Josh Cullen of SB19 releases the official remix of “Get Right,” which features Yuridope, a Filipino rapper

The  official remix of “Get Right” features the collaboration of Filipino rapper Yuridope and P-Pop artist Josh Cullen. 

The two hit it off right away and had an unbreakable synergy. They dominated the remix with an unquenchable desire to change the beat, amp up the verses, and give a performance that was just as captivating as the original.

“I’ve been eyeing a remix for ‘Get Right’ with a local artist, and boom, Yuridope pops up,” the lead rapper and vocalist of SB19 reveals. “The dude is not just talented; he is genuine. And that verse of his? It was like he blinked and boom, and it was done. Literal na naglabada lang. (He literally washed it out).”

The remix treatment is a result of Josh’s collaboration with the multi-talented producer Cursebox, who gave the original song a fresh new perspective and enabled Josh to actualize his vision. As a result, an intergenre adjustment is made that pushes the boundaries of production.

Josh recounts, “Cursebox deconstructed the beat, experimenting with sounds and rhythms to breathe new life into the track. Throughout the process, we provided feedback, ensuring the arrangement aligned with our vision. In the end, Cursebox’s unique touch added depth to the song, elevating it to new heights while respecting its roots.”

Serving as a gateway to bridge the gap between hip-hop enthusiasts and his captured market, the reimagining of “Get Right” provides an exciting opportunity to introduce new elements to the music while also inviting fans from different genres to experience Josh’s sound in a fresh light.

Seth Fedelin and Francine Diaz appear in the music video for “Tayo Na Lang” by NOBITA

The popular loveteam known as “FranSeth” was the band’s unanimous pick for the leads

In the music video for NOBITA’s Tayo Na Lang,” which is available today via Sony Music Entertainment, Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin play pals who have a secret crush on one another.

This is the second time that the well-known loveteam “FranSeth” has appeared in a music video. The first was during their highly publicized appearance as a young couple in Ace Banzuelo’s 2022 viral hit “Muli.”

The band unanimously decided that Francine and Seth should be the top choices for this project, according to MV director Jeff Valencia. 

Valencia says, “The people in NOBITA are fans of Franseth.” However, there’s something about Francine and Seth that radiates chemistry and mystery beyond just the desire they share. The song seemed to have been composed just for them. They performed with such natural grace and skill.

Set in a slumber party with a group of friends enjoying a fun-filled nightcap, the visual narrative fits perfectly with the song’s heartfelt earnestness and feel-good vibe, but takes a different turn towards the end.

“The plot twist is something that is non-negotiable on our part,” shares lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist Jaeson Felisimino. “The journey matters the most, for sure, but there’s so much weight in the things that we least expect. We’re grateful to our friend Jeff Valencia for turning our vision into a reality.”

Just in time for the Valentine season, NOBITA released “Tayo Na Lang” on all digital music platforms at midnight on February 14, 2024. The alt-pop ballad garnered significant attention on the day of its release, with #StreamTAYONALANGonSpotify becoming a trending topic.

“Tayo Na Lang” is written by Jaeson Felismino, Sam Aquino II, and Mark Quintero, with co-production by Brian Lotho. The track sounds classic NOBITA in terms of musicality and arrangement, creating a wonderfully dreamy backdrop that conveys those early days of passion and longing.

Eastern Communications turns on the PDSCN “Express Route” submarine cable, enhancing dependable communication in typhoon-prone areas


Eastern Communications lights up Express Route in the joint Philippine Domestic Submarine Cable Network (PDSCN) project.

The Philippines’ connectivity reliability has been improved with the completion of Eastern Communications’ “Express Route” project, which was part of the joint venture that is the Philippine Domestic Submarine Cable Network (PDSCN). The initiative’s goal is to provide robust and inclusive internet connectivity, with an emphasis on improving services in regions that are frequently affected by typhoons and natural calamities.

Lucena City, Quezon; Boac, Marinduque; Calatrava, Tablas Island, Romblon; Roxas City, Capiz; Placer, Masbate; Palompon, Leyte; Lapu-Lapu, Cebu; Talisay City, Cebu; Tagbilaran City, Bohol; and Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental are locations covered by the PDSCN Express Route, which went into effect on February 9.

With the PDSCN Express Route active, Eastern Communications is ready to facilitate on-ground connections and offer improved bandwidth to meet the varied needs of Filipinos, particularly in areas prone to cable faults, typhoons, and natural disasters.

“We celebrate the completion of Eastern’s PDSCN Express Route with all Filipinos. Together, we welcome a new era of possibilities and build a more reliable connectivity infrastructure for all,” said Delfin Lopez, Eastern Communications’ AVP and Head of Network Planning, Engineering and Implementation.

The PDSCN Express Route is a 1,000-kilometer network of submarine and terrestrial fiber optic cables connecting South Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The route was strategically designed to be composed of at least 80 percent of cables laid via submarine and less than 20 percent of cables laid in-land. By minimizing the terrestrial fiber network, the Express Route aims to reduce the likelihood and frequency of network faults caused by cable cuts on road networks.

“While roadwork development is in place in these areas, the completion of the PDSCN Express Route becomes pivotal in laying a solid groundwork for a more reliable connectivity and driving digital empowerment nationwide,” said Eastern Communications’ PDSCN Consultant Albert Tuason.

The entire PDSCN initiative, which commenced last July 2022 in Subic, Zambales, has been a collaborative effort with co-owners Globe Group and InfiniVAN Inc., and spans a total cable distance of 2,500 kilometers, with landing cables established in 32 Point of Interconnect (POI) sites.

As the PDSCN initiative continues to unfold, it holds the promise of transforming the digital landscape of the Philippines, paving the way for a more connected and resilient nation.

The 160-km Freedom March Has Resumed in Observance of Heroes and Historical Events

On the 82nd anniversary of the Battle of Bataan, descendants of our World War II Filipino and American veterans, along with military personnel, representatives from the local and national government, the diplomatic community, students, families, and more, will once again walk in our heroes’ footsteps at the Bataan Death March Commemmorative Walk.

This coming March 16 and 17, 2024, the Philippine Veterans Bank (PVB), in collaboration with the Department of National Defense (DND), the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO), and the Philippine Veterans Bank (PVB), will host the annual Freedom March, a 160-kilometer memorial walk for the WWII heroes.

Starting in Mariveles, Bataan, and ending in Capas, Tarlac, the Freedom March will follow the real historical path of the Death March.

The public is cordially invited to participate in this solemn remembrance of the bravery and selflessness of the American and Filipino warriors who fought in one of history’s most tragic periods at the Battle of Bataan.

“The Freedom March isn’t just a journey over land; it’s a journey through time, honoring the undying spirit of those who walked before us,” Mike Villa-Real, PVB first vice president for marketing and communications, said. “This year, as we walk, we don’t just tread on the ground; we walk alongside the echoes of bravery and resilience that resonate through our nation’s history.”

The Freedom March encapsulates the route taken by approximately 66,000 Filipino and 10,000 American POWs. It stretches from Mariveles and Saysain Point in Bagac town, Bataan province, to Camp O’Donnell in Capas town, Tarlac province.

This path, steeped in history, offers a tangible connection to the past, turning every step into a personal encounter with history. This act of remembrance reinforces the narratives of endurance and resilience that form the bedrock of our heritage.

According to  Villa-Real, the 2024 Freedom March is designed to be a powerful educational experience, providing participants with an opportunity to connect deeply with history. Unlike the original Death March’s grueling journey, the event features a symbolic 10-kilometer walk, making it accessible for more individuals who wish to participate in this act of remembrance. DITO is set to launch Galing DITO 2024 with its official music video. Headlining with the love and appreciation for Filipino talent, the song and music video will be performed by none other than the Pinoy Pop boy group, Alamat! A uniquely multiethnic and multilingual group, Alamat is known for its music and for its distinctive artistry that incorporates the diverse backgrounds of its members hailing from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Their songs are usually sung in the members’ native languages of Tagalog, Ilocano, Kapampangan, Cebuano, Hiligaynon, Bikolano, and Waray-Waray. Truly, the group captures the essence of inclusivity and the spirit of Galing DITO, with the passion that goes into supporting Filipino excellence from our regions.  

Galíng Kahit Saan Man Gáling 

DITO is also supporting 19 other talented Filipinos representing ‘Galíng’ in a diversity of pursuits and crafts. These talents proudly hail from all over the Philippines. The noteworthy list of talented Filipinos includes:

Sony Music Entertainment Philippines and Off The Record Collaborate to Promote Filipino Music Worldwide

To further develop and promote Filipino music, Sony Music Entertainment (SME) Philippines and Off The Record, an independent record label based in Manila that is well-known for supporting Filipino musicians, have announced a new product and distribution agreement.

As part of the agreement, SME Philippines will distribute Off The Record’s song catalog all over the world and collaborate to establish marketing, artist development, media promotion, brand partnership, and synchronization initiatives.

Ricky Ilacad, an industry veteran who has paved the way for the biggest crossover, pop, and alternative artists of the past 20 years, established Off The Record with the goal of using his tried-and-true knowledge to help develop local Filipino talent and increase their prospects of success in the ever-evolving but universally accessible music scene.

With the release of “Hello” through his musical persona totâ, Josh Villena of Autotelic also brought his A game to the label’s expanding roster of diverse talents. Top musicians like SB19, O SIDE MAFIA, and Ben&Ben are part of SME Philippines’ roster, which keeps it at the forefront of the Philippine music scene.
