Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo shares her secrets during quarantine in keeping Luna healthy and happy!

In these uncertain times brought by the COVID-19 pandemic every parent’s number one priority is the health and safety of the whole family. Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo as our super mom, adapting to the new normal was never easy but with the help of her friends and a few experts around her, adjusting has now become a challenging yet delightful learning experience for her and her family.

Knowing the difficulties and struggles of being a mom, Mommy Juday shared some of her latest discoveries in making sure that her kids can safely grow healthy and happy while staying at home.

  1. Gawing mas happy ang bawat moment nakasama si Chikiting

“Ngayong araw-araw tayong magkakasama, ito yung time for us to nurture our kids more. I-enjoy natin yung bawat moment nakasama natin sila dahil our kids really look up to us, ginagaya nila tayo. Kaya kung ano yung sabihin natin, gawin natin, paano tayo magdamit, paano tayo mag-alaga sa kanila, ibinabalik nila sa atin yun.” shared mommy Juday as she explains the value of spending as much time with her kids during the quarantine period.

Given that we’re mostly staying at home, grab every opportunity to spend as much time with your chikitings by doing the things they enjoy, their passions, and the things they’re curious about. Immerse yourself in what they like to get to know them better and help them develop their skills along the way.

  1. Spark the curiosity of your chikitings and learn with them

Being at home does not mean skipping on the chance to learn, children are naturally curious and this is the opportunity for you to explore and learn new things with them. Mommy Judy Ann values her children’s education and shares that she studies with her kids. She proudly admits that she even learns a lot from them!

“Nag-aaral ako with them dahil bilang nanay kailangan mo rin i-level up ang knowledge mo sa kung ano ang ginagawa ng mga anak mo. Kasama din nila ako magresearch tungkol sa mga bagay bagay dahil minsan mas alam pa nila kung ano yung mga bago at trending kay sa sa’kin at mas natututo ako from them and with them.”

  1. Gawing family bonding ang gawaing bahay

Use this time to teach your kids about household chores by slowly introducing small tasks they can do around the house. In the case of Mommy Juday, Luna enjoys helping her cook, and they even started planting their own veggies together: “Recently nagtatanim kami nina Lucho at Luna ng mga veggies na pwede naming ulamin!”

She also knows the importance of teaching her kids the skills they need to be more independent as they grow up, “We need to equip our children with basic survival skills tulad ng pagluluto, paglilinis, paglalaba, at paghuhugas ng pinggan para paglaki nila, hindi sila naka depende sa ibang tao dahil naturuan natin sila at this early age.”

  1. Panatilihing malusog at masaya ang mga chikiting with the right nutrition partner

Choose the right nutrition partner which can always provide all the nutrients that your chikitings need for them to grow happy and healthy. Mommy Judy Ann also believes that boosting our kids’ immune system will be their very first line of defense against illnesses. By providing their tummies with complete nutrients, they can be strong enough to fight off germs and viruses.

“Sa panahon ngayon, we need to look for the right milk na makakatulong sa happy at tamang paglaki ng mga bagets natin. We want them to be ready and equipped with whatever they might face di ba? Kaya ako I choose only NESTOGROW® 4 for Luna talaga.”  Mommy Juday also talked about how her trusted milk brand is enriched with L COMFORTIS® which improves the absorption of nutrients in children’s tummies and no added table sugar — ensuring that your kids get the #KumpletongNutriTIYAN they need to #GrowHappy and healthy!

Mommy Judy Ann’s NESTOGROW® journey

Judy Ann and her youngest daughter Luna officially joined the NESTOGROW® family this year as the brand’s newest endorsers alongside Mommy Melai Cantiveros-Francisco and Mela. “Malaki talaga ang pasalamat ko sa NESTOGROW® at sa tiwalang ibinigay nila sa amin ni Luna. Sa totoo lang, NESTOGROW®talaga yung produktong pinagkakatiwalaan ko, especially when it comes to my children.” Working with NESTOGROW® has been such a great blessing for Judy Ann this year. It was just a perfect match from the beginning as she automatically fell in love with the brand as it helped show great improvement for Luna.

To further shine light on the importance of gut health, the newest mom and daughter duo starred in NESTOGROW’s TV commercial where Judy Ann explains to Luna na ang health ng katawan ay nagsisimula sa tiyan!

With the release of the TVC, Mommy Judy Ann lets us in on a secret that the whole production was done right in their home with just a camera and the help of a few friends. It was a different experience being used to having a full production set, but according to her, “It was really a collaborative effort since konti lang kami and wala din kaming masyadong gamit . But it was fun working with friends and seeing Luna really happy and energetic during the shoot!” For Judy Ann, the whole experience is really something she’ll be treasuring since they were able to create something despite the challenges brought by the new normal: “This is something that will remain very memorable for Luna, and for me as well kasi we were able to rise above the challenge and adapt to change. I’m just so happy to see Luna happily doing things and adjusting to change at a very young age.”

Learn and spend time with your kids during this quarantine period by checking out NESTGROW’s latest commercial through this LINK and find out why you should definitely not forget about the importance of the tiyan!

ONE Championship Thailand Exclusive Media Zoom Session With Denice and Drex Zamboanga

ONE Championship recently held an exclusive Zoom conference call with Philippine media late Wednesday, 26 August, 2020. In attendance were sibling martial arts duo, top women’s atomweight contender Denice “The Menace” Zamboanga and her older brother Drex “T-Rex” Zamboanga.

The two ONE Championship athletes participated in a short Q&A session with the media ahead of their respective bouts at ONE: A NEW BREED — a live, closed-door, audience-free event scheduled today, 28 August in Bangkok.

Denice Zamboanga

Denice is scheduled to face Thai national judo champion Watsapinya “Dream Girl” Kaewkhong in a three-round mixed martial arts contest.

“My preparations for this fight have gone very well. I’m on weight, in fact, even a little under. I’m very excited for my next fight. This card is also special because I get to perform on the same night as my older brother Drex. I’m excited for his ONE Championship debut. Hopefully, we will both be successful in both of our fights. The goal has always been to become brother and sister world champions,” said Denice Zamboanga.

“I took this fight because I want to stay active, especially now that national borders are still closed. I grabbed the opportunity to fight in Thailand, since I’m already here. I’m not underestimating my opponent (Watsapinya Kaewkhong) at all. At this level, every opponent is top notch. Once everything goes back to normal, I know I will meet Angela Lee at some point. We’ve trained very hard. Our conditioning is great. We have a great game plan heading into this matchup.”

Drex Zamboanga

On the other side of the spectrum, 27-year-old Drex Zamboanga is ready to make his first appearance in the ONE Championship ring. Drex will take on Thai amateur mixed martial arts champion Detchadin “Detchpool” Sornsirisuphathin also in a three-round mixed martial arts contest.

“Everything has gone good so far here in Thailand. Even if we went on lockdown, we still got some good quality training in. We’re blessed to have the support of the Filipino people, and our Thai friends here. I’m glad to be in ONE Championship, making my debut. I’m happy and this is the first time me and Denice will be on a huge card together,” said Drex Zamboanga.

“This is also the first time I will perform in such a huge event with no audience. I’m inspired by the thought of my family back home watching me fight. This gives me extra motivation to put together my best performance. In fact, millions of fans around the world will be watching, so I have to showcase my skills and give it my all. I’m very excited for this Friday night. This is the biggest stage for mixed martial arts in Asia. It’s a completely different level. The ONE flyweight division is stacked with amazing talent, including my idol Demetrious Johnson, so I’m inspired by the possibilities. I welcome whatever challenges may come.”

The OPM Archive Foundation launches initiative to collect and digitalize Filipino music artifacts

The OPM Archive Foundation has announced its official plans to collect Filipino music memorabilia and champion digital archiving in a time that needs preservation of cultural artifacts. This was announced during the virtual presser last August 26, 2020.

The OPM Archive Foundation are the “next gen” members of the group, Moy Ortiz (President) Krina Cayabyab (Vice President) Dinah Remolacio (Treasurer) and Chevy Salvador (Secretary) while the more senior members will stay on as board members and advisers.

The archive is a separate entity from Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM) in that it will serve as a foundation that collects and documents not just the actual original Filipino music, but also narratives, photographs, music sheets and press releases. Originally, the term “OPM” referred to the inclusive period from the 70s to 80s when a rich influx of new and modern sounds, melodies, lyrics, singers and musicians flooded the airwaves, and even the theater, with original dance musicals as “Rama Hari” and “Tales of the Manuvu”. Among the familiar and popular voices that emerged, aside from Celeste Legaspi’s were Basil Valdez, Hajji Alejandro, Sampaguita, Mike Hanopol, Florante, Freddie Aguilar, Leah Navarro, Didith Reyes, just to name a few.

The archive, however, for the purposes of music research and study for future generations, shall extend its borders to the precedents of this era, the 60’s, and extend to the present, and hopefully can be sustained into the future, for the identification and recognition of music development. The accompanying narratives will seek to contextualize the music in its specific social relevance that defined each period, and perhaps identify continuity to the next period.

Plans for the OPM Archive gave rise before the lockdown, when the Filipinas Heritage Library (FHL), where the archive was to be housed, was ready to receive the hard copy donations. With the lockdown, FHL head, Suzanne Yupangco and the archive group agreed to go digital. This does not, however, preclude the collecting of hard copies once the quarantine period is over. There is nothing like seeing the original “in the flesh”. While each hard copy donation will be digitized, the original copies will also be preserved through actual preventive conservation, knowing how digitization alone can be prone to obsolescence because of evolving digital formats.

Music plays a major role in peoples’ lives. It is something everyone cares about. And the archive hopes to ensure that the musical gems it documents and collects will live on from generation to generation, so children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren can appreciate, learn from, and perhaps someday, revise, improvise, follow or change approaches to music.

The digital collection of the archieve is now available for viewing and open to the public for donations. Just log on to opmarchive.com.

The launch of the OPM Archive is an initiative of founding members of OPM, led by its founder and first president, Celeste Legaspi, with Girlie Rodis, Tats Rejante Manahan, Lyca Benitez Brown, next generation members, Moy Ortiz, Chevy Salvador, Dinah Remolacio and Krina Cayabyab.

Drex Zamboanga Beaming With Excitement Ahead of Global Debut With ONE Championship

Philippine MMA Champion Drex “T-Rex” Zamboanga wants to leave a lasting impression when he makes his highly-anticipated debut inside the ONE Championship ring this Friday night.

The 27-year-old veteran is scheduled to face Thailand’s Detchadin “Detchpool” Sornsirisuphathin in a three round mixed martial arts contest at ONE: A NEW BREED, a live, closed-door, audience-free event scheduled for 28 August in Bangkok, Thailand.

Ahead perhaps the biggest moment in his career thus far, Zamboanga is looking to score a statement-making victory with millions of fans watching around the world.

“I am super excited because this is my MMA debut in ONE Championship, and I feel so great to be a part of the largest martial arts organization in the world,” said Zamboanga.

“This is my first exposure on the big stage, on the number one promotion here in Asia. For me, I feel really excited because there’s a lot of very good fighters in the flyweight division. It’s a new challenge for me, and it gives me extra motivation to train more to reach my ultimate goal.”

An added incentive for Zamboanga in the upcoming event is getting the opportunity to perform on the same card as his younger sister Denice.

It’s a rare and special occasion when sibling martial artists make it to the highest level of competition and can compete on the same card. Both Drex and Denice are very thankful for the chance to do so at ONE: A NEW BREED. Drex, in particular, wants to use the platform to inspire others who look to follow in his footsteps.

“I’m very happy because both of us are fighting on the same card here in Bangkok. It’s the first time for us to compete on the same card in such a big organization. We did so before, when we were amateurs around six years ago, but that can’t compare to this moment,” Zamboanga said

“My dream here at ONE is to become the ONE Flyweight World Champion. But someday, I also want to be an inspiration and great role model to people who also want to become professional MMA fighters, like me.”

Like every martial arts athlete, Zamboanga has his eyes on becoming a ONE World Champion. But to get to where he wants to be, he has to beat the man in front of him first.

Detchadin Sornsirisuphathin is no walk in the park. The 30-year-old “Detchpool” is a Thai Amateur MMA Champion, who has trained with some of the best martial arts talent at Bangkok Fight Lab. Detchadin poses a huge threat to Zamboanga’s aspirations.

Nevertheless, Zamboanga is excited to finally get in the ring and perform, and announce his arrival on the global stage in epic fashion.

“Winning here in Bangkok is very important to me, because I put a lot of time and sacrifice into this just to win. We haven’t seen our family in a long time so we can stay here in Thailand and focus just on training,” said Zamboanga.

“This Friday night, I want to make sure I give my one hundred percent, to show people around the world my talent. It will be a great and amazing fight.”

ONE: A NEW BREED brings together the absolute best in local and international martial arts talent.

The headline bout features ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Stamp Fairtex of Thailand, who defends her title against promotional newcomer Allycia Hellen Rodrigues of Brazil.

In the co-main event, Muay Thai superstars Rodlek PK.Saenchaimuaythai gym and Kulabdam Sor. Jor. Piek Uthai square off in the final round of the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai Tournament. The winner will go on to challenge ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao at a later date.

Catch ONE: A New Breed live on TV5 & Cignal TV this coming Friday.

According to PhilPop Executive Director Dinah Remolacio, the entries underwent multiple rounds of selection process until Top 3 per clusters were handpicked. “We wanted our process to be inclusive so the decision making involved local and international representatives from Warner Music, representatives from our regional partner for each cluster, and representatives from PhilPop,” Remolacio shares in a statement.

The selection committee is headed by Festival Chair and PhilPop Musicfest National Artist Ryan Cayabyab, as well as Foundation Board Members, adjudicators, partners, and Warner Music Philippines Executives such as PhilPop Musicfest Foundation President Victorico P. Vargas, Festival Co-Chair and PhilPop Musicfest Foundation Board Member Noel Cabangon, PhilPop Musicfest Foundation Executive Director Dinah A. Remolacio, PhilPop Musicfest Foundation Lead Adjudicators Jungee Marcelo and Trina Belamide, Warner Music Philippines Managing Director Ian Monsod, MinPopMusicfest Director and Mindanao Cluster Partner Jeremy Sarmiento, and Kadasig Founder and Visayas Cluster Partner Jude Gitamondoc.

PhilPop is currently wrapping up its adjudication process for the remaining clusters namely: North Luzon, South Luzon, and Metro Manila. The finalists representing the remaining regions will be announced next month.

In terms of the selection of finalists from the Mindanao Cluster, MinPopMusicfest Director Jeremy Sarmiento takes pride of how the top three finalists took inspiration from various sources, yet their songs sounded truly ‘Mindanaoan’ in terms of cultural context and identity. Sarmiento also cited the importance of regional representation, and how this platform helpsin introducing different stories and diverse experiences through music. “There’s no better way to achieve that than giving an opportunity to those in the regions to tell their own stories. Representation provides a reflection of each of their languages, ideals, feelings and that’s what we ultimately need to understand each other better, the uniqueness of the Filipinos, expressed through songs.”

Kadasig Founder and Visayas Cluster Partner Jude Gitamondoc is also optimistic about their official picks for the Visayas cluster, citing diversity and universal appeal as two of main reasons that make these songs a standout in the competition. “I think the songs chosen to represent the Visayas are a great representation of the region,” says Gitamondoc. “We have an electronic-infused track, another one that’s soulful, and another that’s folksy. That pretty much shows how varied the musicality is in the Visayas. We are at the center of the country. We are a melting pot of cultures, influences, and ideas.”

PhilPop Songwriting Festival 2020 is an initiative of the PhilPop Music Foundation, chaired by Mr. Manny V. Pangilinan. This year’s PhilPop is co-presented by SMART, MERALCO, and MAYNILAD, with official partners, Warner Music Philippines, Kadasig, and MinPop.

Bangkok, Thailand: The largest global sports media property in Asian history, ONE Championship™ (ONE), once again electrified the bustling Thai capital of Bangkok with another spectacular evening of world-class martial arts action. ONE: NO SURRENDER III, a closed-door, audience-free event showcased the absolute best in local and international martial arts talent.

In the main event, 21-year-old Thai phenom “Left Meteorite” Kulabdam Sor. Jor. Piek Uthai notched the biggest win of his young career, stopping top-rated countryman “The Million Dollar Baby” Sangmanee Klong SuanPluResort to advance to the final round of the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai Tournament. The two men exchanged fiery combinations at the center of the ONE Championship ring to start the contest. Sangmanee was loose and relaxed, as Kulabdam launched sharp uppercuts and hooks from just out of range. However, an explosive left straight toward the end of the first round connected for Kulabdam, tagging Sangmanee flush to the jaw. Sangmanee was out cold before he hit the ground, as Kulabdam walked away with an emphatic knockout victory.

In a ONE Super Series flyweight Muay Thai contest, Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion Mongkolpetch Petchyindee Academy of Thailand put forth a striking clinic, thwarting an aggressive but outclassed opponent in Kun Khmer World Champion Sok Thy of Cambodia. Sok Thy started the first round attacking aggressively, moving forward while Mongkolpetch opted to counter from range. In the second round, Mongkolpetch continued to use his height and reach advantage, keeping Sok Thy at bay with accurate combinations and superior length. In the final frame, Mongkolpetch turned up the intensity, proceeding to outwork Sok Thy en route to a unanimous decision victory after three rounds.

Thai Naksu Champion and ONE Championship veteran Shannon “OneShin” Wiratchai spoiled WBC Muay Thai Champion Fabio Pinca’s highly-anticipated mixed martial arts debut, winning by close split decision after three rounds. Wiratchai started strong in the early going, controlling the pace with well-placed counters, and dropping Pinca at the end of the first round. Pinca opened up the second round with slicing elbows on the inside, but a spinning backfist from Wiratchai dropped the Frenchman. In the third and final round, Pinca turned up the aggression as he got more comfortable on the feet. Wiratchai used his superior experience to stay out of harm’s way, edging Pinca out slightly on the judges’ scorecards.

2-time Thailand Muay Thai Champion Wondergirl Fairtex put together a smashing performance, using speed and power to overwhelm WBC Oceania Muay Thai Champion Brooke Farrell of Australia in her ONE Super Series debut. Wondergirl showcased her pinpoint accuracy, connecting on a variety of punch combinations from range. A series of right hands then dropped Farrell just a couple of minutes into the round. As soon as the Australian got back to her feet, Wondergirl swarmed her opponent with straight punches to complete the impressive first round knockout.

In a ONE Super Series atomweight Muay Thai contest, Estonian “Snow Leopard” Marie Ruumet impressed in her ONE Super Series debut, defeating game but overmatched opponent Little Tiger of Japan after three exciting rounds. Ruumet was effective with her reach and timing, staying tall while attacking Tiger with roundhouse kicks, step through elbows, and a stream of powerful knees in the clinch. Though Tiger never backed down, Ruumet’s constant pressure continued through rounds two and three and proved too much for the Japanese athlete to overcome. In the end, all three judges scored the bout in favor of Ruumet to win by unanimous decision.

Kicking off the action at ONE: NO SURRENDER III, UKFC Featherweight Champion Ben Royle of the United Kingdom made a successful ONE Championship debut, scoring the first knockout of his career with a TKO victory over the United States’ Quitin Thomas. Though the two athletes are primarily grapplers, the entire bout was spent on the feet as both men preferred to trade strikes at the center of the ONE Championship ring. A leg kick hurt Thomas in the second round, and the American was close to being finished, but Royle had difficulty putting his opponent away. Instead, he put the finishing touches in the third round, stopping Thomas with a perfectly executed standing combination.
