Pru Life UK strengthens agency force quality by achieving a 20% increase in MDRT membership

Pru Life UK is pleased to report a 20% rise in Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) qualifiers from 2024 to 2025, with 328 financial agents achieving the internationally renowned distinction, up from 273 in 2024. The company’s dedication to creating a top-tier agency force based on superior professionalism, ethics, and customer service is reaffirmed by this noteworthy expansion.

The company’s involvement in forming the future generation of elite financial agents in accordance with global best practices is demonstrated by the fact that Pru Life UK is currently ranked among the Top 100 Companies worldwide in terms of MDRT membership, according to the most recent data given by MDRT.

MDRT is widely regarded as the premier global association of leading life insurance and financial services professionals. With its rigorous qualification standards and emphasis on ethical, client-centric practices, MDRT membership remains one of the most prestigious accomplishments in the industry.

“Joining the MDRT ranks is not just a badge of honour. It’s a testament to the hard work, customer-centric approach, and pursuit of excellence of our agents and advisors,” said Maria Theresa Rivera, Pru Life UK Vice President & Head for PRUPremier & Industry Recognition. “This achievement affirms our long-term commitment to nurturing best-in-class talent and delivering meaningful financial solutions to more Filipino families.”

The surge in MDRT qualifiers follows a landmark move by Pru Life UK’s parent company, Prudential plc, which in February 2025 entered a three-year premier sponsorship with MDRT. This strategic alliance aims to accelerate business growth and professional development for agents across markets through bespoke learning programs and leadership opportunities.

Empowerment initiative

With support from Prudential plc, Pru Life UK has continued to scale its PRUMDRT programme—a proprietary recognition and empowerment initiative developed exclusively for Prudential agents. Co-designed with MDRT.org, PRUMDRT offers a holistic support ecosystem for a distinct tier of agents, combining curated learning resources, cross-market networking, and mentorship rooted in MDRT values.

To date, 100 Prudential advisors have undergone training through the MDRT Academy, equipping them with critical tools to qualify for MDRT. Meanwhile, more than 4,500 agents have benefited from Prudential’s robust mentorship initiative focused on skill-building, network expansion, and reputation growth.

Pru Life UK representatives joined over 1,300 Prudential attendees from 16 markets at the 2025 Prudential MDRT Annual Meeting held in Bangkok from 8-10 July. The conference featured mainstage speeches, dynamic breakout sessions, and motivational engagements from industry leaders and visionaries including MDRT President Carol Kheng and ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

Additionally, it was the first mid-year celebration for agents who qualified for MDRT, which boosted performance in the second half and motivated agency executives to reconsider their development plans.

In order to bring the momentum closer to home and empower more agents through localized learning and recognition, the Philippines held its own local MDRT Day on September 11. This program is a component of Prudential’s overarching goal to integrate MDRT culture across all of its Asian and African markets.

“Through continued investment in its people, strategic partnerships, and purpose-driven programmes, Pru Life UK remains steadfast in our mission to empower Filipino families with trusted financial protection delivered by some of the most respected and globally recognised agents in the industry today,” Rivera added.

Everyone Can Play: Three Journeys, One Game-Changing Phone

Each of us plays for a different purpose. In order to decompress before the following lecture, some people start playing a game during the intermission between lectures. After a demanding workday, some grab their phones in hopes of relieving the tension with a fast match. While lifelong fans jump in to relive the thrill of every competition they’ve ever supported, parents pick it up to share battles and laughs with their children. Others are just inquisitive and are exploring new adventures one game at a time.

Although everyone’s definition of gaming is different, it unites us all. Whether you have ever held a prize, how long you have been playing, or how talented you are are not important factors. It’s about those tiny moments of happiness, camaraderie, and escape. Everyone can enjoy gaming, whether they are parents, students, seasoned enthusiasts, or first-time adventurers.

Furthermore, high-performance gaming is no longer exclusive to professionals thanks to the Infinix GT 30.

Take Ben Maglaque, better known as Benthings. Before esports, he was just like so many of us, juggling jobs, carrying responsibilities, and squeezing in play whenever life allowed. Gaming became his escape, and eventually his platform. “Minsan hindi lang basta paglalaro ang mahalaga, kundi ang pagbabahagi ng laro,” (“Sometimes it’s not just about playing, it’s about sharing the play,”) he says.

With the GT 30’s GT Trigger, Ben can finally keep up with the action. The built-in console-level control captures his highlights and keeps his streams as sharp as his gameplay, proof that the right tools make dreams more possible.

For Alma Enario, known to her followers as Nanay Gaming, it all began with something every parent can relate to: wanting to connect with her kids. What started as curiosity turned into late-night matches, endless laughter, and a livestreaming channel where families feel at home. “Walang pause button ang pagiging ina, pero ngayon nakakasabay na ako sa mga anak ko at sa mga nanonood,” (“There’s no pause button for motherhood, but now I can keep up with my children and with the crowd,”) she laughs.

Powered by the MediaTek D7400 chipset, Alma enjoys smooth, lag-free games and long broadcasts that don’t break the moment, because family playtime should never skip a beat.

And then there is Icey Arcangel, a fan who once cheered from the sidelines, now married to a pro player and immersed in the game she has always loved. For her, it’s not about titles or trophies but about feeling every moment. “Kapag sobrang mahal mo ang isang bagay, nakakainis kapag hindi nakakasabay ang gamit mo. Bawat galaw, bawat sandali, gusto kong maramdaman,” (“When you’re passionate, it’s frustrating when your gear can’t keep up. Every move, every moment, I need to feel it,”) she shares.

With the GT 30’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) 120 FPS certification, every frame is ultra-smooth and crystal-clear, bringing her right onto the battlefield.

Different stories, different reasons, one truth: gaming has no age, no single path, and no fixed role. Whether you’re chasing a championship, bonding with family, or simply playing for joy, the Infinix GT 30 makes it possible. With console-level GT Triggers, the powerhouse MediaTek D7400 chipset, and MLBB 120 FPS certification, the GT 30 proves that Everyone Can Play and Outplay the Rest.

Experience their inspiring stories in action and check out the full video now on the official Infinix Facebook page.

You have the opportunity to tell your story now, and you may win your very own Infinix GT 30. Players can reflect on their journey and commemorate the one triumph that meant the most by using the #MyMLBBStory. All you have to do is provide a screenshot of your MLBB victory, explain how you’ve improved as a player, and post it to your Facebook timeline. To finish your contribution, remember to tag @InfinixPhilippines, join the official community group, and use the hashtags #MyMLBBStory, #GTStory, #OutPlayTheRest, and #InfinixGT30. FSSI helps social entrepreneurs in the Philippines redefine rural development

  • Rural poverty in the Philippines affects 25.7% of the population, including many farmers and fisherfolk.
  • Women-led social enterprises such as Caviteño Isabelino Multipurpose Cooperative and Lourdes Multipurpose Cooperative are creating sustainable livelihoods and driving values-based innovations in agriculture and cooperatives.
  • Guided by the triple bottom line (3BL) framework of people, planet, and profit, the Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI), a social investment nonprofit, supports women-led enterprises in expanding services, scaling operations, and improving communities.

A social investment nonprofit organization called the Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI) is assisting women-led social enterprises that are promoting inclusive and sustainable development in the Philippines, where rural poverty still poses a threat to agricultural communities. FSSI enables Filipina entrepreneurs to revolutionize rural economies through creative, community-based business models that strike a balance between profit and social and environmental impact by offering financial services and chances for capacity building.

During its 30th anniversary celebration last  September 5, 2025, in Quezon City, FSSI presented  the inaugural Triple Bottomline (3BL) Awards to honor social enterprises—many led by women—that drive inclusive growth, climate resilience, and community-based innovation. The awards underscore the need to support local leadership in rural areas, where poverty remains high at 25.7%, and many farmers and fisherfolk still live below the poverty line, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority.

For some of the women leaders from rural multipurpose cooperatives, this persistent poverty is potentially driven by low farmgate prices, high production costs, recurring natural disasters, and limited access to markets and institutional support—even in years of productive harvests.

To confront these systemic issues, women-led social enterprises are filling critical gaps—creating sustainable livelihoods and introducing values-driven innovations in agri-processing, retail, and cooperative development. With support from FSSI, guided by the3BLstrategy that measures success by profit, social impact, and environmental responsibility, these enterprises receive tailored financing, technical assistance, and capacity-building to grow and scale their operations.

In Echague, Isabela, Caviteño Isabelino Multipurpose Cooperative (CAISA-MPC) tackles issues like pest infestations, climate change, limited market access, poor infrastructure, and lack of capital by expanding its services. With FSSI’s support through training, seminars, and capital loan, the organization was able to strengthen its operations and pursue its vision of focusing on people, planet, and profit. This has helped them grow and sustain initiatives such as pineapple production and processing, a rice mill, agri-machinery rentals, and a processing center, enabling them to better serve their members.

“Through FSSI’s support, we’ve trained our members, provided them easy access to financing, and built a cooperative that uplifts the entire community, and not just farmers,” shared Maria Victoria Anahaw, Chief Executive Officer of CAISA-MPC. “From a credit co-op, we’ve grown into a multipurpose cooperative with 800 members, providing meaningful services beyond lending that truly benefit our members and help improve their quality of life.”

At Lourdes MPC Agri-Supply, farmers can access essential inputs that support both crop production and sustainable livelihoods. They can also redeem vouchers for fertilizers, making farming more accessible and affordable. Photo from Lourdes Multipurpose Cooperative.

Similarly, Lourdes MPC in Occidental Mindoro addresses challenges like low farmgate prices and high input costs through an FSSI-funded agri-supply store that provides affordable, quality products, along with agri-loans and small business loans to support farmer-members in diversifying their income and growing their livelihoods. “We prioritize products that truly help our members by ensuring quality and safety while listening to their specific needs,” said Jesrryl Maye Obispo Agnas, Officer-in-Charge Branch Manager of Lourdes MPC. “It’s more than a store, it also empowers farmers to take better control of their production.”

In line with FSSI’s commitment to the 3BL, both cooperatives demonstrate how economic growth can go hand-in-hand with environmental responsibility and community well-being. CAISA-MPC, for instance, has adopted sustainable farming practices such as tree and bamboo planting along waterways and eliminating open burning. Lourdes MPC promotes climate-responsive planning and continues to assist members affected by natural calamities through both agricultural support and personal outreach.

Beyond growing sustainable businesses, these cooperatives are redefining gender roles in agriculture. In a sector long dominated by men, women like Anahaw and Agnas are leading with strength, empathy, and emotional intelligence. Supported by training, experience, and the trust of their communities, they are showing that women are fully capable of leading thriving, impactful enterprises.

“Filipina social entrepreneurs are proving that lasting rural transformation requires empowered leadership that cultivates communities towards sustainable growth,” said Sixto Donato C. Macasaet, Executive Director of FSSI. “To amplify their impact, we commit to invest in what truly sustains them—accessible capital, upgraded technologies, and continuous capacity-building that equips them to lead, innovate, and thrive.”

These FSSI-supported, women-led businesses offer a powerful example of inclusive, sustainable development based on local leadership and long-lasting solutions, particularly in rural areas where poverty and institutional impediments are prevalent.

This collaboration also emphasized promoting Muslim-friendly travel, strengthening the country’s position as a welcoming destination for ASEAN neighbors and beyond.

The expo’s immersive experience didn’t stop at deals and bookings. Attendees were treated to surprise performances, interactive booths, and travel essentials pop-ups from global retail brands. Twenty years of Pinoy pride are celebrated by YABANG PINOY through collaborations, activities, and a renewed call to “Live Proudly”

Yabang Pinoy, the trailblazing movement that has promoted Filipino pride and identity for the past 20 years, marks its 20th anniversary with a series of impactful events, meaningful partnerships, and a renewed call for Filipinos to “Live Proudly.”

Established in 2005 by passionate young advocates, Yabang Pinoy has been at the forefront of a consumer movement grounded in the belief that national pride begins with everyday choices—sa isip, sa salita, at sa gawa (in thought, word, and deed). From hosting landmark bazaars that uplift local entrepreneurs to developing programs that nurture youth leadership and artistic expression, the movement continues to build spaces where Filipino talent, creativity, and innovation take center stage.

Reading about Yabang Pinoy’s 20th anniversary made me realize how important it is to show pride in being Filipino not just in big celebrations, but in the little choices we make every day. I admire how the movement has supported local entrepreneurs and empowered the youth, proving that our creativity and talent deserve the spotlight. It inspires me to live more consciously Filipino—sa isip, sa salita, at sa gawa.

Looking back at the two decades of Yabang Pinoy, Head of Projects & Partnerships JM Jose considers meeting their collaborators and partners as some of their biggest accomplishments so far. He explains, “Our greatest accomplishment is the leaders, advocates, and volunteers we have met & worked with along the way—individuals who found their passion and success with the help of YP’s training and experiences. They continue to embody and champion the ‘Filipino First’ mindset, which is the very heart of our movement.”

Spotlight on advocates of Filipino creativity

At its 20th anniversary press conference, Yabang Pinoy also unveiled a special panel entitled “Filipino Brands in Focus,” which gathered trailblazing entrepreneurs who embody the essence of Filipino pride and innovation. Among the inspiring voices was Ann Poco, co-founder of local lifestyle brand, Gouache.

What began with one made-to-order camera bag has since become a social enterprise with a purpose. A Management Information Systems graduate turned lifestyle visionary, Ann’s serendipitous encounter with Marikina’s artisans led to the birth of Gouache—a proudly Filipino brand crafting functional and stylish camera bags, backpacks, and lifestyle carriers.

In celebration of Yabang Pinoy’s 20th year, Gouache and Yabang Pinoy are joining forces to launch a special collaboration line of bags, with a portion of proceeds dedicated to planting 100,000 Bitaog hardwood trees along the Bacnotan Riverway in La Union. These trees, known to naturally shield communities against flooding and coastal erosion, underscore the collaboration’s greater purpose: sustainability and nation-building.

Another panelist featured in “Filipino Brands in Focus” is Ali Sangalang, a true creative force and one of the country’s most inspiring storytellers. A proud Filipino honors graduate who once served as a speechwriter for the late President Noynoy Aquino, Ali’s journey then took a bold turn into entrepreneurship, where he poured his wit, humor, and love for Filipino culture into Linya-Linya, the now-iconic 10-year-old brand of clever shirts and everyday essentials that celebrate our quirks and stories. But Ali’s creativity doesn’t stop there. He is also one of the minds behind Big Fuzz and Puddy Rock Studio—ventures that continue to showcase his passion for music, design, and building communities through creativity.

As part of Yabang Pinoy’s 20th year, Linya-Linya partners with the Filipino pride entity through its Live Proud shorts—a collection that proudly embodies Filipino identity and everyday pride. Today, Ali stands as an example of how Filipinos can live proudly by embracing their roots, telling stories, and turning ideas into movements.

Two Decades of Milestones

Yabang Pinoy continues to stand proud and keeps the advocacy alive, which is to make nation-building a daily habit and lifestyle. Its lifelong mission is to continue to spark the national pride in every single Filipino. Since its founding in 2005, Yabang Pinoy has produced several acclaimed flagship programs, including Global Pinoy Bazaar—a premier showcase of quality Filipino products that creates a bridge between entrepreneurs and consumers, expanding from modest gatherings to major curated events.

According to Yabang Pinoy Director Patrick Joson, Global Pinoy Bazaar started as a small community event showcasing Filipino entrepreneurs and their Philippine-made products in modest venues. “Over the years, it grew into a much larger community gathering in bigger locations, featuring more diverse and carefully curated brands and continuing to champion consumer revolution,” he shares. “It created a space where entrepreneurs and consumers can connect through shared pride in quality Filipino products and services.”

Other notable flagship programs include Philippine Cinema Sessions, which provide a platform for filmmakers, actors, and creatives to initiate dialogue on the state and future of Philippine cinema; Y.A.B.A.N.G Camp, a youth leadership program training young Filipinos to advocate for “Filipino First” values in their chosen field; and 7107, an exploration program designed to rediscover hidden Philippine destinations while supporting grassroots livelihoods.

For the last quarter of 2025, Yabang Pinoy announces its roster of events that provide invaluable support for homegrown brands, entrepreneurs, artists and communities. Celebrate the season by making every gift and purchase a reflection of one’s pride and identity.

This Christmas season, Yabang Pinoy encourages everyone to support local—shop Filipino, live Filipino, and live proudly.

Avignon Clinic and Galderma Forge Strategic Partnership to Elevate Regenerative Aesthetics in the Philippines

From Left to Right: Mr. Al Reburiano (Key Account Manager of Galderma Philippines – Aesthetics), Ms. Joy Cabrera (Commercial Excellence Head of Galderma), Ms. Christine Legaspi (Marketing and Customer Education Training Manager), Mr. Andy Chou (Head of Commercial Operations of Galderma), Mr. Ferdinand “Louie” Roxas (General Manager of Galderma Philippines), Mr. Benedict Sy (President and Co-Founder of Avignon Clinic), Mr. Christopher Cachuela (CEO and founder of Avignon Clinic), June Christine Chio, M.D (Medical Operations Manager), Eufronia Apple Cruz, M.D (Aesthetic Physician of Avignon Clinic), Nancy Gabiota, M.D (Certified Dermatologist of Avignon Clinic) and Ms. Michelle De Jesus (Business Unit Head of Galderma Philippines – Aesthetics)

In skincare news that will be sure to cause a buzz in the Philippine regenerative aesthetics scene, Avignon Clinic and Galderma, a global leader in dermatology and aesthetics, announce a strategic partnership aimed at advancing the standard of injectable treatments in the country. This alliance underscores a shared commitment to patient-centric innovation, clinical safety, and education in aesthetic care.

As patients continue to seek safe, effective, and personalized treatments, the collaboration between Avignon Clinic and Galderma aims to respond with science-backed solutions that evolve with individual skin needs. The partnership will feature cutting-edge injectables: notably Sculptra®, Restylane® Kysse and Restylane® Skinboosters Translucent Vital, designed to deliver natural, long-lasting results without compromising comfort or safety.

“This partnership is rooted in a shared vision, to elevate aesthetic medicine through innovation and trust,” said Ferdinand “Louie” Roxas, General Manager of Galderma Philippines. “By working with an institution like Avignon, which mirrors our values and commitment to excellence, we can bring global dermatological solutions to local patients who deserve the very best.”

Andy Chou, Head of Commercial Operations of Galderma, also highlighted the significance of the collaboration in the broader regional landscape. “Our partnership with Avignon Clinic aligns perfectly with our vision to expand access to advanced regenerative aesthetic solutions across Asia-Pacific with strong medical expertise with a patient-first philosophy.”

With a reputation for state-of-the-art facilities and a focus on tailored patient experiences, Avignon Clinic reinforces its leadership through this strategic alignment. According to Christopher Cachuela, Founder and CEO of Avignon Clinic, “This collaboration with Galderma enables us to offer not just world-class treatments, using evidence-based products that deliver high patient satisfaction and ensure safety for our patients. Our clients can expect the most advanced, clinically tested injectable solutions to meet their changing skin goals.”

A New Era for Injectables in the Philippines

The partnership spotlights three key innovations:

Sculptra®, often described as the foundation for youthful-looking skin, is the only collagen stimulator made with PLLA-SCA, a unique formulation proven to stimulate type 1 collagen—the most abundant form in the skin. Results begin as early as 14 days post-treatment and can last over two years, offering natural-looking firmness, radiance, and elasticity over time.

Restylane® Skinboosters Translucent Vital is the only hyaluronic acid (HA) injectable clinically proven to enhance six aspects of skin quality. Patients can expect deep hydration, improved smoothness, reduced fine lines, even tone, reduced scarring, and a refreshed glow that lasts up to 15 months.

Restylane® Kysse is a hyaluronic acid (HA) lip filler designed specifically with movement in mind, made with Optimal Balance Technology (OBT). This advanced formulation allows for precise, natural-looking results that move harmoniously with every smile, and expression. Whether a more defined lip contour, improving lip symmetry, achieving naturally full lips, or smoothing perioral lines (commonly known as smoker’s lines), Restylane Kysse is the ideal choice for patients seeking personalized, expressive beauty that complements their unique facial features.

“More than just treatments, these injectables represent confidence,” said Michelle De Jesus, Business Head of Galderma Aesthetics Philippines. “We understand patients’ apprehensions about injectables, and that’s why we’re focused on education, transparency, and the use of rigorously tested products that deliver subtle, natural improvements.”

What’s Next: Forward-Thinking Aesthetic Programs

As part of this partnership, Avignon and Galderma will roll out a series of educational campaigns, exclusive treatment programs, and medical symposia to further demystify aesthetic injectables and empower patients to make informed choices.

“There’s a lot of misconceptions around injectables, because some think it’s about changing who you are. But at Avignon, our philosophy is enhancement, not alteration,” noted Benedict Sy, President of Avignon Clinic. “By partnering with Galderma, we’re confident in providing results that feel natural, look refined, and will age gracefully with our patients.”

This partnership signifies a mutual dedication to raising industry standards while nurturing the growing trust Filipino patients place in aesthetic medicine.
