“Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026” Global Proposal Campaign Opens, Calling on the World to Collaborate in Building a New Model for a Healthier Future

To advance the global reach of Taiwan’s health and wellness sectors and strengthen international cooperation, the Taiwan International Trade Administration under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (TITA) has again tasked the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) with organizing the “Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026” Global Proposal Campaign. Centered on the theme “Designing Healthier Futures Together,” the program calls on professionals, government bodies, organizations, companies, and institutions worldwide to submit innovative proposals that leverage Taiwan’s expertise in smart healthcare, sports technology, and premium bicycles. The goal is to develop scalable health solutions for global implementation and jointly shape a new model for healthier futures.

The launch press conference for this year’s campaign was held last May 27. During the event, the Director General of TITA, William Liu, stated that “Healthy Taiwan” is one of the government’s key policy visions. To continue promoting Taiwan’s image as a healthy, innovative, and dynamic industrial powerhouse on the global stage, the “Go Healthy with Taiwan” Global Proposal Campaign has been launched once again. Through a comprehensively upgraded campaign, the initiative aims to generate demonstrative and multiplier effects, positioning Taiwan as the preferred global partner for health solutions. In addition, at the Taiwan Expo in Poland this June, organized by TITA, the top three winning teams from the 2025 campaign will be invited to share their collaboration experiences.

President & CEO of TAITRA, Simon Wang, noted that this year’s campaign will be paired with a series of international trade shows and business-opportunity events to systematically bring Taiwan’s innovative strengths in cycling, sports technology, and smart healthcare to the world stage. The initiative will help Taiwanese enterprises build deeper connections with global buyers, investors, and startup teams, while creating tangible international orders and long-term partnerships.

The event was attended by nearly 100 distinguished guests, including representatives from the Taiwan Bicycle Association, Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association, the Taiwan Medical and Biotech Industry Association, and Taipei Veterans General Hospital, as well as enterprises and foreign envoys stationed in Taiwan.

Looking back at the inaugural 2025 campaign, “Go Healthy with Taiwan” achieved outstanding results, attracting 638 proposals from 55 countries. Building on this experience, the 2026 campaign will further expand its scale to attract more than 800 proposals from five continents, demonstrating the strong international collaboration and the potential of Taiwan’s health and wellness industries.

The launch press conference also featured a specially curated “Health AI Hub” product experience zone, spotlighting three key sectors: “Cycling,” “Fitness & Sports Technology,” and “Smart Healthcare”. The zone brought together Taiwanese companies, including Acer Gadge, Tokuyo, Makalot, Newtown, Gee Hoo, Ideas Lab, AKIMIA, and Vast, showcasing forward-looking applications in the global health and wellness industry, ranging from low-carbon mobility and smart sports to precision healthcare and healthy aging management. The exhibits collectively highlighted Taiwan’s strengths in integrating technological innovation with sustainability, offering a glimpse into the next generation of healthy living.

Applications for the “Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026” Global Proposal Campaign are open until August 5. Three winning teams will each receive a prize of US$30,000 for their contributions to advancing global health and well-being. Through this initiative, Taiwan seeks to enhance the global visibility of its health and wellness industries while taking a leading role in driving innovation in healthcare worldwide.

Small Sips, Big Changes: How Filipino Vitalisers Transform Everyday Breaks Into Zesty Moments

Mornings these days often don’t start gently. Alarms ring too soon, emails start piling up, and endless to-do lists begin before the day even settles in. For many Filipinos—especially students and young professionals—this fast rhythm makes mid-morning and afternoon energy dips feel like a normal part of daily life.

Rather than just powering through these low-energy moments, more people are now choosing small, mindful routines to help reset their mood and regain focus. Simple habits, like sipping a refreshing glass of Minute Maid Nutri+, are becoming part of how they take back control of their day—one moment at a time.

For this generation of vitalisers, wellness now comes in the form of smaller, more human-sized terms that are actually doable. No more lifestyle overhauls. Instead, small rituals like quick walk breaks or a few minutes of journaling is all they need to create space and regain a sense of control in otherwise packed schedules.

In these in-between moments, a new kind of habit is taking shape: the “zest moment.” It’s the little pause that refreshes, gently breaks the day’s monotony, and helps shift one’s mindset. It might happen in the morning before the day fully picks up, during an afternoon lull when boredom hits, or even in the middle of a busy stretch when everything starts to feel overwhelming. What makes it powerful is its simplicity. A brief reset can be enough to turn  dull mornings into microments.

For many, these moments are anchored by something familiar and enjoyable—like a drink that feels both refreshing and uplifting. This is where Minute Maid Nutri+ naturally fits in. With its bright, zesty taste and the added boost of Vitamin C and fiber, it complements these small rituals without demanding extra effort. It becomes part of a routine that feels easy to maintain, whether paired with breakfast, enjoyed alongside meals, or taken as a quick break in between tasks.

“I used to rush through everything,” shared Bianca, a young marker in Quezon City. “Now, I make it a point to slow down, even just for a few minutes in the morning. I’ll play music, take a sip of something refreshing, and ease into the day. It sounds simple, but it really changes how I feel.”

That same idea carries through the day. A student describes stepping away from their screen during long study sessions to reset, while a freelance creative shared how brief pauses help restore clarity when ideas stall. Across different routines, the pattern is the same: small, consistent habits can create a noticeable shift in both mood and motivation.

In a world that often rewards nonstop movement, these brief pauses are quietly becoming more important than ever. They serve as a reminder that productivity isn’t only about working harder—it’s also about knowing when to slow down for a moment and recharge.

With Minute Maid Nutri+, it becomes easier to create those small resets, helping even the most ordinary mornings feel a little more uplifting. Brighten your mood and enjoy the zest with Minute Maid Nutri+, now available in supermarkets near you.

The Value of Corporate Gifting in Today’s AI-Driven World

As digital marketing grows, companies turn to tangible brand experiences to strengthen relationships and loyalty

As artificial intelligence and digital platforms reshape how brands connect with their audiences, one long-standing approach continues to stand out: thoughtful corporate gifting. In an increasingly competitive and saturated market, physical, carefully selected gifts remain a highly effective tool for fostering strong and lasting brand loyalty.

In Southeast Asia, the corporate gifting industry was valued at more than $9 billion in 2025. Deloitte reports that companies across the region are increasingly prioritizing employee experience and relationship-building efforts, which is fueling greater demand for meaningful and practical branded merchandise.

In the Philippines, where relationships and personal connections are deeply embedded in business culture, corporate gifting carries even greater significance. From client appreciation and holiday campaigns to employee recognition and internal engagement, gifts serve as a tangible expression of a company’s brand values and commitment to its stakeholders.

This growing demand is reflected in the continued expansion of the Corporate Giveaways Buyers’ Show, the country’s longest-running sourcing event for gifts and premiums. Now on its 39th year, the show returns on July 1–3, 2026 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, with over 60% more exhibit space—its largest edition to date.

“Studies show that up to 80% of recipients feel more valued when they receive high-quality, thoughtful gifts,” shared World Expos & Concepts President, Raquel Romero, the show’s organizer.

“This emotional response plays a critical role in strengthening relationships—not just with customers, but also with employees and business partners,” she added.

From eco-friendly giveaways and customizable merchandise to premium gifts for top executives, the event offers a comprehensive showcase from over 100 gift suppliers offering gifting solutions aligned with today’s demand for personalization, sustainability, and practicality.

For visitors, the Corporate Giveaways Buyers’ Show provides a unique advantage: the ability to see, evaluate, and source products in person—something that remains critical even in a digital-first world.

As companies move through the AI era, the value of human connection has become even more evident. Thoughtful corporate gifts help bridge this divide, transforming simple brand touchpoints into more meaningful experiences and strengthening relationships that extend beyond digital interactions.

Admission to the Corporate Giveaways Buyers’ Show is free. Pre-registration is now open at corporategiveawaysbuyershow.com.

Beyond Neckties and Mugs: Why Fragrance Is Becoming the Father’s Day Gift of Choice

As Father’s Day approaches, more Filipinos are moving beyond traditional gifts and opting for something more personal and lasting: fragrance.

While neckties, wallets, and mugs remain classic choices, curated scents are increasingly becoming a preferred gift for fathers, husbands, grandfathers, and father figures. Industry observers note a growing appreciation for gifts that create daily rituals and meaningful memories rather than simply serving a practical purpose.

“Fragrance is deeply personal. A scent can become part of someone’s identity and create memories that last far beyond the occasion itself,” shares Michelle Garcia-Arce of The Amenity Studio. “Many of our customers are looking for gifts that feel thoughtful and elevated, and fragrance offers exactly that.”

Known for bringing luxury hotel-inspired amenities and curated fragrances to the local market, The Amenity Studio has seen growing interest in men’s scents ahead of Father’s Day. Popular choices include fresh citrus compositions, refined woody notes, and versatile fragrances that transition effortlessly from workdays to weekends.

According to the brand, today’s gift-givers are increasingly choosing items that encourage everyday indulgence. Rather than focusing on novelty, they are seeking gifts that fathers can enjoy repeatedly through daily routines.

For those still searching for the perfect Father’s Day gift, The Amenity Studio rounds up a selection of fragrances and grooming essentials that any dad would be happy to receive.

Terre d’Hermès Pure Perfume 75ml, 15ml, and 40ml Shower Gel Set – P8,000

“A great fragrance isn’t just something you wear,” Michelle Garcia-Arce adds. “It’s something that becomes part of your daily ritual and the memories people associate with you.”

The shift also reflects a broader trend toward experiential gifting, where the emotional value of a gift matters as much as the item itself. Rather than purchasing another item that may end up tucked away in a drawer, many shoppers are choosing gifts that can be enjoyed every day.

This Father’s Day, The Amenity Studio invites shoppers to discover thoughtfully curated gifts for every type of dad—from the frequent traveler and businessman to the modern gentleman who appreciates life’s simple luxuries.

Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines Empowers General Santos City Waste Workers Through Project E-REDUCE

Since 2018, Project E-REDUCE has been collaborating with communities in General Santos City to promote a more organized and inclusive household waste management system. The initiative is backed by the Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines Inc. (CCFPI) in partnership with Sarangani Province Empowerment and Community Transformation Forum Inc. (SPECTRUM), and is carried out in coordination with local government units, civil society organizations, and community-based groups.

The program aims to enhance local waste management practices while helping improve the livelihoods and working conditions of informal waste workers, whose efforts are essential to waste collection and resource recovery in their communities.

Supporting waste workers within local systems

A core component of Project E-REDUCE is support for waste workers through training on waste segregation, classification, and basic record-keeping. Partner waste workers are also provided with protective equipment to help improve safety on the job.

To support more organized operations, participating waste workers receive identification cards, designated collection routes, and padyak units to assist with daily collection activities. These measures help integrate waste workers into barangay-level collection systems coordinated with local authorities.

Project E-REDUCE has also supported the establishment and strengthening of Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) across the city, working in coordination with the LGU to improve sorting and diversion of collected materials.

“Project E-REDUCE reflects the importance of working with local partners and communities who are closest to the challenge,” said Cecile Alcantara, President of CCFPI. “Our role is to support practical, community-led approaches that help waste workers operate more safely and with greater stability over time.”

From community action to city alignment

Project E-REDUCE, initially known as Project REDUCE, began with clean-up activities and post-collection efforts in coastal communities, working with local partners and schools to address plastic waste. Early activities focused on waste recovery systems, MRF establishment, and basic disposal practices, anchored in community participation.

As the program evolved, waste management systems were piloted in schools, riverbank areas, and selected barangays, alongside information campaigns and hands-on training to encourage consistent waste segregation at the household level.

Over time, collaboration with LGUs and barangays has deepened. Informal waste workers were integrated into more structured collection networks, and barangay-level plans were developed in alignment with General Santos City’s Ecological Solid Waste Management Plan. Today, the initiative supports activities across 26 barangays, contributing to local implementation efforts already underway.

“When communities are involved, people take ownership and accountability. That’s what makes systems sustainable,” said Kim Bogador of SPECTRUM Inc.

A more stable path for waste workers

For Elmer Rodrigo, a padyak partner working in various barangays, Project E-REDUCE brought more structure and stability to a job that was once uncertain.

Elmer Rodrigo, a waste worker under Project E-REDUCE, stands beside his padyak used for daily collection across barangays in General Santos City, supporting more organized and safer waste management.

Before joining the program, Elmer worked without clear routes, with unreliable equipment, and with limited protective equipment.

Through Project E-REDUCE, he received training, protective gear, and a new padyak, allowing him to operate within a defined collection system.

Elmer removes the cap and label from a PET bottle as part of proper waste segregation, applying his training on which materials can be recovered and have value.

“Dati, mababa ang tingin sa amin. May mga pagkakataon pa na ninanakaw ang padyak ko,” Elmershared. “Ngayon, dahil mas maayos na ang sistema at may pagkilala na sa amin, mas nirerespeto na kami. Mas kampante na ako sa araw-araw na trabaho, at mas ramdam ko na ang dignidad ng aming hanapbuhay.” (People looked down on us before. There was even a time that someone stole my padyak. Now, because there is a system in place and people recognize what we do and our work, people now treat us better and with more respect. I feel more secure with my work and I feel there’s dignity in what I am doing.)

With clearer routes and improved safety, Elmer now earns more consistently and takes pride in his role. Households in his area have also become more proactive, increasingly setting aside recyclables for collection.

Communities taking the lead

ZSSFA members leading the community on picking up waste at Brgy. Bula’s coastal area.

Project E-REDUCE has also supported grassroots organizations in coastal communities, including the Zone Six Small Fishermen Association (ZSSFA) in Barangay Bula, led by ZSSFA President Cheryl Galo.

With training and organization support, the association formalized its leadership structures and strengthened its capacity to lead clean-up activities and environmental education in the community.

The group also manages a community-built boardwalk that includes a sari-sari store, a canteen, and a modest entrance fee that supports mangrove planting.

The group also manages a community-built boardwalk that serves as both a tourist site and a source of supplementary income while reinforcing conservation and community stewardship.

“After the training sessions, mas naging organisado at mas napalakas ang aming samahan,” Cheryl said. “Mas kaya na naming mag-train ng iba at mas dumalas ang coastal clean-ups. Nakikita rin namin na mas aware na ang komunidad at mas nakikilahok na sila sa pag-aalaga ng kalikasan.” (After the training sessions, we are now more organized, and our sense of community has been strengthened. We can now train other people and our coastal clean-ups are now more frequent. We also notice how our community is more aware and has been more active in helping take care of our environment.)

The association now holds regular clean-ups and manages a mangrove nursery that supplies seedlings to neighboring communities.

Continuing through partnerships

Through Project E-REDUCE, the Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines Inc. continues to support waste workers and communities by working with local partners on training, systems development, and community engagement. The initiative reflects how livelihood support and waste system improvements can reinforce each other when led locally and carried out in partnership.

Project E-REDUCE supports Coca-Cola Philippines’ continuing efforts to enhance packaging recovery and recycling systems. The initiative complements the company’s broader sustainability programs, including promoting the use of recycled materials such as rPET in areas where recycling facilities and partnerships are established, in cooperation with government agencies, industry stakeholders, and local communities.

SM and DOLE Bring Freedom Through Opportunities this Philippine Independence Day

Araw ng Kalayaan Job Fairs happening at SM Malls nationwide

Successful hired-on-the-spot (HOTS) applicants proudly pose after securing jobs during the Araw ng Kalayaan Job Fair last year.

As the nation celebrates the 128th Philippine Independence Day, SM Supermalls and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) continue their long-standing partnership to bring meaningful employment opportunities closer to Filipinos.

This June 12, SM and DOLE will simultaneously mount Araw ng Kalayaan Job Fairs across 20 SM malls nationwide, bringing together employers, government agencies, and thousands of jobseekers in one of the country’s largest coordinated Independence Day hiring initiatives.

DOLE representatives join forces at the Labor Day Job Fair, helping bring employment opportunities and essential services closer to Filipino jobseekers nationwide

For decades, SM and DOLE have worked hand in hand to make jobs more accessible to communities nationwide. The strength of this partnership was evident during the Labor Day Job Fairs last May 1, when DOLE organized simultaneous job fairs in 15 SM venues, supporting more than 17,000 jobseekers and resulting in over 1,000 hired-on-the-spot (HOTS).

Job seekers participate in on-the-spot interviews with leading employers at the Labor Day Job Fairs nationwide last May 1.

The momentum continues in 2026. From January to May alone, the SM-DOLE partnership has already mounted 66 job fairs, served more than 57,000 jobseekers, which led to over 6,000 hired-on-the-spot, helping thousands of Filipinos take meaningful steps toward employment.

Jobs Today, Skills for Tomorrow

SM, DOLE, and partners cut the ribbon to open the Labor Day job fair last May

Beyond hiring, this year’s Araw ng Kalayaan Job Fairs will also feature upskilling opportunities in partnership with DICT, TESDA, Jobstreet, and industry partners. Job seekers can explore learning opportunities in AI, cybersecurity, digital marketing, data analytics, virtual assistance, and other in-demand skills designed to improve employability and prepare them for the future of work.

Real Opportunities. Real Stories.

Behind every successful job fair are stories of hope and transformation.

For SM Supermalls, the impact goes beyond filling vacancies. “Through our Job Fairs, we create access to jobs, skills, and brighter futures. Every applicant hired and every opportunity created reflects our commitment to helping Filipinos move forward,” SM Executive Vice President Joaquin San Agustin shared.

More Than a Job Fair

The Independence Day Job Fairs are designed as a one-stop employment hub. Beyond job opportunities, applicants can access government support services from NBI, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, DOLE and PESO offices, and other partner agencies, helping streamline employment requirements and make the application process faster and more convenient.

Jobseekers are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their resume, valid IDs, a ballpen, and relevant credentials. Many participating employers will conduct on-the-spot interviews and may offer immediate hiring opportunities.

SM Supermalls has partnered with the Department of Energy (DOE) in launching O.N.E.: Oras Natin sa Efficiency, a nationwide campaign promoting energy efficiency by encouraging Filipinos to adopt simple but collective energy-saving practices.

The initiative was officially introduced through a symbolic switch-off ceremony at the Mall of Asia Globe, highlighting the importance of responsible energy consumption. It comes amid the country’s State of National Energy Emergency under Executive Order No. 110, s. 2026, which points to geopolitical tensions and supply disruptions as key risks to energy security.

The O.N.E. campaign, anchored on the message “One Hour, One Energy, One Nation,” encourages coordinated energy reduction as a shared national habit. For SM, this means participating in anenergy reduction window where participating properties will switch off non-essential lights and reduce unnecessary energy use.

During the ceremony, SM expressed its support for DOE’s call for energy responsibility, emphasizing that energy security is a shared concern that affects homes, businesses, communities, and the daily lives of millions of Filipinos.

Department of Energy Secretary Sharon Garin delivers the keynote message during the launch of the O.N.E. (Oras Natin sa Efficiency) campaign at SM Mall of Asia, reinforcing the call for collective action toward energy efficiency nationwide.

“At first, one hour may seem small. One switch turned off. One appliance unplugged. One light dimmed. But when many people do it together, across homes, malls, offices, and communities, that one hour becomes something bigger. It becomes a shared habit. It becomes a national effort. It becomes a reminder that each of us has a role to play in protecting our country’s energy future,” said Junias M. Eusebio, Vice President for Operations, SM Supermalls.

As part of its operational commitment, SM will assign energy officers to monitor participation and report actual energy savings to the DOE. The initiative will also include the switch-off of non-essential lights such as pylons, façade lighting, and decorative displays during the designated reduction window, supported by proper coordination and monitoring across participating properties.

Engr. Junias M. Eusebio, Vice President for Mall Operations of SM Supermalls, highlights the company’s operational commitment to energy efficiency in support of the Department of Energy’s O.N.E. (Oras Natin sa Efficiency) campaign at SM Mall of Asia.

Beyond the ceremonial switch-off, SM emphasized that the campaign is about building lasting habits. Through its nationwide network of most-loved malls, SM will continue to share DOE-provided energy efficiency tips and information materials with tenants, employees, customers, and millions of daily visitors—encouraging them to carry the practice beyond the mall and into their homes and workplaces.

“It is not just about one hour. It is about what that one hour teaches us. That energy efficiency can be practical. That sustainability can be part of everyday life. That small habits, when shared by many, can help move a nation forward,” Tan added.

Pasay City Mayor Imelda G. Calixto-Rubiano expresses support for the O.N.E. (Oras Natin sa Efficiency) campaign at SM Mall of Asia, underscoring the vital role of local government units in advancing energy efficiency and sustainability efforts.

The O.N.E. campaign is in line with SM Supermalls’ long-standing environmental efforts under SM Cares and the broader SM Green Movement, which advocate for responsible energy use, climate action, and everyday sustainable practices. SM continues to advance its sustainability agenda through energy-efficient operations, solar energy initiatives, and the expansion of EV charging facilities across its properties.

By supporting the DOE’s O.N.E. initiative, SM highlights the private sector’s role in promoting national energy responsibility, demonstrating how small, consistent collective actions can lead to meaningful impact.

Together, one hour truly makes a difference for one nation.
