It was announced in a press launch earlier this week that the popular “Shark Tank” show which has been helping aspiring entrepreneurs since 2009 can now be watched on Skycable’s TechStorm channel. No more enrolling to universities; no more expensive books, just a monthly subscription on Skycable is enough to give you access to some of the most influential businessmen in the U.S.

The show was launched last July 11, at co-working space Acceler8 in Rockwell, Makati via a panel discussion on tech start-ups in the country which featured (from left): Debbie Lee, Techstorm Founder & CEO, also the moderator; Butch Meily, President of QBO Innovation Hub; Willy Foo, Southeast Asia Tech Celebrity Influencer and Diane Eustaquio, Executive Director of Ideaspace Foundation, Inc.

“Shark Tank” is a reality show where budding entrepreneurs get the chance to bring their dreams to fruition. They present their ideas to the sharks in the tank —six titans of industry who made their own dreams a reality and turned their ideas into lucrative empires.

Filipinos will be acquainted with these sharks including the owner of Softkey and O’Leary Funds Kevin O’Leary; longstanding shark investor tBarbara Corcoran;FUBU CEO and President Daymond John;actor, author and owner of Herjavec GroupRobert Herjavec;NBA’s Dallas Mavericks’ owner Mark Cuban; and Queen of QVC Lori Greiner.

In “Shark Tank,” contestants try to convince any one of the sharks to invest money in their idea. When more than one of the sharks decide they want a piece of the action, a bidding war can erupt, driving up the price of the investment.
