The latest single from the five-piece band Any Name’s Okay, “Sungit,” is an exhilarating alternative-pop/rock performance that serves as a reminder to fans that love is identifiable, alive, and true even in the face of imperfections. The group’s first full-length album, which is scheduled for release in 2026, will include this song.

“This song takes such a common Filipino word, and plays around with all the complex feelings that surround it. It is meant to be a snapshot of what a ‘mature’ love and relationship is–it’s never perfect, or nicely pleated. There is something so comforting about that,” said the quintet. “We always try to root our songs in a youthful, hopeful heart,” they added.

“Sungit” serves as a humorous reminder that no number of small arguments, taunting, or arguments can prevent you from going back to the person you love. In actuality, these minor miscommunications give us an air of feelings that makes a relationship feel genuine and vibrant. We are so accustomed to this cycle: arguing one minute, grinning the next, and then reverting to the same rhythm as though it were a natural part of who we are. In these tiny gaps, love is alive. “Sungit” expresses the idea that we flourish in these areas of imperfection through lyrics that are both sweet and playful.
