British singer-songwriter James Arthur shares personal changes in life and relationships on new album, It’ll All Make Sense In The End

Finally back James Arthur with his highly anticipated fourth studio album, It’ll All Make Sense In The End. Having written and recorded bulk of the songs during the lockdown in the comforts of his home, the versatile hitmaker spent some time ruminating on the changes in his personal life, while using it as inspiration for his music-making journey. This enabled him and his collaborators to work on their own convenient time, round the clock, but not to the clock.

“And all of a sudden, the music started sounding great,” the former X Factor UK winner shares in a statement. “From day one there was a sound that I wanted to go for. Even early on, it sounded like a real album, a proper body of work. This is the first time I’ve made an album all in one place and you can hear this in the music. There’s something really comfortable about working in your own home – I was able to be more vulnerable than ever.”

James Arthur

After writing the boldly autobiographical first single “Medicine,” James and frequent collaborator Andrew Jackson (“Train Wreck”) quickly came up with “Losing You,” an anthemic electronic-rock song that’s big on heart, riffs and emotive punch.

Arthur reveals, “I wanted this album to have proper rock elements. The kind of rock I love is emo and pop-punk, so I wanted to domy take on that genre. Lyrically that song, like a lot of the songs, is the sound of someone who’s doing a lotof reflecting, a lot of processing and being really honest about where I’ve been in my head. And in that song I’m talking to myself: I feel like I’m always on the verge of losing you.”

Another important track in the album is the early keeper “Déjà Vu,” written with Jackson and Mark Crew (Bastille, Rag’n’Bone Man). Demonstrating the full range of his vocal abilities, Arthur sings, ‘You fucked me up, I can’t get enough,’ with astounding vagueness that is a bit of everything, depending on how the listeners interpret the material.

“It’s been well documented that I’ve had my issues with all of those. It’s just quite honest stuff, really,” the iconic British artist adds.

Second single “September” is also part of the album, and shines through with its no-holds-barred confessional appeal and acoustic-meets-trap sound. As vulnerably naked in his lyrics as he ever was, Arthur also isn’t afraid to sing to the next generation: “Emily” is a tender, intimate mea culpa to the daughter he might one day have.

“That arose from conversations about having kids,” the pop/rock dad explains. “Would I even be a good dad? What if they read about all the shit I’ve been through? It doesn’t matter, because ultimately I’m the guy who’s going to be there for you all your life.”

The record also includes “SOS,” which Arthur describes as an album-defining song with 30 Seconds To Mars-esque chorus and a rap flow reminiscent of Miguel.

In moving out of London, the musician has created a safe space: a working place, family place, fitness place. In building that sanctuary he’s felt even more comfortable to be even more open, not just about the things that are inspiring him but also the things that are plaguing him.

“Travelling, going to other people’s studios, doing sessions in new places – for someone like me who has a bit of social anxiety, all that was difficult,” the multi-platinum musician shares. “But working at home allowed me to be more vulnerable.”

It allowed him to finesse a sound that gels over the entire album, that process aided by additional production from Matt Rad, who’s worked with Taking Back Sunday, one of his favorite bands. He helps bring cohesion.

“The sound is very simple. It’s basically raucous guitars with trap beats and strong, strong melodies,” Rad says of a musical approach he’s been honing for years in his collaborations with superstar artists such as Ty Dolla $ign, Machine Gun Kelly and Juicy J.

To date, James Arthur has sold over 30 million records worldwide and has to date released three hugely successful albums: James Arthur (UK No. 2), Back From The Edge (UK No. 1) and YOU (UK No.2), alongside nine solo UK Top 40 singles. He’s had two No.1 smash hits and was awarded a disc for reaching a billion streams on

Spotify with ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’, the No.1 global hit that brought the singer-songwriter from Middlesbrough back from the edge (it currently has 1.7 billion streams on the platform).

James recently dominated the airwaves and charts with his storming collaboration with Sigala ‘Lasting Lover’. The track was a No.1 airplay song in the UK, No.1 on iTunes and Top 10 on the Official Singles Chart.

James has announced tours of both UK and Ireland and North America in 2022, including a date at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall..

Sony Music Philippines strengthening its word-class repertoire with addition of iconic and hip-hop artists HBOM, REN, and Michael Bars

The record label promises to introduce these new music discoveries to the streaming generation through its sustainable promotional, marketing, and artist development efforts. The new roster is led by celebrated hip-hop veteran HBOM, who has made a remarkable contribution to the industry as an artist, entrepreneur, songwriter/composer, and music visionary. With over 8 million streams across all music platforms worldwide and four acclaimed albums under his belt, HBOM is responsible for leading his own music movement with protégés in the scene, including Filipino-American rap superstar EZ Mil and South African-based artist Michael Bars.

“I’ve been in the hip-hop scene for over 20 years, and I’ve withstood the times when no one liked hip-hop,” the respected multi-hyphenate shares in a statement. “What makes my music standout is the distinct voice that I have. When everyone hears it, they already know its me.”

HBOM’s new single “Witness,” which will be released on November 10, is a chill-hop jam about minding one’s own business, and settling down on what truly matters in life like family and adult priorities. The music video accompanying the track is co-directed by HBOM himself and frequent collaborator, TNES.

Another globally renowned artist in the roster is 19-year-old Michael Bars, who recently worked with Filipino hip-hop artist Michael Pacquiao on the viral banger “Pac-Man.” As an award-winning wordsmith known for making socially conscious music that transcends cultural barriers, Michael Bars has proven himself as a highly skillful rapper and producer with more than 8.7 million streams across all combined digital platforms worldwide.

“My main goal is to build a bigger name in the music industry and to spread my message as an artist,” says the South Africa-based hip-hop newcomer. “I use rap music as my weapon to talk about my life and I don’t cuss in them because it’s easier for children to rap along to the lyrics.”

His new single “Never Stop,” which recently dropped on November 3, is a massive jab of an anthem about picking one’s self up and never backing down in a fight. The song was inspired by his personal experience dealing with bullies in his high school years. Featuring 10-year-old R&B singer Sky, the track captures a visceral but powerful performance between the two artists.

Rounding up the urban roster is Filipino rap artist REN, formerly known as Balasubas. As a talented rapper that stands out with his unique style and confidence, the Dongalo Wreckords member has amassed over 5 million views on YouTube alone in less than two years.

“I’m grateful to the label for giving me the opportunity to inspire more people,” the young rapper expresses his gratitude on being part of the label’s esteemed pool of artists. “I want to use my gift in telling stories that uplift the lives of my community and promote positivity.”

REN has recently released his first official single “In Throw” under Sony Music Philippines. Delivering incisive but melodic flow against a confrontational beat, the track deals with surviving life challenges through hard work and determination. REN adds, “behind this music was a story; a story of a person who is doing his best to continue in spite of rejection and judgment.” The music video is helmed by Aleksei Hipolito, a frequent collaborator of the rap thespian.

To promote the vibrant hip-hop music scene in the Philippines, and diversify their catalog in the streaming, mobile, and social-driven platforms all around the world is part of the strategic vision of Sony Music Philippines for the launch of HBOM, REN, and Michael Bars.

Using Cebuana Lhuillier Micro Savings to get through this the Pandemic

Many Filipinos’ lifestyles were transformed as a result of the financial burden brought on by the worldwide health pandemic. Many people have lost their employment in the nearly two years after the global COVID-19 pandemic began, and they have had to make due with whatever money they have.

More than half of Filipinos named boosting their savings as one of their top priorities when it comes to personal finance, according to a study titled “State of Banking and Financial Wellness”  commissioned by US-based research firm Forrester.

The desire to have money safely stashed when rainy days come, is one that is shared by every Filipino—regardless of stature in life or the money they earn. When COVID-19 hit, majority of Filipinos were left without a stable means of livelihood as the strict lockdown badly affected the economy, leading to a significant number of business closures and an uncertain future for those engaged in the gig economy.

Stemming from its desire to push for financial inclusion for every Filipino, Cebuana Lhuillier Bank partnered with Cebuana Lhuillier, one of the country’s leading micro financial service providers, to introduce Cebuana Lhuillier Micro Savings in 2019. Cebuana Lhuillier Micro Savings provided Filipinos with an accessible and convenient means to save their hard-earned money by addressing the common barriers in saving, including lack of accessibility, the need for numerous documentary requirements, and the high cost of a starting and maintaining a balance.

“Our main priority is to be a one-stop shop for the micro financial needs of our kababayans. With our commitment of financial inclusion and mobility for everyone, Cebuana Lhuillier Micro Savings account is one of the great products we have created to empower many of our kababayans to save, regardless of their status in life,” Cebuana Lhuillier President and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier said.

The promise of having money saved in times of need was what inspired Cebuana Lhuillier Micro Savings account holders Pillilia Pardo and Maria Luisa Luna to open a savings account and work hard to build a comfortable fund that they can rely on when needed.

Pillilia Pardo, 79-year-old, sari-sari store owner from Las Pinas and a loyal micro savings account holder, dreams of imparting the value of savings to her children.

Pillilia, a 79-year-old sari-sari store owner in Las Pinas, makes sure to deposit a fraction of her daily earnings into her micro savings account. With her store located right beside the Cebuana Lhuillier Casimiro branch, she has become a daily fixture for the branch personnel who assists her on her everyday transactions.

“Napakahalaga ng savings, kasi pag dumating ang pagkakataon na ikaw ay magigipit, kailangan mo ng pera. Kung mayroon kang ipon, anytime puwede ka makapag-withdraw,” shares the septuagenarian. When the pandemic hit, Pillilia used her micro savings account to augment her day-to-day expenses, which included medicines, food, utilities, and rent. When the lockdowns affected her store’s earnings, she was comforted by the fact that she did not have to resort to borrowing money in order to get by. “Hindi ka magsisisi kung nakapag-ipon ka…anytime nangailangan, nandiyan ang ipon ko. Mayroon akong magagamit,” she adds.

Maria Luisa Luna, a 64-year-old, garbage collector from Manila relied on her micro savings account when the pandemic badly hit her family.

For Maria Luisa, it was her savings that literally saved her family in the midst of the strict Manila lockdowns. She earns her keep by collecting recyclables which she then sells in a junkyard. For over two years, even before the lockdown began, she would make sure that a portion of her earnings goes to her Cebuana Lhuillier micro savings account, which she intends to use during emergencies.

She admits that the protracted quarantine period had drained her savings, but now that everything is slowly going back to normal, she has also resumed building her emergency nest egg, visiting the Cebuana Lhuillier branch nearest her after a day of collecting recyclables and items to sell.

Since its launch, Cebuana Lhuillier Micro Savings has enabled more than 5.5M account holders to have a semblance of peace of mind in times of great need and emergencies. As a cash agent, Cebuana Lhuillier provided account holders with a reliable and highly accessible venue to deposit and withdraw their money in any of its 2,500 branches nationwide, anytime and anywhere.

In 2020, Cebuana Lhuillier Micro Savings was made even more accessible and convenient with the introduction of its new digital features.

“We’ve always believed that Cebuana Lhuillier Micro Savings should be able to evolve according to the changing needs of its users. By going digital, Cebuana Lhuillier Micro Savings is providing greater IPON POWER to its account holders, by providing them convenience and mobility in maximizing the use of their savings through digital channels,” Cebuana Lhuillier bank President, Dennis Valdes added.

Cebuana Lhuillier Micro Savings gives you more IPON POWER by allowing you to withdraw cash from over 21,000+ BancNet ATMs nationwide at any time; shop online with UnionPay merchants around the world; have 24/7 unlimited banking access with the eCebuana app; and make cashless payments in over 350,000 UnionPay and BancNet accredited stores nationwide.

With more Filipinos gradually appreciating the importance of saving, Cebuana Lhuillier Micro Savings is working to improve its features so that account holders have a reliable partner they can rely on at all times.

In the New Normal, saving money is a must

Did you guys know that only 53% of the adult population saves, according to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ 2019 Financial Inclusion Survey? This outcome is as frightening as it sounds. As a result, the significance of saving money should be highlighted more frequently.

In our zoom meeting, luckily, I was invited, I am so delighted to learn and have insightful knowledge about saving. There it gives us ideas on how we can save and how important saving is. Things that I learned during the session is that we have a lot of things that need to prioritize and that we must also include savings as a priority. Also, I realized that I have to control my impulses to do my saving act well. Little by little we can make a change and have better security for ourselves. At my age right now saving money is also a form of investment because at the end of the day I can use this with all my future needs and endeavors.

World Savings Day is a day set aside for financial institutions, both governmental and commercial, as well as financial activists, to come together to promote saving mobilization. The concept is simple: saving is for all Juans!

Here are some more reasons to learn how to save money:

To achieve financial freedom

The ultimate goal for people who are financially knowledgeable is to achieve total financial independence, where you will never have to worry about your finances again. This is only possible if you manage your finances well.

To be ready in the event of an emergency

Unexpected expenses, such as car repairs, job loss, or family medical issues, necessitate the establishment of an emergency fund. Your savings may be sufficient to meet the amount required for the unforeseen expenses, ensuring that you do not go into debt.

To achieve a financial and/or personal goal

Saving money allows you to fulfill all of your financial and personal objectives. You can never buy and invest in a house and lot or a start-up business without appropriate savings. You’ll need to save money in order to afford a larger down payment on a home. A new car or a trip overseas are examples of personal milestones.

Not to miss out on a chance

Life presents us with opportunities that may or may not be financially rewarding. A seat sale to your favorite location, a pre-sale house and lot within your budget, a new stock in the IPO stage, or even a new company idea are all examples of opportunities. Your money could be used as a start-up fund. Keep in mind that the more money you have, the more possibilities you’ll have.

Especially in all the crises that we’re facing there’s a lot more reasons why people must save. As we face difficulties and unforeseen circumstances, we can’t predict what will happen in the future. We might lose our jobs and or face a financial crisis or health related issues and as for that we can lean on the amount we kept from our savings.

One of the most essential financial lessons we’ve learned from the current pandemic crisis is the need to save money. Emergencies do occur, and those who have not budgeted for them will find themselves worried about how to make ends meet. The pandemic also provided people with newfound leisure to pursue their side hustles for extra cash. People are becoming bakers, internet sellers, and vloggers, and firms in the health supply industry, such as masks, are expanding. When you undertake a general home cleaning, this is also a good time to sell any unused stuff you have. Finally, for individuals who work in an office, the shift to online school implies further savings for lunch and transportation.

How much you can save is mostly determined by your salary. Perhaps you’re considering a savings target that’s higher than what you’re getting paid. If you want to save more money, you should raise your salary and look for alternative ways to supplement your income. The more money you earn, the more money you should save, not the other way around. Consider it a never-ending wealth loop.

Saving is much more convenient thanks to Cebuana Lhuillier. As they changed their 24k Micro Savings Card to a normal Savings Card with all the perks of an ATM, minus the exorbitant startup deposit and daily maintenance balance requirements, which may deter most wage-earners like me.

According to Ms Lorna Z Teczon, Cebuana Lhuillier Bank’s Head of Digital Banking and Strategic Alliances, “This is as easy as depositing a minimum of P50 to open an account or P1 to reactivate a dormant account, and you can, with a minimal or zero fees, send, receive, save money with interest and withdraw from nearby Cebuana Lhuillier branches and BancNet ATMs.”

Saving is introduced to regular people, freelancers, and youngsters by making banking accessible not only to wage earners, but also to those who don’t, can’t, or haven’t experienced opening a bank account due to prohibitive restrictions.

This convenience is enough to persuade people to start saving without worry of becoming caught in bureaucracy or being turned off by commercial banking jargon.

So, what are you waiting for to make a better future and secure a means for yourself by saving money. As we commemorate World Savings Day it gives us an idea on how it is really important to us.

This is a very joyful occasion, as Juday, who is regarded as one of the country’s household names, joins forces with Mega Sardines, a Filipino household staple adored by Filipinos all across the country. Juday, after all, embodies Mega Sardines’ fervor and malasakit. I acquired a lot from the newest ambassador as I joined their virtual meeting. She is very kind and entertaining. I enjoyed the event, especially because they prepared exciting games that make it more lively and astounding.

In celebration of this new milestone, JSA, in collaboration with Mega Sardines, hosted a virtual fan meeting with the media and her loyal fans on October 21. Aside from the opportunity to interact, hangout, and get updates from their idol, the fans also enjoyed an event packed with games, activities and raffle prizes exclusive for them.

The attendees were also given new information about Mega Sardines’ Sarap, Sustansya at Saya campaign, which emphasised the nutritional benefits that a can of Mega Sardines can provide to Filipino families, as well as the delicacy that it can provide to ensure that everyone in the family likes it.
