Luisa C. Mamaril (VP and Medical Director of Etiqa), and Glenn Warren Navea (Head of Group and General Insurance of Etiqa)

A cooperation between KonsultaMD and Etiqa Philippines has been formed to improve Filipinos’ access to digital health. Through this initiative, KonsultaMD consultations for Etiqa members and their dependents are free.

At a recent contract signing event, the cooperation was publicly announced. Cholo Tagaysay, CEO of KonsultaMD, and Rico Bautista, President and CEO of Etiqa, headed the delegation.

Cholo Tagaysay (L), CEO of KonsultaMD, and Rico Bautista, CEO and President of Etiqa (R), seal the deal with a handshake.

With this partnership, KonsultaMD joins Etiqa’s large network of more than 1,500 hospitals and clinics nationwide as a significant health partner. Etiqa members may now access a wide range of doctors and specialists through the app thanks to KonsultaMD’s extensive network of over 1,000 healthcare professionals on their platform.

The fusion of these two ecosystems aims to promote a more all-encompassing approach to healthcare and offer Filipinos a more robust, economical, and accessible health solution. Leaders in telemedicine and health insurance, KonsultaMD and Etiqa Philippines, respectively, anticipate launching new services in the upcoming months.

“As we develop more services in the KonsultaMD ecosystem, we would still need partners who can help amplify the reach of our services. We are in the business of democratizing healthcare, and Etiqa is the perfect partner to help reach that goal,” said Tagaysay.

Dr. Fe De Leon, Senior Assistant Vice President of the Medical Operations Department of Etiqa Philippines, noted how the partnership seeks to address limited access to fundamental healthcare facilities and services in the Philippines.

“The biggest challenge for the Philippine healthcare sector is the lack of access to even the most basic healthcare facilities and services including teleconsultation, particularly in the provincial areas. We hope that this partnership will provide accessibility and quality healthcare services while being a cost-effective and efficient practice of preventive medicine,” she said.

Through a straightforward three-step process, Etiqa members can take advantage of free online doctor consultations from KonsultaMD. To begin, clients must make a one-time call to the KonsultaMD Hotline at 02-7798-8000 (press 0), send an email to @[email protected], and give the Wellness Representative their policy number and mobile number. Members should then download the KonsultaMD app and register using the same mobile number provided to the hotline. Upon successful registration, the Etiqa health plan will be enabled within the app in around thirty minutes.

KonsultaMD, a portfolio firm of Globe’s 917Ventures, is assisting in the democratization of healthcare with its extensive, dependable telehealth services, which also include nursing care for infants and the elderly as well as 24/7 access to doctors, medical certifications, same-day pharmaceutical deliveries, and at-home diagnostics. Additionally, it promotes mental health consultations and works to reduce stigma around these services among Filipinos.
