Are You Prepared? Attend the Final Leg of the 2023 TGR Vios Cup to witness the Grand Prix!

On November 11, 2023, at Clark International Speedway in Pampanga, Toyota Motor Philippines will host the Grand Prix to conclude the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) Vios Cup 2023 season. This will be another historic weekend.

TGR fans may anticipate a thrilling finish to the Vios Cup this year, complete with thunderous applause and heart-pounding action as competitors fight for a spot on the podium for the season championship. The Circuit Championship’s Grand Prix will serve as the flagship event to raise the stakes.

The final race of the season will be the TGR Vios Cup Grand Prix, following which the winners will be announced. The race is won by the driver who completes the most laps during the allotted 1.5 hours on the racetrack. Since every competitor receives double points in this round, the endurance drive will be the decisive race.

A total of 30 racers across the three classes—Super Sporting, Sporting and Promotional—will be at the grid at the same time and will each have a mandatory pitstop, bringing the competition to the next level of thrill and excitement.

The exhilarating weekend will be made even hotter by Super Sporting class racing stars Red Diwa, Lord Seno, Joaquin Garrido, Gerard Loy, Troy Montero, John Dizon, Bryan Co, Royce Sarmiento, Ian Rosales and season newcomer Jacob Ang.

A mix of pro and neophyte racers will join the Sporting class, namely Alan Palacios, Russel Cabrera, Michael Keilani Jordan, Jay Lai, Bern Corpino, Marky Young and Maila Alivia. Father and son Darrell Garbes and Jiro Garbes and Golden Wheel Awards Foundation Driver of the Year Miguel Quiñones will also run this race.

Watch out for TGR racers in the Promotional class: Jarond Mesina, Alain Alzona, Bong Garbes, Paolo Ayo, Chris Gleeson, Rich Lim and Paul Ang. Celebrities Enzo Pineda and Ryan Agoncillo will also join in the fun as will Julia Delos Angeles, who started her Vios Cup journey at just 16 years old.

Catch crowd favorites Macoy Dubs, Megan Young and Benedict Cua as they bring excitement and competition in the Autocross Challenge. They will be joined by a diverse mix of racers comprised of Ezra Domingo, Genesis Redido, Apple David, Arianne Bautista, Reph Bangsil, Migy Romulo, Bianca Yao, Carla Lizardo and Lexi Mendiola.

Aside from Circuit Championship and Autocross Challenge, this leg will also start with a drifting exhibition featuring TGR Team’s Ryan Agoncillo and Filipino pride racers, Luis Gono and Alex Perez. TGR Vios Cup media class alums Jamil Lacuna of Autoindustriya and Pablo Salapantan of YugaAuto will also be back on the tracks this leg in an exhibition Autocross Challenge with another former media class champion, Jose Altoveros.

To further ignite the GAZOO spirit, people can check out the GR-S lineup featuring Fortuner GR-S and Rush GR-S, which will be displayed in the TGR Vios Cup 2023 activity area. Sponsors also prepared different games and activities for audience to enjoy. And, wrapping off the heart-pumping cheer, up-and-coming indie band Sunkissed Lola will perform and set the mood for the racers and audience at the speedway.

Bridgestone and Petron are working together to stage the third leg of the TGR Vios Cup. Additionally, Denso, AVT, 3M, ROTA, Tuason Racing, Kinto, and myToyota wallet are supporting this race.

Recognizing the Distinction Between Credit Scores

Credit is a useful instrument for assisting people in reaching their financial objectives. Those with credit access can make purchases today, on the basis of an agreement to pay for products and services later.

But it’s crucial to understand the difference between “bad” credit—which is unaffordable—and responsible credit, or “good” credit.

The difference between good and bad credit

Whether it’s used for purchases that improve one’s quality of life, to handle unexpected bills, or to take advantage of certain perks such as rewards points or special discounts, good credit is credit that a borrower can affordably repay.

As credit is a tool, there are cases where tools can be misused. Credit becomes bad credit when you use it to take on debt you can’t afford to repay. The longer you go without paying, the more likely you could run into fees, damage your credit score, see interest rise, and possibly face legal issues. By saddling yourself with the responsibility to take care of unaffordable outstanding debts, you run the risk of closing yourself off from better economic opportunities that credit used responsibly can unlock.

The impact of bad credit

The repercussions of taking on bad credit can be seen as a possible contributing factor to the negative stigma surrounding credit in the Philippines. In the country, the word credit is synonymous with the Tagalog word “utang” which carries notions of bad debt and financial irresponsibility.

The recent TransUnion Philippines Credit Perception Index study highlighted how negative stigma has shaped how Filipinos see credit. Findings showed that 58% of Filipinos believe that users of credit products tend to overspend while 55% do not want to be indebted.

As a result, in lieu of turning to formal financial institutions, there is a high reliance among Filipinos on family, friends, and other informal sources of borrowing. These sources include unregulated “5-6” moneylenders who issue small loans with often high interest charges over an agreed period, and “sangla-ATM” schemers who require physical ATM cards and a person’s personal identification numbers (PIN) as collateral for loans. Relying on these measures often puts borrowers at huge disadvantages that make it difficult for them to break free from their debts.

The importance of championing responsible credit use

While much work remains to be done to fully dispel the negative stigma surrounding credit in the country, more Filipinos are seeing the opportunities that come from having access to credit. Findings from the Q3 2023 TransUnion Philippines Consumer Pulse Study showed that 62% of Filipinos agreed that credit can help them access new opportunities that can lead to a better quality of life (i.e. buying a house, starting a business, financing my education, buying a car) – an increase of four percentage points from findings in Q2 2023.

Additional results from the study found that 72% of Filipinos agree that credit is widely available and easy to apply for as long as good financial management is demonstrated, an increase of four percentage points from the previous quarter. Asked whether they were comfortable owning credit accounts such as loans and credit cards, 41% of Filipinos expressed being comfortable, an increase of six percentage points from Q2 2023.

With perceptions changing and with more Filipinos growing accustomed to the ownership of credit products, the formal financial sector must continue to work together on educating Filipinos on responsible credit use and how it can pave the way towards better financial inclusion in the country.

To help promote responsible credit use, TransUnion Philippines’ credit reporting solutions help people understand and improve their credit status. Checking your credit report can help consumers stay informed of factors affecting their credit score and can help them take action to improve it. This can help people act to improve their credit standing faster.

Other data, including telco data, is a useful tool for evaluating consumers’ creditworthiness, especially for New-to-Credit (NTC) consumers who are limited by their lack of credit history. TransUnion Philippines, a global provider of risk information, helps lenders find lower-risk borrowers and offers them better terms and pricing on credit products and services by leveraging information and insights from alternative data. When TransUnion Philippines uses information for good, it means this.

Opportunities are created by credit. It is feasible for more Filipinos to achieve more in life by emphasizing the advantages of having excellent credit and persistently promoting education on the proper use of credit.

LionhearTV honor the 9th RAWR Awards, which recognize excellence in entertainment

The entertainment-lifestyle website LionhearTV is hard at work getting ready for the 9th RAWR Awards, having just celebrated its 15th anniversary in October. This yearly celebration of excellence in the dynamic showbiz sector is a testament to LionhearTV’s persistent commitment to doing so.

The RAWR Awards have evolved into a stunning show, attracting not only the enthusiastic support of PR groups and fans passionately backing their favorite nominees, but also the strong support of 250 new media practitioners (bloggers) from all over the Philippines.

The inception of the RAWR Awards traces back to 2015, an era when the blogging community was burgeoning. However, it was evident that there was a conspicuous gap in acknowledging and honoring the voices of bloggers and their ardent readers. To fill this void, LionhearTV conceived the RAWR Awards.

Year after year, the RAWR Awards are presented through the LionhearTV.net platform, aptly christened after the mighty lion, symbolizing the strength and influence these awardees hold in the entertainment sphere. These accolades are dedicated to individuals who have left an indelible mark on the industry.

In the nascent stages, the awards were exclusively organized by LionhearTV, with victors chosen by the website’s loyal readers. Over time, the voting process extended to encompass more than 100 bloggers from various regions of the Philippines, each representing a diverse niche within the bustling blogging community. Despite the vicissitudes encountered along this journey, the unwavering commitment to this cause remains steadfast, driven by the belief that this represents the collective voice of the blogging community, a voice deserving of recognition and acclaim within the broader entertainment panorama.

The RAWR Awards are divided into four principal categories: Lion, Cub, Pride, and SILOG Awards. The Cub Awards encompass nine subcategories, encompassing distinctions such as Beshie ng Taon, Favorite Bida, Favorite Kontrabida, Breakthrough Artist, Favorite Newbie, Bet na Bet na Teleserye, Song of the Year, Movie of the Year, and Digital Series. The Lion Awards feature nine categories, venerating luminaries including the Actor of the Year, Actress of the Year, Pak na Pak na Comedian, Male News Personality of the Year, Female News Personality of the Year, Love Team of the Year, Favorite Performer of the Year, Favorite TV Host, and Favorite DJ. The Pride Awards, on the other hand, encapsulate four categories, paying homage to entities such as the Radio Station of the Year, TV Station of the Year, Favorite Group, and Fan Club of the Year. Lastly, the SILOG Awards boast an impressive array of 17 categories, celebrating digital influencers and content creators, spanning domains like Art, Content Creation, Cosplay, Couples, Digital Influence, Drag, Fashion/Beauty, Food/Travel, Gaming, Health/Fitness, Influencer Families, LGBTQIA, Parenting, Podcasts, Streaming, Short-Form Vlogging, and Long-Form Vlogging.

The RAWR Awards, with a cumulative count of 31 categories, in conjunction with the SILOG Awards, featuring 17 categories, furnish the Philippine entertainment industry with an illustrious platform for appreciation and commendation.

Fans play a pivotal role in determining the victors, holding 66.66% of the voting authority. This authority is parceled into two equitable segments: 33.33% from online votes via the official website and KTX and another 33.33% from online searches conducted within LionhearTV, Dailypedia, and PH Entertainment. The remaining 33.33% is contributed by the blogging community, PR entities, and brand partners.

The RAWR Awards do more than just honor local talent; they also work to strengthen relationships with partners who have similar values and goals. With these honors, LionhearTV.net would like to express its sincere appreciation to all of the supporters who have supported the website since its launch.

The RAWR Awards website on LionhearTV is currently hosting live polls where you can cast your votes for your favorite nominees in each of their respective categories. Voting will run until 11:59 p.m. on December 4.

Raise your hand and make your voice heard in honoring the top performers in Philippine entertainment.

It’s the present-giving season! Check out Home Credit’s thorough gift recommendations this holiday season

The time to select the ideal presents for your loved ones is drawing near as the holiday season approaches. Even though it’s the most delightful time of year, one of the difficulties that most people face during this time of year is having to make a lot of decisions while sticking to a specific budget.

Luckily, Home Credit, the leading consumer finance company, is here to make your holiday season merrier as it now offers 0% interest on different installment options across a wide range of products. This means you can now give your loved ones the best presents during this festive time of the year without breaking the bank, just as shared in this video.

Here are some excellent suggestions for gifts that you may purchase with Home Credit if you’re wondering what to get:

Excellent everyday gadget companions

As technology is now an important part of our daily lives, gadgets make excellent presents this holiday season. With reliable or powerful features, these devices can serve as your loved ones’ everyday companions, providing them with essential tools to stay connected, increase their productivity, and improve their entertainment.

If you are looking for perfect devices for your loved ones, Home Credit offers a range of options you can consider. You can surprise your loved ones with smartphones equipped with excellent cameras and high-performing specifications, all wrapped in long-lasting and stylish designs, such as iPhone 11 and Realme 11 Pro Plus 5G.

For more versatile gadgets that can seamlessly handle your loved ones’ work and play, tablets are the best option. By gifting the likes of Xiaomi Pad 6 and Huawei Matepad 11.5, you can provide a well-rounded experience with its incredible features, enabling your loved ones to excel in their everyday tasks.

Enhance productivity and entertainment with laptops

Laptops offer the power and flexibility to handle a wide range of tasks—be it for work or school. With their powerful features packed into a portable device, you can allow your loved ones this holiday season to be productive anywhere, especially now that we’re embracing a digital lifestyle.

Aside from that, laptops also deliver immersive entertainment experiences with their vibrant displays and powerful processors and graphic cards. This allows your loved ones to enjoy their leisure and relaxation as laptops can cater to various entertainment preferences, such as playing graphically intensive games and streaming shows and movies, among others.

With that in mind, consider gifting your loved ones with laptops that will elevate both their productivity and entertainment experiences. Models like the Acer Nitro 5, Huawei MateBook D15, Apple MacBook Air MGND3PP/A 13″, and Asus TUF Gaming F15 are all available through Home Credit, making it easier than ever to get these devices for your loved ones this holiday season.

Enable your loved ones’ lifestyle with home appliances

Home appliances are a thoughtful and practical choice for holiday gifts, as they can significantly enhance the quality of life for your loved ones. They simplify daily routines, provide greater convenience, and even deliver added comfort.

For instance, gifting your loved ones with a new refrigerator not only helps them preserve food more effectively, but also enables them to stay organized, making daily meal preparation and grocery management efficient. An air conditioner, on the other hand, can ensure their comfort especially during the summer. You can also consider giving them a smart TV to elevate their entertainment experience or a washing machine to simplify laundry chores so they can save more time and effort.

Tears from Heaven: 21 Years of CHILD Haus

CHILD Haus founder ‘Mader’ Ricky Reyes and SM Prime Holdings Inc. Chairman of the Executive Committee Hans Sy (center) celebrate the institution’s 21st anniversary with the CHILD Haus beneficiaries.

The 21st anniversary celebration of CHILD Haus, an organization established by “Mader” Ricky Reyes to serve as a pillar of hope for kids affected by cancer, took place in the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. The Sy family has continuously been a major backer of the establishment throughout its history: Henry “Tatang” Sy, Sr. in the early years and SM Prime Holdings Inc. in the last ten years. Hans Sy, the chairman of the executive committee, is carrying on his father’s legacy.

Mr. Sy and “Mader” Ricky led the event, and invitations were sent to a number of people and organizations that have supported CHILD Haus throughout the years. There were also a lot of kids there who had been “adopted” by CHILD Haus and were now living there. The media was also present and acknowledged the significant impact that organizations such as CHILD Haus make, as well as how they serve as the “answered prayers” for countless children and their parents.

Three CHILD Haus stories, featuring Aya, Laura, and Jessa, were turned into video vignettes that highlighted the message of hope and the life-saving work of the organization. While it is easy to describe such events as heartwarming and tear-jerking, it was truly remarkable to witness even the most seasoned press photographers being moved to tears by these videos. This is a clear testament to the profound impact that these testimonials had on the audience at the event.

After ‘Mader’ Ricky’s heartwarming welcome, Mr. Sy himself took the stage to present plaques of appreciation to the many friends of CHILD Haus whose generous donations have made the organization’s life-saving work possible.

Those suffering from cancer and ‘adopted’ are provided food and shelter. There are presently two CHILD Haus locations – one in Manila, near the Philippine General Hospital, and one in Quezon City. Until the children are declared cancer-free and/or have completed their treatments and medical procedures, one child and one parent are allowed to live at CHILD Haus. If it’s an infant, both parents can stay.

Singer Karylle leads the CHILD Haus children in an uplifting song.

Karylle, a CHILD Haus regular and ardent supporter, led the kids in a lively song written by her husband, Yael Yuzon. Subsequently, the daughter of “Mader” Ricky performed a reworked version of “Handog” by Florante, tailored to the emotions of the kids at CHILD Haus. The kids had learned and rehearsed these two songs as a way to say “thank you” to all of the visitors who had contributed to the “haus” becoming a reality.

Ultimately, “Mader” Ricky and Mr. Sy agreed on the importance of this occasion, which honors 21 years of kindness, tenacity, and the giving and sharing attitude.
