Filipino indie artist Peej confronts the loneliness that comes with choosing solitude in his debut album, King of Sadtown

Written and produced in his bedroom, the album turns independence into an emotional reckoning

Filipino bedroom pop soloist Peej will drop his full-length debut album, King of Sadtown, on Friday, February 13, 2026, on all digital music platforms worldwide.

Inspired by Death Cab for Cutie, Matt Maltese, Bon Iver, Damien Rice, Tom Misch, Frank Sinatra, and Mac DeMarco, the 13-track release finds a young artist unafraid to confront the consequences of choosing solitude. The album unfolds as a series of interconnected stories: destructive habits, romantic disappointments, fleeting encounters, and, ultimately, the conscious decision to withdraw.

“Most times writing songs is like a therapy session for me,” Peej admits. “I’ll often sing out a random line during the writing process—and it’s only then I realize that this topic is something that has been eating me up inside—so naturally I have lots of things to say about it, and the song slowly takes shape.”

For what it’s worth, King of Sadtown mirrors Peej’s tendency to avoid deep, intimate relationships in favor of personal independence. The songwriting explores what it means to rule one’s own world, make one’s own rules, and answer to no one, only to realize that freedom can feel hollow when the world is empty.

Written, produced, and primarily mixed by Peej in his bedroom during the later years of the pandemic, King of Sadtown carries a deeply personal, almost diaristic quality. Here, Peej allowed himself to experiment freely in his production, incorporating new textures, such as adding prominent sax parts, while letting the emotions guide each arrangement.

The album was mixed by Peej, with additional mixing by Nikhil Amarnani on “Islands” and “These Walls,” and mastered by Jan Fuertez. Carefully sequenced, Sadtown eases listeners in with lighter, easy-listening moments before gradually sinking into heavier emotional territory.

Peej adds, “I hope the vulnerability and honesty shines through the album. I want my music to continue living in that space, especially when it comes to the lyrics. And while I might have “a sound,” I also feel that I have done a lot of sound experimenting with this album, so I’m hoping to continue experimenting and getting better at producing in future songs to come.”

Myles Smith releases new single with Niall Horan ‘Drive Safe’

Myles Smith releases his first single of 2026, Drive Safe, a special collaboration with Niall Horan.

After sparking much anticipation on socials, Myles now officially lifts the curtain on the track, with pre-orders available from today. ‘Drive Safe’ marks the first official collaboration between the two artists – co-written by Myles Smith and Niall Horan, the song reflects the close creative friendship the pair have developed. Pairing Myles’ emotionally precise songwriting with Niall’s globally celebrated melodic sensibility, the track feels both intimate and effortless, shaped by a shared instinct for honest, heartfelt storytelling.

Speaking on the process of working with Niall Horan, Myles Smith says: “Collaborations only really matter to me when they come from something real, and working with Niall genuinely did. He’s got this effortless instinct for melody, but beyond that he’s a good friend who very quickly became one of my closest. Our friendship shaped the song, and hopefully you can feel it in every line!

‘Drive Safe’ is built around the idea that life will inevitably throw curveballs and present obstacles, but those moments are manageable when you have the right people around you.

Balancing optimism with honesty, the song frames uncertainty not as something to fear, but as part of the journey – carried by a bright, guitar-driven energy that feels motivating and affirming. At its heart, “Life is a road, don’t know what’s along the way, so drive safe” becomes a message of reassurance, reminding listeners that connection makes even the hardest stretches feel less daunting.

Sonically warm and uplifting, ‘Drive Safe’ sees Myles continue to refine the heartfelt storytelling that has become a hallmark of his work. Built around bright, acoustic textures and an open, understated production, the track creates space for both voices to shine – with Niall’s contribution adding an expansive, reassuring lift that reinforces the song’s sense of connection and optimism.

The release arrives at a moment of growing momentum for Myles Smith. In the past 12 months, Myles played to over 100,000 people across his own sold-out headline shows in the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and North America, in addition to a packed-out Glastonbury performance. In 2025, Myles won the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for Most Performed Work as well as the Rolling Stone UK Breakthrough Award, covering their Awards Issue. This summer, Myles Smith will join Ed Sheeran as the main support for his US tour.

With ‘Drive Safe’, Myles Smith opens a new chapter – one defined by emotional clarity, artistic confidence and continued global growth – setting the tone for an exciting year ahead.

In Simula At Wakas: Kickoff Concert Album, SB19 transforms a historic event into an unforgettable memory

Recorded across the two-day concert in Philippine arena, the 19-track live album captures a defining moment in P-Pop history

Simula At Wakas: Kickoff Concert Album, a live recording of songs from SB19’s two-day performance at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan on May 31 and June 1, 2025, has been released. The group’s unquestionable world-class performance further elevates the record, which redefines a new age of boldness and ambition in SB19’s music.

The 19-track CD, which was mixed and mastered by Radkidz with live arrangements by Jem Florendo, includes live performances of songs from Simula At Wakas (2025), Pagtatag! (2023), and Pagsibol (2021), accompanying the concert version of the fan-favorite track “Moonlight.”

Originally featuring US-based producer/DJ Ian Asher and Chinese electronic producer Terry Zhong, “Moonlight” takes a more restrained, but more soulful direction in its live iteration. For this version, the subdued arrangement places SB19’s vocals front and center, offering a more intimate take on the track.

“The live version of Moonlight is absolutely one of our favorites from the new record,” SB19 shares. “By keeping the production minimal and letting our voices lead, we found something more honest and human. Sometimes, less is more.”

Recorded during the opening stops of their Simula At Wakas world tour, the concert album reflects the Filipino group’s evolution on an artistic and emotional level. The two-night spectacle set the tone for a 21-show tour spanning cities and territories across the United States, Canada, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Australia, and more.

“These versions reveal who we are now,” the P-Pop powerhouse adds. “Everything was done with intention, but also with openness, allowing the moment to shape the performance. This album represents years of hard work, discipline, and belief, and we wanted it to feel alive and heartfelt.

Filipino singer-songwriter dwta closes whimsical folk era with self-produced anti-Valentine’s show

Apart from her upcoming music gig, dwta also recently dropped a cover of “Ang Pag-ibig Kong Ito,” her first official release of 2026

Filipino singer-songwriter dwta will be headlining her self-produced music gig, Where Do Broken Hearts Go? Sa Gig ni dwta, on February 13, 2026, at 123 Block in Mandaluyong City.

Billed as an anti-Valentine’s show, Where Do Broken Hearts Go? Sa Gig ni dwta will feature a special extended set from the Bicol-born artist, whose body of work has redefined romantic and anti-romantic storytelling with sharp wit, offbeat visuals, and emotional sincerity. The evening will also bring together a stellar lineup of guest performers, including shirebound, Janine Teñoso, Jan Roberts, Kenaniah, and LEYO.

Beyond the live music component, the event will put a spotlight on local merchants and creatives such as Hunghang Flashbacks, Amoy Scents and Candles, and Tattoo Studio PH. Hosting duties will be handled by Conyo Bicolano.

The show, according to dwta, is dedicated to ‘single’ listeners seeking meaningful, organic encounters. “This show is perfect for them. Since I’ve written more broken songs than love songs, this felt like the right chance to highlight them, especially with my new single. I’ll be playing a long set featuring my original songs, both old and new, along with the cover I recently released. I’ll also be teasing a song we’ve been working on that reflects this new dwta sound.”

The acclaimed songstress reveals that this gig will mark a pivotal moment in her journey as an artist, as it provides a fitting closure to the whimsical folk leanings of her previous era.

“After this, I’ll be stepping into a new era with a more mature sound and writing,” dwta adds. “It’s not just the music that’s changing, but also my appearance and overall vibe. I really hope people get to experience this show and see how I started back when I was just Jhasmine Villanueva. This isn’t just an ordinary gig; it’s a moment to show how my music has really evolved.”

Earlier this year, dwta released a cover of “Ang Pag-ibig Kong Ito,” originally performed by Lea Navarro and written by Carlos Agawa and Ernie Dela Pena. The track, which serves as her first official release in 2026, conveys enduring love and devotion despite odd circumstances in life.

“For my version, I wanted to focus more on the feeling,” dwta reflects. “I wanted the listener to imagine being inside the song. Like it’s late at night, you’re alone in your room, lying in bed, hearing the sound of crickets outside, crying quietly, and hoping that tomorrow will be better. That soft moment of vulnerability and hope is what I really wanted to convey in this song.”

Produced by Brian Lotho, dwta’s version underwent several iterations but eventually settled into a quieter, more somber arrangement that aligns with song’s emotional weight. The “Padaba Taka” songstress explains, “After talking it through with my team, we decided to follow what feels true to dwta. We ended up going for a more raw and intimate arrangement with acoustic guitar, slower pacing, and more strings.”

Dwta’s “Ang Pag-ibig Kong Ito” is available now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment. Tickets to Where Do Broken Hearts Go? Sa Gig ni dwta are now available here.
