BGC Central Park is a great place to have some off-leash fun with your pet

It’s great news for dogs and their owners! Bonifacio Global City, known for its pet-friendly shops, has opened BGC Central Bark, a new off-leash dog park where canines may run about and play to their hearts’ content.

Located at Sundial Park in front of Seibu Tower, the 600-square meter dog park is a partnership between BGC, Presidential Paws, and PetMe. With its dog-approved features, BGC Central Bark creates an avenue for furbabies and pawrents to enjoy off-leash adventures at any day of the week.

With a goal of creating a safe space suitable for all kinds of breeds, the launch of Central Bark officially took place last March 9, 2022. The event was graced by BGC Estate Association’s Executive Director Jun Galvez, PetMe owner Aaron Halili, and Presidential Paws owners, Yassi and Issa Pressman. During the entirety of the event, furbabies of all kinds had a splendid time roaming, showing off tricks, and socializing with other pooches.

Beyond opportunities to play, part of the perks for members of BGC Central Bark are grooming and training sessions.

BGC Central Bark members have full access to supervised facilities, are invited to exclusive park events, and receive discounts at PetMe BGC and Presidential Paws accessories and grooming lounge. Non-members can still bring their dogs to the off-leash park if they purchase a Php100 day pass. All you need to bring is your dog’s anti-rabies vaccination card and your COVID-19 vaccination card to enjoy the best time possible at BGC Central Bark!

Smile Train wins a Silver at the 57th Anvil Awards for the First-Ever Filipino Mobile Speech Application

Smile Train Philippines’ Virtual Telehealth and other Speech Therapy programs were recognized for the second consecutive year in the recently concluded 57th Anvil Awards

In the Philippines, where over 5,000 babies are born each year with a cleft lip or palate, accessibility to cleft-related treatments like speech therapy is critical. This was particularly true at the COVID-19 pandemic’s peak, when ensuring that patients could continue their speech therapy appointments was a top priority.

Smile Train, the world’s foremost cleft-focused nonprofit, endeavored to bring its speech therapy programs directly to patients by launching the country’s first Filipino speech therapy mobile application, demonstrating its dedication to continue promoting comprehensive cleft care. More individuals born with a cleft can keep receiving complete cleft care using their smartphones thanks to the platform. (The Smile Train Filipino mobile speech program is free and available on both the Apple and Google Play Stores; for more information, go to https://smiletrainspeechapp.com/.)

The impact of this innovative application as well as Smile Train’s telehealth services were recognized at the 57th Anvil Awards, winning the Silver Award.

“As Smile Train strives to create a brighter future for Filipinos born with a cleft, we are grateful to receive this recognition for the second time as this is a testament of our organization’s efforts to bring uninterrupted care and convenient access to patients amidst the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Kimmy Coseteng-Flaviano, Vice President, Smile Train South East Asia.

Since the programs were launched in 2020, Smile Train’s speech telehealth and therapy programs in the Philippines have treated over 300 patients, providing them with more than 2,000 cleft care-related sessions—including speech therapy, nutritional support, breastfeeding guidance for mothers of babies with clefts, pre-surgical consultations, and psychosocial care. From 2020 to 2021, Smile Train and its 26 partners supported a total of 2,125 sessions for over 223 individuals for speech services alone. Despite COVID-19 restrictions, patients still have access to Smile Train’s services and are still able to schedule surgeries in partner hospitals.

“Smile Train has always been committed to exploring various avenues and utilizing technology to provide comprehensive cleft care to reach more patients and communities in the country,” shared Flaviano. “All these programs built on the earlier successes of Smile Train’s efforts at the onset of the pandemic, notably Speech Camp 2020, which is a series of virtual therapy classes and discussions conducted by speech language pathologists and medical professionals.”

The Rundown 2022 promotes young empowerment and partners with the COMELEC

The 2022 national elections, which are expected to be one of the most important in our history, will reflect the ultimate voice of the Filipino people and define the future we, and future generations, will be heading to.

With the youth accounting for more than half of the country’s registered voters for 2022, The Rundown: A Youth-Oriented Senate Elections Forum commits to delivering an impartial and informative elections forum for the youth, by the youth. This year, The Rundown 2022 champions the theme of Youth at the Forefront of Change: Transforming Conversations into Collective Action.

Since 2013, young voters have been given the chance to engage with senatorial candidates in a series of panel discussions, rapid fire questions, and open forums as they tackle the most pressing issues of our time. This 2022, The Rundown continues to put youth empowerment at its core as it provides a platform for senatorial candidates such as Risa Hontiveros, Carl Balita, Chel Diokno, Samira Gutoc, Antonio  Trillanes IV, Roy Cabonegro, and Carmen Zubiaga to both share their plans and sense what concerns the youth sector.

In its previous editions, the forum has been endorsed by government agencies such as the Department   of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA). This year, The Rundown has partnered with Mayani, a fast-growing agri-enterprise as one of its chief community partners, and the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) as their Official Youth Senate Elections Forum.

The forum will be livestreamed for the first time in The Rundown’s history on Saturday, March 12, 2022, from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m. on The Rundown: A Youth-Oriented Senate Elections Forum on Facebook. The forum will also be broadcast on ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) TV and on YouTube.

InLife and GCash Partnership Expects P196 Million in Transactions by 2021, Expanding Women’s Role in the Digital Economy

Between January and December 2021, Insular Life (InLife) recorded P196 million in GCash transactions. This was based on 46 thousand transactions made using the GCash app for payments for various InLife insurance products. But the relationship between InLife and GCash is about more than just collecting premium payments; it’s about inclusion.

“Our partnership with GCash, the largest FinTech platform in the country, is the latest and, by far, the widest net we are casting in our financial inclusion agenda for women. GCash breaks the barriers for the millions of the unbanked to avail themselves of financial services and health solutions at the most convenient and safe way,” said InLife Chairperson Nina D. Aguas during the formal launch of InLife’s partnership with GCash.

InLife term life insurance and accident insurance plans that do not need medical examinations have been available through GCash since last year. It also made the affordable emergency prepaid cards of its health subsidiary, Insular Health Care (IHC), available through GLife. The move is in line with InLife’s advocacy of promoting financial inclusion and empowering women through technology

Empowering Women through Financial Inclusion

The Covid-19 pandemic has transformed public opinion and behavior in favor of obtaining proper healthcare and insurance coverage. “And data shows that active seekers are women, not necessarily for themselves, but for their husbands, children, or parents,”according to Ms. Nina D. Aguas is the Executive Chairperson of The Insular Life Assurance Company. She stated that GCash is ideal for improving the health and financial stability of larger communities, particularly those who are financially disadvantaged, due to its reach and widespread

GCash President and CEO Martha Sazon noted during the occasion that their relationship with InLife has allowed them to provide everyday Filipinos with affordable and accessible insurance coverage.

“Through InLife and InLife HealthCare, they now have access to appropriate products ranging from life insurance to health care coverage.” We’re offering more Filipinos the opportunity to get insured more quickly and easily, giving them and their families peace of mind,” she said.

Ms. Sazon pointed out that their relationship with InLife provides GCash consumers with another important and timely service.

“This is another step forward in our goal of financial inclusion,” she said, “where we try to make financial services more accessible to all Filipinos, particularly the unbanked and underbanked.”

Ms. Sazon stated that their collaboration comes at a critical juncture in GCash’s history, as the company’s user base has grown to over 55 million people, or more than 70% of the adult population in the Philippines.

“They now have access to digital financial services through our app, even though bank penetration remains low.” “People now think of GCash as a digital life hack and more than just an e-wallet,” she said, adding that app usage is at an all-time high.

Inspired by the Sheroes Movement

IHC President and CEO Noemi G. Azura disclosed that their experience in the InLife Sheroes Movement, InLife’s women’s advocacy program, made them realize the importance of digital channels to reach Filipino women.

In a nationwide study conducted by InLife in 2018 for its Sheroes program, it learned that Filipino women are the primary caregivers in the family, including extended ones.

“We realized that online storefronts are viable distribution channels to reach more women who are looking for affordable protection products for life and health for their family,” Ms. Azura said.

She added that digital technology is effective in terms of promoting awareness about the program, and in delivering educational activities on health and personal finance.

Ms. Sazon said that they are celebrating their partnership at a special time – Women’s Month.

“While tech is not usually a field women are associated with, our team at GCash is proof that it can happen – with women making up around half of our employee base,” she said.

Addressing Challenges in Financial Inclusion

During the event, officials from InLife and GCash discussed the issues of financially empowering women and how the two companies may work together to address them. Through this also I acquired so much knowledge and the discussion is very informative. It tackles the role and importance of women in our society very relevant in today’s celebration of Women’s month.

Insular Health Care Head of Sales and Marketing Division Tricci Rose A. Sadian; InLife Vice President and Head of Digital Sales Distribution Geraldine G. Pascual; and GCash Assistant Vice President and Head of Financial Services, Distribution, BPO & CICO for Enterprise Kim Pineda shared their insights on financial inclusion for women. They also discussed the various products and services of InLife and GCash that cater to women.

“It is our hope that millions of Filipinos will enjoy peace of mind knowing that they have life and health insurance coverage for themselves and their loved available through GCash,” Ms. Aguas said as she concluded her speech during the event.

Pampers Overnight is the solution for first-time parents Elisse and Mccoy’s sleepless evenings

With fellow parents Saab Magalona and Jim Bacarro, they also acknowledged some of their parenting problems and advocated for equal parenting.  After witnessing the couple’s cryptic remarks on Facebook and Instagram stories, implying that both had had enough, netizens and fans showed their support to new parents Elisse Joson and Mccoy de Leon.

After inquiry, we discovered that the main issue was the couple’s inability to get a good night’s sleep. While most individuals can relate to sleepless nights, new parents like Elisse and Mccoy are nodding and saying, “We hear you.”

Parents’ Partner for Uninterrupted Sleep

McLisse, in a Pampers Power Parents Show Facebook Live with Saab Magalona and Jim Bacarro on Monday, revealed that they had to wake up in the middle of the night to their daughter, Felize McKenzie, crying because of the discomfort and leaks caused by the previous diaper brand they were using. They recalled that the most difficult time for them was during Felize’s first six months – Elisse would get up in the middle of the night to feed and to change diapers multiple times. To prevent this from happening again, Elisse and Mccoy have taken shifts in changing Felize’s diapers which eventually left the couple tired, frustrated and not having enough sleep. For working parents like Elisse and Mccoy, a restful sleep is important. And when your baby is uncomfortable and does not get enough sleep, that also means that the whole family does not either.

Apparently, this is a common struggle for parents. Most nighttime diaper changes are either done before baby sleeps or around the parents’ sleeping schedule to reduce the need for parent and baby to wake up at night. However, parents still experience instances when they wake up in the middle of the night to check their baby’s diaper. They oftentimes worry of “babad” or the soaking in free liquid on diaper’s topsheet.

But after hearing recommendations from fellow Pampers parents, McLisse decided to try the new Pampers Overnight and saw the difference in their daughter’s sleep: comfortable, uninterrupted, and free of leaks. All thanks to its superior Zero Babad Night Lock that absorbs baby’s pee all night and helps prevent rashes! It has Zero Babad Technology that can absorb up to 1 night’s pee based on average overnight loading and Zero Babad NightLock belt to prevent nighttime leaks.

Call to Equal Parenting to Ease the Load for New Parents

During the same Facebook Live show, the couples discussed how parenting is not easy and how listening and supporting each other is essential. Saab pointed out, “Diaper problems man or other complex challenges, whether emotional, physical, mental – those are valid, and you can also always ask for help… and for us, let’s continue to give them support.”

Mccoy and Elisse said that amidst parenting struggles at home, they are both grateful that they equally share the caregiving duties which helps in lessening their parenting loads and worries. Saab and Jim added that having the support of other family members also helps alleviate stress as well.

The concept of equal parenting rings even more relevancy now with the celebration of the International Women’s day as it emphasizes that caregiving and housework are the responsibility of both parents, and they mentioned how we need to break outdated stereotypes that women are the sole, full-time caregiver in the early stages of a child’s life.

Procter & Gamble on Promoting Equal Parenting

Last year, P&G launched a program called “Share the Care” that gives its employees, regardless of their gender and marital status, 8 weeks of fully paid parental leave and offers all kinds of parents different opportunities to care for and bond with the children new to their family – biological or adopted. This is beyond the standard 7 days that is mandated by the Philippine law for fathers. Meanwhile, mothers continue to receive 105 calendar days of fully paid maternal leave.

Join the Pampers Power Parents and support healthy sleep for your children by providing them the night diaper with zero babad protection. Visit our Lazada and Shopee stores, as well as other major merchants, to purchase the new Pampers Overnight Pants.

Hanabishi Offers Cleaning Tips for Your Gas Stove

Gas stoves are dependable kitchen gadgets that allow us to create our favorite meals at home while saving money. Taking care of them and keeping them clean will not only help them function more effectively, but will also help them last longer.

As we commemorate National Fire Prevention Month, Hanabishi offers these tips for keeping your gas stove clean and extending its life.

  • Pay attention and immediately wipe off spills and overflows. As soon as boiling liquids spill over from your cooking pan, make sure to wipe it away with a sponge and diluted dishwashing liquid. That way, you’ll prevent stains from setting in and won’t take as much time to clean afterward. For stubborn stains, try spraying the surface with water & vinegar and wipe away with a non-abrasive sponge.
  • Keep an eye on the burners and check if they are clogged, in order to prevent it from turning into a fire hazard. Always check before, during and after cooking to see if the burners need to be cleaned. To unclog the burner, spray it with water and liquid detergent, let it soak for 15 to 20 minutes, and scrub with a small brush. Similarly, soak the stove grates in soapy water for the same amount of time, and clean with a brush or sponge as needed. Make sure that the burners and stove grates are completely dry before returning them to their proper places.
  • Check the back panels and knobs regularly. Clean with a sponge and dishwashing soap or vinegar solution. Spending a few minutes everyday to keep your gas stove clean is one way to avoid the hassle of spending more time and energy for deep cleaning. That way, you’ll have more time to enjoy your delicious meals with your loved ones.

Is it true that size matters?

It’s a question that’s piqued many people’s interest for a long time. And size does important in a lot of everyday circumstances. Going big means there’s more to savor, a lot more to treat yourself to, and, to put it another way, you get more out of your purchases and get your money’s worth.

When it comes to bigger and better, Pantene changes the game with their 3-Minute Miracle Conditioner. Compared to the previous 9mL sachet, the sachet comes in bigger at 13mL but keeps the same salon-inspired ingredients and maintains the affordable price of P6* giving everyone who uses it Salontastic and lagkit-free hair.

Filled with Pro-Vitamin B5 and keratin strengtheners that provide your hair with essential nutrients, you can be well on your way to swapping frizziness for smooth, lagkit-free, and fragrant hair that lasts all day.

Hair is also a crucial form of self-expression, with many using various styles to change its appearance – but while fun and freeing, this can also lead to dry hair in the long run. To keep you and your hair free from further damage, Pantene also offers its Collagen Repair 3-Minute Miracle Conditioner, equipped with Pro-Vitamin B5 formula and collagen that helps protect your hair follicles and strengthens your hair in the process.

Lastly, those whose hair tends to experience breakage can opt for Pantene’s Biotin Strength 3-Minute Miracle Conditioner.
