PACU and PLDT Collaborate to Provide e-Learning Tools

The Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACU) recently partnered with PLDT Enterprise to help and support its 196 member schools, as the education sector shifts to e-Learning amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through the collaboration, PLDT Enterprise will be providing PACU’s member schools with SMART Giga Study plans and curated services for e-Learning. The tools can be customized for each learning institution and updated to keep pace with schools’ evolving needs.

SMART’s Giga Study plans are especially developed prepaid packages that includes daily data allocations for online learning tools. It also provides open data allocations to access information vital to the online needs of both learners and faculty members.

The Microsoft Education is another solution offered by PLDT Enterpise to PACU’s member schools. Microsoft Education is a complete e-Learning solution with educational tools designed to enable engagements and focused learning within and outside the classroom for students and teachers. It also includes a learning management system that hosts a collaborative environment via SharePoint on the Microsoft 365 platform. PACU’s member schools are free to choose the e-Learning package according to their requirements and system capabilities.

Additionaly, a mobile broadband that comes bundled with devices and collaboration tools can be accessible for PACU member schools.This will allow students and faculty to access their LMS and other sites used for research. A dedicated 24/7 technical support, which is accessible through 177, will address any problems that PACU member schools will encounter.

A three-part webinar titled “#ONEwithYOU: A Virtual Learning Series for the Academe” was streamed on their official Facebook page on July 1, 2020. The virtual webinar addresses challenges in online learning and discuss how Philippine education can remain resilient. With this, PACU and PLDT are smoothing the transition to e-Learning.
