PET bottles and aluminum cans (with labels intact). In return, employees and guests earn BPI Rewards Points which can be tracked and redeemed for vouchers through the VYBE by BPI app.

“This initiative is a reflection of how we walk the talk when it comes to sustainability,” said Cathy Santamaria, BPI Chief Customer and Marketing Officer. “We are encouraging every BPI employee and guest to make recycling a habit—by making it simple, convenient, and rewarding.”

The RVM, supplied by SpurwayEnterprises, helps users recycle while supporting BPI’s waste management program. The collected recyclables will be sold to recycling facilities, where they will be processed and upcycled into products such as t-shirts, eco-bricks, chairs, and tables.

Currently, PET bottle waste generated at BBC is estimated at 20 kilograms monthly—or about 500 pieces of 500ml bottles—all of which would typically take 450 to 1,000 years to decompose. Through this initiative, BPI aims to divert a significant portion of that volume away from landfills and into a circular economy model.

In keeping with BPI’s continuous dedication to sustainability, the “Turn Waste Into Points” campaign will run until September 24, 2025, and will encourage people to take simple but significant steps that will help create a more sustainable future.

Home Credit’s Everyday Heroes Share Their Stories of Hope and Hard Work at KASAMA sa Pangarap

Sales Associates HC Specials Kasama

Every desire, no matter how large or small, can come true at Home Credit Philippines because of our Sales Associates’ (SAs’) commitment and reasonable installment plans. Whether it’s a smart TV for the family, a new phone for school, or a motorcycle for business, our SAs are the kind faces behind every accepted application. They are always #ReadytoHelp. Wearing their trademark red shirts with the cheerful emblem, Home Credit’s sales associates welcome clients with kind grins and knowledgeable advice, assisting Filipinos in locating the greatest offers and acquiring the things they require in a responsible and self-assured manner.

In KASAMA, our fourth #HCSpecials video, we celebrate the everyday lives of sales associates and show how they are always #ReadyToHelp Filipinos achieve their dreams.

This feature shares the inspiring stories of three top-performing Sales Associates: Jerryco Malvarosa, Kimberly Boiser, and Joebeth Rizaldo—proving that with dedication, passion, and heart, basta KASAMA si Home Credit, goals are always within reach.

The Dedicated Dreamer

Every Home Credit Sales Associate (SA) shares one mission: to make it easier for Filipinos to get what they need through fast, simple, and affordable installment plans. Take Jerryco Malvarosa, for example—he goes the extra mile to ensure his customers understand every step of the installment process, helping them bring home what they need, hassle-free.

Before joining Home Credit, Jerryco was one of the many Filipinos who lost their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Those three months without work tested his resilience as he struggled to pay rent, utilities, and put food on the table. But his determination never wavered, and everything changed when he became an SA at Home Credit.

Driven to rebuild his life, Jerryco arrives early at work, ensures all marketing materials are in place, and patiently explains Home Credit’s installment products and payment options. One day, a loyal customer thanked him for helping them get appliances for their home with ease and at 0% interest.

Naalala ko, may customer na nagsabing malaking tulong si Home Credit noong naghahanap sila ng appliances para sa kanilang bahay. Bukod sa 0% interest, mabilis din ang transaction dahil existing client sila at good payer pa.” [I remember a customer saying that Home Credit was a big help when they were looking for appliances for their home. Not only was there 0% interest, but the transaction was also fast because they were an existing client and a good payer.]

Now at 39, Jerryco is proud that his role as an SA helped him build savings and start a small business, transforming his life for the better. [We really can’t avoid challenges, especially when it comes to money. But thankfully, Home Credit is there: easy to approach, a hassle-free application, and a reliable partner in times of need.]

A Father that Keeps on Giving

Known for his genuine care and patience, Joebeth Rizaldo is the kind of Home Credit Sales Associate who goes the extra mile to help customers bring home something special for their loved ones.

A devoted father and husband to his two-year-old son and a wife three months pregnant, Joebeth shares the same dream as many Filipino dads—to give his family the best life possible. Through hard work and determination, he was able to buy a motorcycle, upgrade it to a tricycle, and renovate their home.

One moment that stands out in his journey as an SA was helping Lorena, a mother who purchased an iPhone 13 as a graduation gift for her daughter’s first-ever phone. That simple act reminded Joebeth of his own dream to give back to his father.

“I remember my father wanted a ₱4,500 watch but didn’t buy it because it was too expensive. I promised myself I’d get him one someday. Thanks to my job as an SA, I bought him a watch worth twice as much. Others may think it’s simple, but for me, it’s a big achievement.”

A week after Lorena’s purchase, she came back with a basket of fruits to thank Joebeth. “But her smile alone was enough to remind me why I do this job,” he shared.

For Joebeth, life has come full circle. Despite the challenges of meeting monthly targets, he stayed committed and grew from a shy newcomer to a confident SA—always #ReadytoHelp more customers, like Lorena, make their dreams come true with Home Credit by their side.

From Small Seller to Big Marketer

With a smile that radiates positivity, Kimberly Boiser helps every Home Credit customer feel supported, ensuring they bring home what they need with confidence and ease.

“Pinakatumatak talaga sa akin is noong may bumalik sa store para magpasalamat kasi nagamit nila ‘yung cellphone na in-apply nila. Super happy na nakatulong ako at naka-receive pa ng referrals dahil satisfied siya sa service ko,” she shared. [What really stuck with me the most was when a customer came back to the store to say thank you because they were able to use the cellphone they applied for. I was super happy that I was able to help, and I even received referrals because they were satisfied with my service.]

Kimberly’s journey began humbly as a tindera selling office supplies just to make ends meet. When she lost that job, she faced the challenge of finding a new way to support her family. But even without work, she never lost her drive.

Just like how she pushed herself to reach her daily targets as a tindera, Kimberly seized the opportunity to become a Home Credit Sales Associate, a decision that changed her life. From being a small-time seller, the now 31-year-old Kimberly grew into a confident SA who sees her role as more than just a job. For her, it’s a chance to meet people from all walks of life and help turn their plans into reality.

Now with Home Credit for nearly eight years, Kimberly is proud of how far she’s come and grateful for the many stories she’s been a part of.

“Dati, maliit na tindera lang ako, pero ngayon isa na akong sales agent sa isang malaking kumpanya tulad ng Home Credit. Sobrang nagpapasalamat ako dahil hindi lang gumaling ang marketing skills ko, naging better version pa ako ng sarili ko.” [Before, I was just a small-time vendor, but now I’m a sales agent at a big company like Home Credit. I’m very thankful because not only did my marketing skills improve, but I also became a better version of myself.]

Home Credit’s Project KASAMA is a powerful reminder that no matter where we come from, we all strive to live with purpose and uplift those around us. Behind every customer interaction is a story of resilience, hope, and the drive to turn everyday moments into meaningful milestones. Through the eyes and efforts of our dedicated Sales Associates, we see how one installment plan can spark a life-changing journey. With heart, hustle, and a shared mission, Home Credit continues to stand beside every Filipino, para sa pangarap, para sa pamilya, para sa life.

Home Credit, SIGMA Uses Muay Thai to Empower Cavite Youth

The country’s leading finance consumer company provides a free summer sports program through Alagang Home CSR initiative to promote physical and mental well-being among children

Representatives from Home Credit Philippines and SIGMA (Self-Defense & Independent Guardian Martial Arts)

A Muay Thai Summer Sports Clinic marked the successful conclusion of Home Credit Philippines, second year of collaboration with the Self-Defense & Independent Guardian Martial Arts (SIGMA) sports clinic. Home Credit Philippines is the nation’s top consumer credit organization. Through the ancient martial art of Muay Thai, the program empowered 120 youngsters ages 8 to 12 from Bacoor, Cavite, and surrounding regions for a summer full of learning and discipline in an effort to promote discipline, sportsmanship, and community participation among the youth.

Alagang Home, Home Credit’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, which goes beyond financial services to actively give back to the community with a special emphasis on youth development, includes this effort as one of its pillars.

As the program concluded, children demonstrated their newly acquired Muay Thai skills in presence of their parents, coaches, and special guests during a graduation ceremony on June 7. Certificates of completion were awarded by Home Credit and SIGMA representatives.

Home Credit Partners with Muay Thai

Muay Thai, the national sport of Thailand, offers a wealth of benefits for its young practitioners that extend far beyond the ring. “We are very grateful that Home Credit has once again given us this opportunity. I am very happy that the children are enjoying the training and learning a lot. The number one lesson is self-defense, but the most important is instilling discipline in the youth,” John Derick Ignes, owner of the Muay Thai Sports Clinic, emphasized this holistic approach.

“Ang magandang naidulot ng Muay Thai sa mga anak ko ay natutulo sila ng self-defense. Bukod doon,  nagkakaroon sila ng physical fitness activity. Naiiwasan na rin nila ang mga gadget kung saan natutuon ang kanilang atensyon. Dito, natututo sila ng discipline,” shared Angel Rubi Cruz, a parent.

Many parents highlighted how martial arts foster confidence and resilience in their children.

As graduates proudly received their certificates, the event highlighted the power of community collaboration. Through Alagang Home initiatives, Home Credit demonstrates its commitment to supporting Filipinos and fostering a stronger, more confident youth.

“We believe in giving back, especially to the youth who will shape our future. As we continue to serve millions of Filipinos with accessible financial services, we’re equally committed to serving communities through sustainable, values-driven programs,” Portia La-ab, HCPH ESG Lead concludes.

The Muay Thai Summer Sports Clinic is just one of many Alagang Home initiatives that aim to enrich lives, empower communities, and promote environmental positivity. With more programs nationwide, Home Credit continues to be a trusted partner in building a brighter future for the next generation.
