Vietjet reports impressive 2025 results, including a 47% increase in Q4 revenue and an expansion of its global network

*Launched Manila – Ho Chi Minh service in Q4/2025

Strong revenue and profit gains in the fourth quarter and the entire year of 2025 were announced by Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (HOSE: VJC), highlighting the airline’s adaptable and efficient operational capabilities. These outcomes give Vietjet a strong base on which to build its ambitious worldwide expansion plans for 2026.

Effective operations sustain profit growth momentum

According to its financial documents, Vietjet achieved consolidated revenue of VND82.093 trillion (about. US$3.16 billion) for the full year, an increase of 14% YoY. Separate revenue increased 47% year over year to VND29.035 trillion (about US$1.11 billion) in Q4 of 2025.

The airline’s separate gross profit for 2025 stood at VND8.213 trillion (approx. US$316.2 million), driven by network expansion and lower fuel costs compared to the previous year.

The airline’s profitability increased in 2025. For the full year, consolidated post-tax profit reached VND2.123 trillion (approx. US$81.7 million), growing 51.2%, and exceeding 120% of the annual plan.

As of December 31, 2025, Vietjet’s total assets reached VND139.459 trillion (approx. US$5.37 billion). The net debt-to-equity ratio stood at 2.25, while the liquidity ratio reached 1.53, among the strongest in the aviation industry.

During the year, Vietjet successfully issued 50 million shares, increasing equity by VND5 trillion (approx. US$192.6 million), to support long-term growth.

Expanding flight network drives market leadership

In 2025, the airline carried 28.2 million passengers on 153,000 flights, representing YoY growth of 9% and 11.2%, respectively. In Q4/2025 alone, Vietjet transported more than 6.7 million passengers across 36,100 flights.

Vietjet continues to hold the leading market share in Vietnam by passenger volumes across both domestic and international markets.

The airline currently operates 254 routes, including 52 domestic and 202 international services, and launched 22 new routes last year, connecting Vietnam to key destinations, including Central Asia and China. Notably, this included the launch of weekly direct flights between Manila and Ho Chi Minh City in Q4/2025.

Strengthening international cooperation and long-term investment

Q4/2025 marked major milestones in the Vietjet’s long-term investment strategy, with the delivery of 22 new aircraft, representing the airline’s largest fleet expansion since its establishment.

During the year, Vietjet signed an agreement with Airbus to buy 100 A321neo aircraft, along with a separate contract with Rolls-Royce for 92 Trent 7000 engines and comprehensive maintenance services, valued at US$3.8 billion.

Strengthening customer experience through innovation, technology and global awards

Vietjet continued to expand its service offerings, including Business class tickets, the SkyJoy loyalty program, in-flight retail, multi-channel booking and payment platforms, and its AI virtual assistant, Amy. Operational upgrades included the adoption of biometric identification at check-in to improve service efficiency.

In 2025, Vietjet received several international recognitions, including:

  • World’s Safest Airlines and Best Ultra Low-Cost Airline (AirlineRatings)
  • Asia’s Leading Airline for Customer Service (World Travel Awards)
  • Most Valuable Airline Brands in ASEAN 2025 (Brand Finance)
  • Gold Award at ESG Transport Sustainability Awards (Taiwan)

Vietjet is well-positioned to pursue sustainable growth and global expansion in 2026 thanks to its solid financial performance, quickly growing fleet, strengthened operational capabilities, and increased international partnerships.

As LIFT intensifies its first MassKara experience, festival attendees dared to switch

Festival-goers joined the fun as LIFT brought its bold spirit to MassKara for the first time.

With its debut at the MassKara Festival, Coca-Cola Philippines’ newest beverage, LIFT, gave the streets of Bacolod a thrilling lift. As thousands of festival attendees took on the “Dare to Switch” challenge, the three-day activity along Lacson Street became one of the most talked-about locations.

Exciting activities that embodied LIFT’s daring challenger attitude were at the center of the activation. Participants showed their strength at the LIFT UpBar, struck imaginative postures at the LIFT Art Photo Wall, and demonstrated their steadfast attention and coordination at the LIFT Bottle Up challenge. They also raced against the clock to solve the LIFT Maze. Every game pushed players’ boundaries, gave them more self-assurance, and inspired them to keep going.

Attendees eagerly joined the activities at the grand LIFT booth, won exclusive prizes, and captured their unforgettable MassKara moments.

The LIFT booth buzzed with excitement as festival-goers lined up to take their shot at beating the timer and outscoring others. Many also stopped to capture their share-worthy moments at the booth and turned the experience into an online celebration of the challenger mindset. Across every challenge, the LIFT booth became a space where high spirits met determination, proving that anyone can dare to switch.

“LIFT’s first-ever MassKara activation was a celebration of the bold spirit that defines both the brand and the festival,” said Frenissa Mae Lagman, Frontline Marketing Senior Director of Coca-Cola Philippines. “MassKara is all about uplifting the Filipino spirit, and LIFT embodies that same drive — to face every challenge with confidence and dare to switch when it’s time to level up.”

After electrifying thousands of attendees and introducing more Filipinos to the brand’s spirit of challenge, LIFT left its imprint as the festival came to a conclusion. Are you prepared to change? LIFT is currently offered in sari-sari stores in Western Visayas, and there will be more activities and events around the country.

To find out where the Dare to Switch experience is going next, follow LIFT Philippines on Facebook and Instagram.

The Thousand-Year Journey: Dissecting the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage in Japan

The Kumano Kodo in Japan is a journey that continues long after the trail finishes for those who find meaning in walking. For more than a millennium, monarchs, monks, and common people have traveled along these historic pilgrimage routes, which are tucked away in the Kii Peninsula’s wooded highlands. You may now traverse the same peaceful towns, stop at the same shrines, and walk the same stone steps.

The Kumano Sanzan, which consists of the three magnificent shrines of Hongu Taisha, Hayatama Taisha, and Nachi Taisha, are in the center of the pilgrimage pathways. They collectively constitute the Kumano faith’s spiritual center. The chief shrine of more than 3,000 Kumano shrines in Japan is Hongu Taisha; the gods who are claimed to have descended to earth are enshrined at Hayatama Taisha; and Nachi Taisha is located next to Japan’s largest waterfall, which has long been regarded as a sacred location.

The trails are open year-round, but autumn is a favorite among travelers. The weather is cool and comfortable, and the mountains glow with red and gold leaves that make the walks even more memorable.

The Ohechi Route

The Ohechi follows the coastline, tying the Kumano Sanzan shrines to the vast Pacific. It’s not as busy as the inland trails, but that’s part of its charm. Along the way, you’ll find a dramatic view of the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding islands. You’ll also come across the rustic Sodo-Ji temple, housing history’s most famous calligraphy displays.

When it’s time for a break from trekking, sail around the Hikigawa river with the Ago-no-Watshi Ferry–a traditional boat that still connects both banks the way it has for generations. Be sure to check the available schedules and book the boat ride at least 2 days in advance.

The Iseji Route

Pilgrims from eastern Japan once walked the Iseji to connect the Ise Grand Shrine with the Kumano shrines. Today, the path winds through tea fields, fishing villages, and steep stone-paved climbs.

You’ll come across the Maruyama Senmaida rice terraces, where over a thousand fields spread across the hillside in patterns that shift beautifully with each season. By the coast rises Shishiiwa, a massive rock shaped like a lion’s head that seems to watch over travelers and the waves below. The Iseji Route feels rooted in everyday life, exhibiting how locals have lived alongside the pilgrimage for centuries.

The Nakahechi Route

The Nakahechi is the most traveled trail, and for good reason. Japanese emperors once made their way along this path, and modern hikers still follow in their footsteps. Along the way you can pause at the Toganoki-jaya Teahouse, a simple rest stop that recalls the days of old pilgrims.

The trail passes through Takahara Village, a mountainous town known for its bright terraced rice fields. Over several days through the Nakagechi Route, you’ll cross mountain passes, stop in small hot spring towns, and rest at family-run inns that have welcomed travelers for generations.

The Kohechi Route

The Kohechi is for those who crave challenge. Linking Koyasan, Japan’s sacred monastic center, with the Kumano shrines, it climbs over remote mountain passes where solitude and silence are the true companions. Get ready to traverse the Obako-tōge Pass, one of Kohechi’s most formidable climbs with jagged paths that test even seasoned hikers.

Not long after, the trail descends into the high-altitude Hatenashi settlement, also known as the “village in the sky” and celebrated among Japan’s 100 most beautiful villages. This ridge-top village is anchored by stone-paved paths, welcoming locals, fresh spring wells, and a misty atmosphere that feels untouched by time.

This trail may be demanding, but it’s also the most rewarding, and for many, that effort becomes part of the pilgrimage itself.

How to get there

The Kumano Kodo is accessible from both Osaka and Nagoya, making it easy to set out on any of the four paths. From Osaka, you can take the JR limited express from Shin-Osaka  Station down to the Kii Peninsula. The train makes several stops along the way, including Kii-Tanabe, Shirahama, Kushimoto, and Kii-Katsuura.

If you’re coming from Nagoya, the JR Nanki limited express runs along the eastern side of the peninsula. It stops at Owase, Kumano-shi, Shingu, and also connects to Kii-Katsuura.

For those planning to explore the region, consider getting an Ise-Kumano-Wakayama Area Pass. It’s valid for five days and covers both train and bus routes, making it easier to get around without worrying about multiple tickets.

Dual Pilgrim

If you’ve completed both Spain’s Camino de Santiago and the Kumano Kodo, you become recognized as a “Dual Pilgrim” for walking both UNESCO World Heritage World pilgrimage routes. It’s a reminder that these trails, though far apart, share a spirit of endurance and devotion.

There are various reasons why people visit the Kumano Kodo. There are those who aspire to be like monks and monarchs. The forests, the views of the mountains, or the sense of traveling back in time as you pass past villages and temples are what attract other people. And a lot of people just come to slow down and find peace on a path that allows you to go at your own speed.

To walk these routes is to enter a tradition that has been carried by innumerable individuals for more than a millennium. It’s also a chance to design your own path, one that you’ll remember long after you’ve left the mountains.

2GO Travel Joins DTI’s OTOP Program to Promote Local Goods Throughout the Philippine Seas

(L–R) 2GO Travel Head of Product Development George Clayton P. Narag; PhilExport Region 12 Chapter President Cecilia Loquias; PhilExport Head Office Vice President for Promotions Leonor Abella; Head of DTI Regional Operations Group Undersecretary Blesila Lantayona; 2GO Travel Business Unit Head Francis John Chua; DTI Region 12 Regional Director Flora D. Politud-Gabunales, CESO V; and 2GO Travel AVP for F&B, Ancillary, and Hotel Operations Roland Sunga.

Through its Biyahe2Business campaign, 2GO, the leading maritime travel company in the Philippines, has formally partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to promote locally produced goods under the One Town, One Product (OTOP) initiative. By showcasing their OTOP products in special kiosks on board 2GO Travel vessels, the partnership seeks to increase market visibility for local MSMEs. Every trip is transformed into a display of local cuisine, handicrafts, and Filipino pride thanks to this project.

OTOP items from Region 12 are the first to be highlighted under the Biyahe2Business program, marking the official start of the partnership. In collaboration with the local DTI office, MV 2GO Masinag will have a dedicated OTOP nook that will showcase approved products. Additional 2GO vessels will soon have access to more OTOP displays from different regions.

This initiative supports DTI’s Supply Chain and Logistics Center (SCLC), a platform that provides real-time logistics information, market linkages, and capacity-building programs for MSMEs.

“This collaboration allows DTI regional offices to bring and promote their products across islands through creative and practical logistics solutions,” said DTI-12 Regional Director and DTI-RAPID Growth Project National Director Flora D. Politud-Gabunales, CESO V. “Through this, 2GO has opened new opportunities for MSMEs to reach more customers and for travelers to discover authentic Filipino flavors and craftsmanship from across the country.”

The partnership aligns with 2GO Travel’s ongoing commitment to empower small businesses by improving access to transport and logistics solutions through the 2GO Travel’s Biyahe2Business platform. With this program, 2GO bridges the gap between local entrepreneurs and wider markets, ensuring that Filipino-made products can travel as far and as proudly as the people who create them.

“This partnership underscores our long-term commitment to help small businesses thrive by providing flexible, affordable, and reliable transport solutions,” said Francis John Chua, Business Unit Head for 2GO Travel. “With our generous 50KG luggage allowance, SMEs can move their products and supplies more freely across islands. This advantage supports their growth and reach. At 2GO, we believe sea travel is not only about connecting destinations, but also about connecting communities, celebrating culture, and enabling commerce. Through this initiative, we bring the best of every region to more Filipinos.”

As DTI’s official travel and logistics partner, 2GO Travel will provide group tour packages and exclusive MSME travel discounts in addition to exhibiting local goods. These initiatives will give business owners reliable and affordable mobility options. 2GO keeps improving national connectivity for business and trade by providing direct flights from Manila to important trading hubs including Iloilo, Bacolod, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, and its newest destinations, Davao and General Santos City.

In accordance with the agreement, 2GO will also support Logistics Support Desks at specific Negosyo Centers in strategic areas and offer consulting and logistics advice services catered to MSME needs.

The third Travel Sale Expo (TSE) finished its eagerly awaited run at the SM Megamall Megatrade Hall from September 26–28, 2025, solidifying its position as the nation’s leading travel expo. arranged by Oneklik Events and the Global Tourism Business Association (GTBA), with assistance from the Department of Tourism (DOT), the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA), Boracay Malay, Aklan, LGU, Tourism Malaysia, Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and several embassies, including the embassies of Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, India, and Brunei. Over 200 booth exhibitors from the airline, hotel, cruise, and tour industries attended the three-day event, which attracted tens of thousands of eager tourists and industry participants.

This year’s TSE, which had as its subject “Your Gateway to the World,” brought together domestic and foreign partners that provided passengers with incredible deals, exclusive packages, and flexible payment arrangements. From international favorites like Taiwan, Malaysia, and Vietnam to local treasures like Boracay, Bohol, and Cebu, the exhibition featured travel destinations suitable for all kinds of tourists, whether they were traveling for leisure, culture, or for spiritual reasons.

The third edition of the Travel Sale Expo (TSE) successfully concluded last September 26–28, 2025, at the SM Megamall Megatrade Hall, further cementing its place as the country’s premier travel fair. Organized by GTBA and Oneklik Events, with the support of DOT, PRA, several LGUs, and international embassies, the event gathered over 200 exhibitors from airlines, hotels, cruises, and tour sectors. With its theme “Your Gateway to the World,” the expo brought together local and international partners offering exclusive packages, unbeatable deals, and flexible payment terms to travelers eager to explore both nearby and faraway destinations.

I had the chance to visit on the second day of the expo, roaming around the booths was such an enjoyable experience as I got to learn about the latest travel destinations, not just within the Philippines but also abroad. It was exciting to see a wide variety of options, from domestic gems like Boracay, Bohol, Siargao, Palawan and Cebu to international favorites such as Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam and Guam.

What made the experience even more memorable was being able to attend some of the talks, especially those about traveling. Listening to the speakers gave me fresh insights and ideas, and I enjoyed every bit of it. Lastly, I really enjoyed the performance of their guest artist, Darren Espanto. Overall, my short visit was truly worthwhile—it fueled my wanderlust and left me inspired to plan more trips in the future.

GTBA Founding Chairman and TSE Chairperson Michelle Taylan said the event aims to open the doors for the general public to see the world. “We are moving towards democratizing travel for the everyday Filipino. The Travel Sale Expo is designed to make dream trips accessible, affordable, and stress-free. It’s not just about YOLO or FOMO anymore—people want smarter, value-packed travel choices, and that’s what we deliver,” Taylan said.

Beyond offering markdowns on airfare and packages, the event also served as a networking hub for the tourism industry. Seminars and dialogues between local suppliers, international operators, and government agencies facilitated discussions on emerging travel trends, halal tourism, and sustainable growth opportunities.

A major highlight this year was the expanded partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), which worked alongside the Department of Tourism (DOT) to spotlight local products and services that reflect the Philippines’ rich culture and heritage. This collaboration also emphasized promoting Muslim-friendly travel, strengthening the country’s position as a welcoming destination for ASEAN neighbors and beyond.

The expo’s immersive experience didn’t stop at deals and bookings. Attendees were treated to surprise performances, interactive booths, and travel essentials pop-ups from global retail brands. According to GTBA, these value-added experiences are designed to encourage Filipinos to see travel as more than just a luxury, but as an integral lifestyle choice that supports livelihoods and boosts the economy.

GTBA Founding Chairman and TSE Chairperson Michelle Taylan

“Events like TSE are not only about promoting destinations, but also about creating jobs and strengthening the entire tourism value chain. We are proud to provide a platform that uplifts both the industry and the traveling public,” Taylan added.

Launched in 2023, the Travel Sale Expo has rapidly grown into a premier event in the country’s tourism calendar. This year’s edition exceeded expectations, cementing its role as a key platform for affordable travel opportunities. Building on its success, GTBA-Oneklik and its partners are gearing up for an even grander celebration in 2026, continuing their mission to make global travel more accessible for Filipinos.
