The newly signed Sony Music Philippines act embraces youthful energy, sisterhood, and the exhilarating uncertainty of catching feelings
Davao-based girl group DAELUX officially steps into the P-Pop scene with their pre-debut single “Like That,” released under Sony Music Entertainment.
The seven-member group’s latest track explores the thrill and uncertainty that come with developing feelings for someone, especially when you’re unsure if those emotions are mutual. Filled with playful lyrics and an upbeat, bouncy sound, “Like That” delivers a feel-good pop experience while capturing the confusion, frustration, and excitement of trying to read someone’s signals and figure out where a possible relationship could go.
“We were drawn to this theme because the feeling of liking someone and trying to figure out where you stand is something a lot of people can relate to,” DAELUX admits. “There’s excitement, but there’s also that uncertainty when you start overthinking little actions. For us, Like That captures that stage in a fun and lighthearted way. We may all have different experiences and perspectives on love, but the song reflects that real feeling of wanting clarity while still hoping the other person feels the same way.”
Instead of moping on the track’s complicated sentiments, “Like That” approaches the experience with optimism and youthful candor. Beneath its bright exterior, the song encourages confidence in expressing genuine emotions, especially when fear of rejection makes silence tempting.
The track also reflects the Filipino pop group’s sonic identity, with familiar storytelling and a clear sense of duality. The group embraces its free-spirited side while making room for a softer, more emotional dimension, allowing the music to reflect how young people navigate relationships, self-expression, and growing into themselves.

“Like That” is produced by Pao Lofranco with AndreaH as a co-writer, while the members contribute their own creative ideas to the songwriting process. Throughout its development, the group made several revisions, working closely with the production team and label to ensure the final arrangement felt authentic to DAELUX.
The song’s harmonies were arranged with the help of their vocal coach, Ma’am Shelley, who also worked on distributing the vocal parts to highlight the individual qualities of each member’s voice.
“While recording, we tried to bring ourselves back to a younger and more innocent feeling—when you’re still a little unsure and inexperienced when it comes to love,” DAELUX says. “We think that helped give the song its bright, playful, and youthful feel.”
“Like That” is DAELUX’s first release since partnering with Sony Music Philippines, bringing its distinct P-Pop brand to a wider audience.
“Being part of Sony Music is a huge opportunity for us. It gives us the chance to learn, grow, and take our music more seriously as artists. Working with them has also encouraged us to think bigger while still staying true to who DAELUX is,” shares the seven-piece group.
With all seven members—CK, Alice, Ara, Rhya, Slane, Zyra, and Riri—coming from Davao, DAELUX embodies a homegrown P-Pop journey rooted in the city. Beyond the members, the creative team behind the group’s music and performance video is also Davao-based, bringing together a shared pool of local talent that has played a key role in shaping DAELUX’s sound, visuals, and identity from the very beginning.
