The Green Run in Vermosa 2023 is scheduled to begin on June 25, Sunday, almost a year after the inaugural Green Run in July 2022. After being cooped up at home due to the pandemic, last year’s Green Run welcomed everyone to lace up and enjoy the outdoors for physical and emotional wellness.
As both serious and recreational runners continue to improve their fitness, this year’s Green Run challenges everyone to be “leaner and greener”. The Haribon Foundation is still supported by the Run, which also emphasizes how everyone can do their part to protect the environment.
A 3K run for novices, a 5K run for intermediate runners, a 10K run for serious runners, and a half-marathon 21K level for elite runners and athletes in training are the three levels offered by the Green Run. A fun and adorable 1K dog run has been added to the event this year, providing dogs and their owners a wonderful opportunity to connect and exercise together. There will probably be a few celebrities running as well.
The Vermosa Green Run is unique because it allows participants and guests to pursue their passions while taking advantage of Vermosa’s natural beauty, clear skies, and unpolluted environment.
“The abundance of wide-open spaces, lush greenery, flat and rolling terrain and well-constructed walkways at Vermosa offer both challenges and rewards for runners,” said Vermosa Project Development Manager Moses John Aragones.
“There is also scientific evidence that running outdoors is very beneficial. Doctors say it lessens feelings of isolation, anxiety and stress because running outside is a happy feeling. Powerful hormones that boost mood and combat depression are released especially when you run outdoors. Being out in nature is very calming, and at Vermosa you are surrounded by nature everywhere you go,” added Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub General Manager Lani Tan, who is a sports and fitness enthusiast herself.
Organized by Pinoy Fitness, The Green Run will give proceeds of the Run to Haribon Foundation’s Adopt-a-Seedling Program. Runnersand guests get a chance to protect the environment by recycling their plastic bottles at the Sun Life ReCycle PH machine on-site where every bottle donated can earn participants points which can be exchanged for prizes.
Green Run’s exclusive non-life insurance partner, FPG Insurance, will also provide all race participants with a 1-month Personal Accident (PA) insurance coverage, ensuring their safety and peace of mind throughout the event.
Ms. Tan said Vermosa Estates plans to hold the Green Run every year because of Vermosa’s commitment to actively promote sport and an active, healthy lifestyle.
“Our Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub, a state-of-the-art professionally–managed sports facility that has a FINA-standard Olympic size pool, a warm-up pool, an IAAF-standard 400m track oval, a football pitch, athletes’ lounge and a Sante Fitness Lab, all speak about our commitment to fitness, health and overall wellness as well as the development of Philippine sports,” Tan said.
Alaxan, Milo Philippines, SunLife, JGO Mart, DoggoFlask, Pocari Sweat and Immuntab, Oishi, Seda Hotel Nuvali, Merrell, Fitbar, Runnr, Toby’s Sports and O Wow, this year’s sponsors of The Green Run include SS Mnl Pet Store and Healthway Qualimed Hospital Santa Rosa.
ArenaPlus, the newest service and first sportsbook brand under DigiPlus (previously Leisure & Resorts World Corporation (LRWC)), made waves this summer with back-to-back sponsorships of significant events that promoted summer tourism and summer sports activities in various parts of the Philippines.
The top sportsbook in the Philippines helped establish LoveBoracay, the 6-day beach music festival, on the renowned white beaches of Boracay. In addition, ArenaPlus helped produce the star-studded Star Magic All-Star Games at the Mall of Asia Arena in May.
LoveBoracay, the sequel to 2022’s major beach activity, LaBoracay, highlighted events that encouraged sustainable tourism, wellness, and the arts to celebrate Boracay’s recovered glory and status this year. As a key sponsor, ArenaPlus funded festival activities like the cleanup drive, art exhibit, bazaar and procession, street dance competition, the local music festival, and aqua and beach sports.
ArenaPlus pledged one million pesos worth of cash prizes and helped award the winners of beach sports competitions in volleyball, football, tennis, and frisbee. Tourism Secretary Cristina Garcia-Frasco, other tourism officials, and local officials led by Aklan Governor Jose Enrique “Joen” Mirraflores, and Malay Mayor Floribar Bustista were present at the event.
The Star Magic All-Star Games also received major support from ArenaPlus as the annual sports-entertainment festival returned after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. ArenaPlus provided both event participants and the audience with merchandise and freebies to make the event more enjoyable. The badminton matches, won by Daniel Padilla and Neil Coleta, the volleyball games and the basketball competition won by Team Showtime composed of Vhong Navarro, Teddy Corpuz, Ogie Alcasid and Eric “Eruption” Tai were made more enjoyable with perks provided by ArenaPlus.
ArenaPlus President Jasper Vicencio said the business takes tremendous satisfaction and happiness in being a part of activities that encourage enjoyment and entertainment. “We will engage in more events and activities in the future that will enable us to provide more fun and happiness to our community and the public at large. We take tremendous joy in expanding leisure activities like entertaining events and sports competitions that help to welfare and mental health,” he said.

The Philippine Sports Expo, which takes place in the venerable Crystal Pavilion from June 30 to July 2, 2023, is slated to be the most eagerly awaited event of the year and the largest sports gathering in the nation. Sports stakeholders and fans from across the nation will assemble for this big festival of athleticism, tenacity, and skill to watch the spectacle of talents, teams, associations and federations, and sports brands.
The Philippine Sports Expo is an annual celebration of the important contributions that our nation’s sports athletes and stakeholders have made to the sports world. Over 20 associations and federations, teams, icons, and celebrities are expected to attend the three-day event, which will also feature the most recent developments in sports science and technology as well as extensive collections of well-known sports brands for clothes, shoes, wearables, gadgets, and equipment.
The expo was set to take place at the sprawling Crystal Corridor Okada Manila, which had been transformed into a vibrant sports paradise. The venue was adorned with colorful banners, showcasing the various sports disciplines that would be featured during the event. Inside, there are multiple brands and booths of sports associations and federations, each dedicated to a specific sport.
As the day of the expo arrived, the doors swung open, and a wave of energy swept through the crowd. Athletes, coaches, sports enthusiasts, and families will flood into the Crystal Corridor, ready to experience the thrilling world of sports.
In one section, basketball courts were set up with hoops of different heights. Budding young basketball players dribbled and shot, emulating their favorite Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) stars. Coaches from renowned basketball academies offered tips and guidance to aspiring players, nurturing the next generation of Filipino basketball talent. Across the way is a stage where our official national sports and martial arts of the Philippines, also known as “Kali” or “Eskrima,” are situated to create buzz and intensity in the venue. Children of all ages are welcome to join the demo and learn about sports from renowned coaches and players from the Philippine national team. Special appearances by gold medalists in the sports are also planned to inspire young players as well as aspirants and enthusiasts.
Martial arts took center stage in another room. As onlookers crowded around the elevated stage where local and foreign martial artists exhibited their knowledge of several disciplines, the air fizzed with excitement. The audience watched a captivating display of the Philippines’ rich martial arts tradition, from the lightning-quick blows of Arnis to the strong kicks of Taekwondo. The expo featured more than simply traditional sports; it also showcased new sports and leisure pursuits. A rock climbing wall stood over the crowd in one of the halls. Young and seasoned climbers will put their talents to the test and scale new heights.
Amid all the activity, there will be booths promoting health and wellness and emphasizing the value of appropriate diet, exercise routines, and sports-related products. Display the newest sports gear, apparel, and technology, luring customers with their cutting-edge goods. There will be interactive sessions spread throughout the show where visitors may take part in workshops and try out various sports. The expo offered a venue for participants to explore their sporting potential and find new loves in anything from badminton to volleyball.

nagsisimula lahat eh. Hardwork na lang ang susunod. So sana masuklian namin ang
kabaitan na pinakita niyo samin at support. And also, is this just the
beginning diba? Of a long term relationship. So thank you everyone”.
