Toyota Motor Philippines unveils the Next Generation Food Truck, Mobile Store, and Tamaraw Wing Van

New Tamaraw niche conversions available for order at Toyota dealerships nationwide

The renowned mobility firm Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has introduced three new Next Generation Tamaraw variants: the Wing Van, Mobile Store, and Food Truck, making “Abante, Posible” for more MSMEs.

Tamaraw Wing Van

The three adaptations are now officially available for purchase through any Toyota dealership in the country as Next Generation Tamaraw variants. The Tamaraw Wing Van, the first of the new models, is perfect for clients in the shipping, transportation, and auto detailing industries. It is a dependable partner for products on the go because of its fiberglass plastic shell, three-side wing doors, side compartments with locks, and roomy cargo area.

Tamaraw Mobile Store

Retail MSMEs, meanwhile, will find the Tamaraw Mobile Store useful for their business, which offers a mobile platform to bring their store wherever they go. This variant provides customers the flexibility to uniquely design the interior features however they desire, whether it may be an apparel or sari-sari store. It has aluminum composite panels, a side-opening window with struts, aesthetic light fixtures, a foldable table, a functional cabinet windbreaker for additional storage, and rear jackstands for safety.

Tamaraw Food Truck

Finally, the Tamaraw Food Truck is perfect for mobile food businesses such as cafés, caterers, and pop-up kitchens. It’s equipped with a kitchen-ready layout with food-grade interiors, a water tank with pump, a wastewater tank, a side-opening window with struts, modern light fixtures, a foldable table for serving customers, and rear jackstands for safety.

All three variants also have an industrial plug and circuit breaker for electrical equipment and are built on the long wheelbase diesel M/T Next Generation Tamaraw variant.

With these Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) variants, Toyota aims to empower business owners to scale faster, operate smarter, and build with confidence. Customers are also assured of the quality, durability and reliability that comes with Toyota vehicles.

“From working with our dealers to interacting with prospective customers, we saw the demand for these variants, resulting in the production of these business vehicles on a regular order scheme rather than indent order. These conversions further exhibit the Tamaraw’s flexibility, and we are happy to provide more options that fit the needs of Filipino entrepreneurs. With the increased availability, we hope for more Filipino MSMEs to grow their business with the Next Generation Tamaraw—because with the Tamaraw, abante posible,” shared TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations Elijah Marcial.

To further help customers with their business, TMP also offers flexible payment schemes and affordable insurance packages for the Next Generation Tamaraw.

Prices for the new variants are as follows:

Interested buyers can easily find their new business partner at any of Toyota’s 75 locations around the country with the new Generation Tamaraw. Philippines in the Fast Lane: APV Expo 2025 Accelerates Innovation

The second annual Auto Parts & Vehicles Expo (APV Expo) puts the Philippine automobile parts industry front and center once more as it continues to grow. Nearly 200 exhibitors and up to 5,000 people are expected to attend the three-day event, which takes place at the World Trade Center in Pasay City from July 25 to July 27.

Mr. Sukumar Verma, Managing Director at Informa Markets Singapore, the organization behind APVE 2025, stated, “The automotive parts industry’s strong growth demonstrates its resilience and crucial role in further strengthening the Philippines’ position in global supply chains.”

Attending the APV Expo 2025 made me realize just how strong and resilient the Philippine automotive parts industry has become. Seeing nearly 200 exhibitors and thousands of attendees all coming together under one roof proves how essential this sector is—not just to our local economy, but to global supply chains as well. It’s inspiring to witness how innovation, collaboration, and passion are driving our country forward in the automotive world.

The country’s auto parts industry generated an estimated $1.21 billion (around P66.55 billion) export-revenue in 2024 and is projected to grow even further to reach $1.28 billion (around P70.4 billion) this year, based on data released by the International Trade Council. Thus, it significantly contributes to national trade growth and reflects the continuously growing demand for automotive components globally.

“The yearly APV Expo is designed to showcase and support manufacturers, suppliers, and all other stakeholders related to the industry. Just like in the inaugural edition last year, APV Expo 2025 aims to open opportunities by highlighting the overall automotive ecosystem–from manufacturing components and cutting-edge technologies to aftermarket solutions and all in between,” he said.

Further establishing its position as a sought-after annual trade event for automotive parts, APV Expo 2025 is featuring the latest in auto parts and components, modern logistics and transportation solutions, automotive sustainability solutions, and the newest industry and institutional offerings from local and international brands in key markets, which include China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, India, and the Philippines.

PHILBUS & TRUCK 2025

The Auto Parts & Vehicles Expo 2025 Philippines is co-located with PHILBUS & TRUCK that is dedicated to the bus, truck, and commercial vehicle sectors. The co-location strategically gives way for natural synergy, extending the scope of APVE across the broader automotive value chain. PHILBUS & TRUCK 2025 provides commercial-vehicle sector stakeholders with a platform for exploring and showcasing innovations, sharing valuable insights, and facilitating networking for sectoral and private company leaders. The resulting cross-sector and industrywide collaboration is opening more doors of opportunities for all attendees.

Other compelling highlights of APV Expo 2025

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Pavilion is showcasing 15 PEZA manufacturers that represent local automotive, aerospace and precision engineering electronics and communications, rubber and plastic manufacturing, and machinery and equipment sectors.

For vehicle owners who have been affected by the ongoing floodings and inclement weather in the metro, Motolite is offering free battery check-up, flat tire assistance, and jumpstart services. Moreover, the expo features numerous auto parts suppliers and service providers for motorists who need to source out necessary materials for the required maintenance of their vehicles.

All guests get access to free seminars and conferences led by experts. Advance Machining and Cutting Tools, Lubricants & Coating Surface Treatment, Vehicle Protection System, Ecozoning towards Inclusive and Sustainable Development, and Revolutionizing Auto Parts Manufacturing are among the educational sessions. Regulatory Compliance & Safety, Vehicle Maintenance Management, Road Safety for Motorcycle Riders, Fleet Management System Introduction, Fuel Management, and a session on disassembling End-of-Life Vehicles are among the conferences.

The display of EV Jeepneys, 4X4 Camping Trucks, Super Cars, and Electric Taxis by Green GSM Philippines are among the unique attractions. Additionally, attendees are eligible to enter a raffle for a chance to win a high-end Motolite battery. With so many more, APV Expo 2025 will be a jam-packed trade exhibition and expo that will make everyone’s weekend better.

Toyota supports Cavite’s end-of-life dismantling plant for insured vehicles

An excavator fitted with a hydraulic shear attachment dismantles an end-of-life vehicle at Standard Insurance’s ELV (End-of-Life Vehicle) dismantling facility

An excavator fitted with a hydraulic shear attachment dismantles an end-of-life vehicle at
Standard Insurance’s ELV (End-of-Life Vehicle) dismantling facility

Standard Insurance Co., Inc. is the second model End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) dismantling plant in the Philippines that is officially endorsed by Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) as part of the “Toyota Global 100 Dismantlers Project.”

With an average of 850 vehicles destroyed every year, Standard Insurance’s ELV dismantling activities largely deal with automobiles covered under its portfolio. The 8,840-square-meter facility, which is part of the company’s technical and training center in Naic, Cavite, can disassemble up to six (6) units every day.

Backed by an investment of PHP17.8 Million, this initiative represents a major private sector involvement in appropriate vehicle life cycle management and circular economy.

End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) dismantling facilities serve as a vital foundation for building a circular economy in the automotive industry. These facilities ensure that inoperable vehicles are processed responsibly, minimizing environmental impact by safely managing hazardous materials and maximizing resource recovery for reintroduction in the manufacturing cycle.

With two established dismantling facilities now operating in the country, the private sector beefs up the local capacity for responsible ELV management. This expansion not only supports local sustainability efforts, but also addresses the climate-related risks posed by ELVs globally.

Standard Insurance bolsters the Toyota Global 100 Dismantlers Project being the fifth on its list in the Southeast Asian region.

We are very grateful to Standard Insurance for its voluntary resolve, making Toyota customers also feel assured with a proper place for ELVs to go,” said TMP president Masando Hashimoto.

“Our collective efforts are a clear testament to our long-term commitment to carbon neutrality and ‘Establishing a Recycling-based Society and Systems’ under the global Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050,” Hashimoto added.

The goal of the global Toyota Global 100 Dismantlers Project is to set up appropriate ELV dismantling operations in several key global locations. By encouraging appropriate disposal and recycling methods, Toyota hopes to address major environmental issues including pollution and resource depletion through this network.

TMP President Masando Hashimoto (right) hands over the plaque and certificate of endorsement to Standard Insurance Group Chairman Ernesto Echauz (center) and Standard Insurance-Technical Training Center Corporate Executive Officer and General Manager Joselito Lazaga.

Following En Tsumugi ELV Dismantler Corporation, the first ELV dismantle factory Toyota approved in September 2024 in Mexico, Pampanga, Standard Insurance has been a partner in TMP’s “Toyota Insure” program from 2021.

Toyota Motor Philippines gives Filipinos the freedom to choose

Mobility company highlights strong lineup of products and services that suit customers’ diverse needs

With so many mobility alternatives available in the local market, Filipinos typically start by asking, “What brand is best for me?Given that numerous studies have demonstrated that Filipinos have a strong sense of brand loyalty, this is not surprising. Toyota is well aware that the more respectable and trustworthy a brand is, the stronger this loyalty will be.

Your Trusted Brand

Globally, Toyota continues to be the top-selling car brand amid a highly competitive market. With its extensive lineup of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) Vehicles, Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV), Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV), the mobility company has a car for every need.

As the leading automotive brand in the Philippines, Toyota has been the trusted brand of Filipinos for their mobility needs since 1989, offering quality, durable and reliable products and services. Chances are, you’ve seen a first-generation Corolla or a Revo on the road recently—a testament to the build quality of Toyota cars.

The Toyota Hilux, which embodies quality, durability and reliability, is also renowned for its high resale value

Toyota cars also have great resale value. This is great news for customers who want to upgrade their vehicle as they move onto the next stage of their life or simply want to elevate their lifestyle.

With a Toyota in every vehicle segment, there’s a car for everyone. From sedans to SUVs to vans to sports cars—Toyota gives customers many options to choose from. The mobility company also offers the widest range of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) in the local market, with HEV variants of well-loved models such as the Camry, Corolla Altis, Corolla Cross, RAV4 and Alphard; and recent product lineup additions such as the Zenix and Yaris Cross.

Toyota offers Filipino customers competitively priced electrified options with the Yaris Cross, Corolla Altis and Corolla Cross

Since the launch of the Prius in the Philippines in 2009, Toyota has been pioneering electrification in the country by introducing HEVs, which have been proven to be an efficient mode of transportation with their ability to go further on a single tank of gas compared to conventional vehicles.

True to its Japanese roots, the Toyota Motor Philippines recognizes the importance of research and development, often doing “Goyokiki” or the practice of going and talking with customers to understand their needs. This allows it many opportunities to continuously improve its products and services so that customers receive the best experience. For its recently launched Next Generation Tamaraw, for example, company executives met with business owners to ask what they need from a workhorse vehicle.

Your One-Stop Shop

To date, Toyota Motor Philippines has a strong network of 75 dealerships and 8 service centers nationwide, and continues to expand to more locations to meet the one-stop shop needs of customers. With more dealership locations, Toyota makes its products and services more accessible.

Toyota’s newest dealership in the Philippines, Toyota Ilocos Sur, was inaugurated in April 2025

Recent studies have shown that Filipinos still prefer going to physical stores for their purchases, so Toyota places utmost importance in ensuring that its dealerships are equipped with global-standard facilities and equipment. At dealerships, customers can see and test drive for themselves the vehicle that they are interested in. While waiting for their vehicle to be released or serviced, they can even grab a cup of coffee and window shop Toyota Genuine Parts and Accessories, and Gazoo Racing merchandise.

With car parts readily available at dealerships, customers also don’t have to worry about waiting too long for their vehicle to be repaired.

Dealerships are also the best place to learn about other Toyota services. Need financing for your new vehicle? Toyota Financial Services Philippines has you covered. Can’t remember when’s your next periodic maintenance timing? You can check on the myToyota App. Looking for a secondhand vehicle? There’s T-SURE, Toyota’s quality pre-owned cars program. Want to lease a car? There’s Kinto One, Toyota’s car leasing solution.

Genuine Customer Support

Toyota’s genuine customer support doesn’t stop after the vehicle has been released. Customers can also be assured that when they purchase a Toyota vehicle, Toyota will be with them every step of the way, from when they first visit the showroom to when they upgrade to a new unit. Toyota makes it easy to get in touch with customer service through its various channels, including its customer hotline, mobile app, and social media platforms.

Customers can also go to any of Toyota Motor Philippines’ 75 dealerships and 8 service centers nationwide for their mobility needs, where Toyota experts can assist them with their inquiries and concerns.

Our Expert Innovations

The All-New Toyota Camry, the latest hybrid electric vehicle in the mobility company’s lineup

Part of Toyota’s commitment is to provide customers with products and services that are thoughtfully designed based on what they value most. As customers become more motivated to reduce their carbon footprint, for example, Toyota has been improving its vehicle lineup by introducing more electrified options. Toyota’s expert innovations keep in mind the safety of customers as well, developing vehicles equipped with safety features such as Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) and other dynamic control systems.

There are no compromises at Toyota since performance, dependability, and an exceptional ownership or user experience are what truly add value. After more than three decades of transforming Filipinos’ lives, Toyota Motor Philippines is dedicated to enhancing its mobility products even more in order to satisfy consumer demands and bring enjoyment.

In light of this, the next time someone asks you, “What brand is it?”They won’t have to worry about how long the car will survive if you advise them to pick a reputable brand. Instruct them to pick a full brand so they may concentrate on having fun on the drive. Advise them to pick a brand that will answer the phone when they call and that will look out for their best interests. Additionally, advise them to pick a reputable business that makes sustainable and safe products. Encourage them to choose wisely. Choosing a brand that meets all of the requirements is simple. It’s Toyota.

The Valencia leg of the 2025 FIA TCR World Tour is won by Lynk & Co

Lynk & Co 03 TCR Ehrlacher and Urrutia

At the 2025 FIA TCR World Tour’s Valencia leg, the Lynk & Co Cyan Racing team put on a strong show, finishing first and second in Race 3. Yann Ehrlacher was the top finisher on the podium, closely followed by teammate Santiago Urrutia.

Ehrlacher now leads the Drivers’ Championship with 152 points after winning his second race of the weekend. With 146 points, Urrutia is now in second place overall. The team’s impressive performance further increases their lead in the Teams’ Championship, as Lynk & Co Cyan Racing now has a lead of more than 100 points with 325 points overall.

Central to their success is the Lynk & Co 03 TCR, a race car known for its exceptional power and handling, strong cornering ability, and reliability under pressure. Designed specifically for touring car competitions, the 03 TCR has continuously proven itself as a competitive and consistent vehicle across various tracks, and Valencia was no exception.

Yann Ehrlacher

Reflecting on the weekend, Ehrlacher said it was the team’s most consistent and trouble-free performance so far this season. “It was quite a nice weekend for us. It is the first time we’ve had a weekend with no bad luck. I was happy with the pace and all the work the guys have done.”

Furthermore, Ehlacher also shared the challenges the drivers faced in the Valencia touring track, particularly the high temperature, but still conveyed his interest to return another time. “I think Valencia is a nice touring car track; it’s quite challenging for us drivers to put together a good lap and the high temperature didn’t make things very easy either. It was quite challenging, but hopefully we’ll come back here in the future.”

Urrutia, who crossed the line just behind Ehrlacher in second, was equally pleased with the outcome and expressed excitement for the Monza leg. “It has been very good. Congratulations to Cyan, we had a strong weekend, with Yann’s two wins, and my two podiums and a pole position. Strong points for the championship both for the drivers and the team, which is the main thing. I didn’t expect to be this quick this weekend. I was surprised first with the pole position and then I just did my weekend and tried to avoid contact. I’ve had so many DNFs in the past, so this year I plan to just finish whatever position I can take. So far so good, it’s only six races, and now we go to Monza, a track I really like.”

Lynk & Co 03 TCR Ehrlacher

With six rounds completed, Lynk & Co Cyan Racing continues to prove its strength on the race track with consistent top finishes and teamwork. The next race will take place at the Monza circuit in Italy on June 20-22, 2025 where the team will look to carry their momentum forward in the championship fight.

In the meantime, UAAGI Distributors, Inc., the authorized distributor of Lynk & Co. automobiles in the Philippines, has been formally approved as an Associate Member of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. This partnership with Lynk & Co feels so aligned with who I am and what I love,” Small Laude shares. “When I first saw the 06 in Pastel Lilac, I was like, ‘Okay, this is me.’ It’s chic, spacious, and super techie… but not intimidating! Which is why I got my own unit! And after spending more time with it, I love the comfortable seats and all these smart features that make life easier. As someone who gets really busy with managing my business, while doing vlogs on the side, it’s my happy little bubble on wheels.”

Inside, the car’s 12.3” HD touchscreen infotainment system is ergonomically designed for easy operation, while wireless charging ditches the cable chaos.

Safety also takes the front seat with features like a 360° panoramic camera with 180° transparent chassis view; blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and lane departure warning, among the 06’s standout ADAS features.

And now, the 06 just became more accessible with a new 06 Origin SE, which is now available for as low as Php 1,099,000. The same upscale distinction and premium quality now comes at a more attainable price point, making this Swedish-designed ride more accessible to the Filipino market.

When Small Laude shows up, there’s nothing small’ about it. She’s unapologetically herself; she’s sophisticated yet playful, accessible yet aspirational, and that’s exactly the kind of energy we generate at Lynk & Co,” says Lynk & Co Philippines Brand Head Franz Decloedt. “With Small Laude behind the wheel of the 06 SUV, we are primed to enter an exciting new chapter for Lynk & Co Philippines as we continue to connect and collaborate with more Filipinos.”

Decloedt continues: “We invite everyone to get linked and connected with us. Watch the Lynk & Co space closely, because we’re cooking up even more things to get you excited. More unexpected moments are coming, and with Small Laude stepping into the Lynk & Co world, the road just got a lot more fabulous.”

Street racing thrills at the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippine Cup draw over 12,000 spectators

The weekend event highlighted circuit races, GR driving exhibitions,
Tamaraw Racing Concept debut, car community meetups, musical entertainment, and more

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has wrapped up the second of three Race Weekends for the 2025 TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippine Cup (TGR Philippine Cup). This top motorsports event attracted over 12,000 attendees who enjoyed exciting racing and driving activities on the streets from May 23 to 25 in Villar City, located just south of Manila.

Racers competed head-to-head across four categories — Novice, Sporting, Super Sporting, and Legacy — in three circuit races held over the weekend on a 2.4km temporary street track. The course featured 14 corners, including two hairpin turns and six chicanes, delivering thrilling action for the fans.

TMP President Masando Hashimoto, who races for the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippines Novice Team, shook the crowd in the last laps of the Novice Class circuit race when he hit the barriers and overturned. He was able to evacuate his Vios one-make-race (OMR) car promptly and came out of the incident without any injuries.

“My car flipped upside down and became immobilized. While the tires and engine sustained significant damage from the impact, the cabin remained intact and completely clear, allowing me to escape without even a scratch. I lost my beloved Vios #4, but it saved my life. We racers experience crashes all the time, many times, which is part of racing, but I have seen first-hand the wonderful fact that Toyota cars are safe, robust and keep the drivers protected,” President Hashimoto shared.

TMP has been utilizing the Vios OMR especially converted for the TGR Philippine Cup (previously Vios Cup) for 11 years now, where it has been subjected to various racing conditions both in permanent and street circuits. It has been modified to fit racing standards, which includes the installation of a roll cage and racing seat with 5-point seat belts to ensure the safety of the racer. Racers are also equipped with fireproof racing suits, gloves and helmets with Head and Neck Support (HANS) devices.

Toyota also applies the same safety standards to its road cars with safety features such as Toyota Safety Sense, airbags and various control systems.

TGR, TMP’s motorsports arm, has been committed to ‘pushing the limits for better’ through vehicle development in controlled environments. The TGR Philippine Cup, moreover, is conducted under the supervision of the Automobile Association Philippines to ensure the racetrack is compliant with safety standards.

President Hashimoto continues, “Toyota Global Chairman Akio Toyoda always emphasizes the importance of ‘driving, breaking, and fixing’ in vehicle development. By repeatedly driving and breaking cars in the race environment, he discovers further areas for improvement and strengthens the cars as a master driver. Based on this corporate mantra, Toyota will continue to pursue safer vehicle manufacturing and accessible racing in the future.”

The Tamaraw Racing Concept, a modified Tamaraw Dropside, also made its debut during the race weekend as the showcase vehicle during the Drag Race Exhibition. The concept vehicle underlines Toyota’s dedication to creating exciting cars through continuous testing on the track.

Eventgoers were also treated to free musical performances by OPM rock stars Rico Blanco and Parokya ni Edgar on May 24, and Ely Buendia and Bamboo on May 25.
