“Sana’y Alam Mo,” Chen Pangan released a new debut that will surely prime for crossover success

Chen, a Filipina singer-songwriter, is someone to keep an eye on this year. As the lead guitarist and one of the vocalists of Unit 406, the emerging pop sensation has had some success with songs like “Kahit Na AnongSabihin Ng Iba” and “TanghalingTapat,” which won her band a nomination for Best Performance by a New Group Recording Artist at the 2018 Awit Awards.

With the release of her debut single, ‘Sana’yAlam Mo,’ under MCA Music Inc. this year and out now on all streaming platforms.  Chen is poised to take on a new role as a solo artist.

The song falls into stripped-down pop territory before its monumental revelation in the chorus, delivered with soulful, emotive vocals and sentimental songwriting style. She sings, “Nangangarap kung maibabaliksasimulalahat / uulitinko, ‘di nagsisisisaiyo,” as if from a place of great longing and sorrow.

According to Chen, ‘Sana’yAlam Mo’ is a song that speaks of one’s yearning for love. “It’s about loving someone without being loved back and eventually accepting reality and choosing to let go,” says the talented newcomer. “And it’s also about deciding to turn the page and move forward.”

Chen explains that the recording process behind ‘Sana’yAlam Mo’ went smooth despite the challenges of having to internalize the emotional component of the lyrics, while allowing herself to feel its pain. “The experience working with Gab and Tiny was super chill and fun,” Chen shares. “ There was never a time that we had to unplug or revise. Everything just flowed very well.” ‘Sana’yAlam Mo’ was composed, arranged, and produced by Gabriel Tagadtad, with additional production by Tiny Corpuz.

Chen is currently pursuing her artistic potential both inside and outside of her band, Unit 406. She knows what kind of music she wants to make, and she’s ready to take on any challenges that come her way, as evidenced by her first solo single, ‘Sana’yAlam Mo.’ In a quote she says, “What separates me from other artists is the tone and personality my music brings.” Unlike hugotsongs, ‘Sana’yAlam Mo’ has an R&B flavor to it that is more snappy than your average love song. It’s not as soft and gentle as the previous song, but it’s very raw and true to the message of bittersweet love.

About Chen Pangan:

Inspired by Cynthia Alexander, Barbie, ArmiMillare, H.E.R and AlinaBaraz, Chen’s music influences can be heard through her mellow vocals in her first single ‘Sana’yAlam Mo’.

4 Celeb Mothers Reveal Their Top Tips for Keeping The Dishes Clean and Germ-Free

Clean households don’t just magically clean itself and in the midst of busy lives, it’s vital to learn useful tips and tricks to keep your family clean and safe. This involves being more conscientious about the cleaning products you use and how you clean them. Although we go above and above in sanitizing the items that enter our homes, we must also disinfect those that are already there. What is one of your house’s dirtiest items? It’s the little squishy soft sponge you use to clean your dishes.

Most of the bacteria are harmless and will simply make your sponges stink, but others may make you sick. The worst part is that if it isn’t sanitized, it will contaminate anything it comes into contact with, including dishes and utensils. Dishwash like a pro and enjoy the peace of mind that comes with understanding you’re not using a germy sponge to clean your dishes. Check out these helpful and easy #CertifiedMaDISHkarte tips from some of the country’s most popular moms:

Rinse and clean your sponge especially after using it.

Jodi Sta Maria

While it’s tempting to just toss it back as soon as you’re done with washing the dishes, always remember that our cleaning tools also need a good cleaning. “I clean my sponge daily and really take time to rinse it properly to make sure there are no food scraps left. I don’t mind spending extra minutes doing it. It’s worth it especially if it means my family can be safer,” shared top actress Jodi Sta Maria.

Isabel Oli-Prats

Another tip from Isabel Oli is to lather it up with dish soap and rinse it with running water. “The kitchen sponge can easily pass on bacteria to everything it touches. If you have a clean sponge, it decreases the odds of spreading the bacteria,” the actress said.

Be choosy with your sponge holder.

Danica Sotto-Pingris

After washing your sponge, wring out your sponge completely after each use. Remember, a properly wrung-out sponge will dry quicker, and a drier sponge equals a cleaner sponge. “Soggy wet sponges harbor more bacteria so I let mine completely dry after every use with a proper sponge holder. I make sure it has proper drainage so it dries faster,” said Danica Sotto-Pingris.

Replace your kitchen sponges every once or twice a week.

Neri Miranda

“Para sa akin, dapat ugaliin na magpalit ng mga mga kitchen sponge. A good rule of thumb according to experts is to replace it every 1-2 weeks, depending on the amount of use.” said Neri Miranda. Kitchen sponges are sneaky harbors of bacteria, molds, and yeast. If you’ve ever kept a sponge so long it started to smell bad, what you’re smelling is a happy colony of bacteria growing in it.

Using just a reputable dishwashing liquid with antibacterial properties.

Whenever it happens to dishwashing liquid, these celebrity moms still opt for Joy Antibac Dishwashing Liquid, which has been shown to have antibacterial properties. It destroys 99.9% of germs on dishes and kitchen sponges, giving you peace of mind that your dishes and sponges are as clean as possible–something that ordinary liquids or dilutes cannot guarantee.

Be such a #CertifiedMaDISHkarte mom with Joy Antibac Dishwashing Liquid, which kills 99.9% of germs on dishes and kitchen sponges while keeping your family safe. More #CertifiedMaDISHkarte tips for IWAS GERMS, IWAS SAKIT can be found at facebook.com/JoyPhilippines.

Yukii Artana, Our Tiktok Superstar and Modern Day Hero

Yukii Artana

Many people nowadays depend on delivery services for necessities such as groceries, drugs, and food. Countless families are able to remain healthy and secure indoors thanks to delivery riders. Julio “Yukii” Artana, a 27-year-old delivery rider from Imus, Cavite, is one of them. Yukii, like many others, braves the streets every day to deliver food to people’s homes.

A rider who provides both food and entertainment.

Yukii is a TikTok creator who entertains his fans with dance videos, which he often produces while dressed in his delivery uniform. During lockdown, he first joined TikTok because it was famous. He had no idea that a year later, he would have 132k app followers and his content would receive millions of views.

Here are some of Yukii’s best TikTok videos, including one that has already garnered 4.6M views!

Having worked as a food delivery rider for two years, Yukii feels a sense of responsibility and pride in his job, and in his ability to provide this service to many Filipinos. He shares, “Masaya ako dahil nakakapaghatid ako ng tamang serbisyo sa customers ko, at nakakatulong din po kami upang mabawasan ang paglabas ng mga tao.”

The job isn’t always easy, and Yukii says that some days aren’t as productive and profitable as others as far as bookings are concerned. Apart from this, he also faces many other challenges as a rider.

Yukii is still concerned about the health risks. Realizing this, he makes it a point to observe all safety precautions.

Ito ang Dugong Pinoy! Three Moms Reveal how they Maintain their Blood Healthy to Boost Their Immunity

Filipinos, especially women, face numerous challenges in the year 2020. Many Filipinas have more on their plates than they can manage as a result of the stress and pressure of moving forward. Amidst this, women have continued to be the primary caregivers for their homes and children while also working full-time.

This begs the question: how do Filipina women keep their bodies in good shape for their families? We asked three Filipinas how they managed to balance their everyday tasks with taking care of their loved ones while also serving as a source of inspiration for other women.

Besides the usual chores and daily tasks, Mommy Jenica shares that she has been busy with her home-based business making cakes and baked goods. With a business that requires her to exert time and attention to detail being loaded with multiple orders, this leaves her exhausted. “’Yung pagod ka na pero mas napagod ka sa ligpitin. But thankfully I have my husband… to help me.” And yet she continues to struggle keeping her health in check since she took on more responsibilities in their household.

Mommy Anne on the other hand, found herself decluttering as her biggest and most fulfilling challenge on top of taking care of her family. She juggles her night shift full-time job and being a full-time mom during the day. “Sleep was something that was so scarce. Still is. And I’m definitely feeling the adverse impact to my health.”

While for Mommy Ria, due to the educational system shifting to homeschooling, she had to take initiative as her child’s teacher. “Preparing lessons and activities took my time and energy on top of the usual household chores and part time work.”

Like many Filipinas, they have a lot of tasks to do on the daily, which leads them to skip meals and overwork. According to Mommy Anne, the past year has led her to closely monitor her health, which many moms can relate to. With their careers and household responsibilities happening all at the same time, it’s easy to lose track of their immunity. How do they maintain their blood healthy? With the help of Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+).

By eating nutritious meals, practicing regular exercise, getting proper sleep, and taking Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+) to help maintain their blood health and keep their immunity at its peak. Through these routines they’re able to keep up with their tight schedules and provide the care that their families need.

Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+) is an iron supplement with vitamins and minerals that helps to replenish iron stores and increases red blood cell levels in the body. It has ferrous gluconate, a type of iron salt which allows better absorption of iron in the body, Folic acid, and vitamin B12 which are vital for production of red blood cells and during pregnancy. It also contains Vitamin C which helps improve iron absorption, and Copper sulphate and manganese sulphate that helps in the metabolic processes of blood cell production.1

Recommended intake is one to two capsules daily, during or after meals, or as prescribed by your doctor.

As a blood health ally of many Filipinas, Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+) helps to treat iron deficiency anemia that can lead to decreased immunity and increased susceptibility to infection. Iron deficiency anemia happens when the blood has a lower amount of red blood cells or hemoglobin than normal. This can cause the body to feel weak, tired, dizzy, look pale, and experience headaches. 2

As the year 2020 draws to a close, Filipinos look forward to the positive changes that the new year will bring, especially in terms of their family’s health. Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+) helps motivated women keep their blood health in order and their immunity at its highest level, so they can continue to provide the treatment that their families need while still completing their daily tasks.

If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.

Grab expands its food and parcel delivery services, as well as its cashless payment services, to more Philippine areas

Grab, Southeast Asia’s most famous superapp, is expanding its food and parcel service, as well as cashless payment, services to more cities in the Philippines. Grab aims to make it easier for more Filipinos to get daily necessities, especially in light of the ongoing pandemic. Grab has been focusing on national expansion in the Philippines since launching GrabFood, GrabExpress, and GrabPay in Zamboanga in January 2021. Sta. Rosa, Laguna; Concepcion and Capas towns in Tarlac; General Santos City in South Cotabato; Legazpi, Albay; and Butuan, Agusan del Norte have all received services since then.

This month, the superapp plans to expand its presence in Zambales by launching GrabFood, GrabExpress, and GrabPay in the Subic Bay Freeport Region.

According to Cindy Toh, Head of Grab’s Cities and Expansion, “We’re pleased to make more services available to more cities across the Philippines. As part of our GrabForGood initiative, we’re committed to helping as many people as possible leverage our offerings to help them safely and easily purchase and pay for essential items, especially as they continue to face the challenges of the global pandemic. At the same time, we can empower Filipinos who need to maintain their livelihood by giving them opportunities to earn supplemental wages by joining our community of driver- and delivery-partners. Access to digital tools supports not just individuals but entire communities, and we’re excited to see the new cities we’re reaching- and those we will reach in the future- flourish with more opportunities and options for both workers and consumers.”

SMALL BUSINESS EMPOWERMENT Via ON-DEMAND FOOD AND PARCEL DELIVERIES

Rowena Aguilar, a Laguna-based entrepreneur, was instantly concerned about the future of her company when news of the government’s enforcement of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) emerged last year. She used to distribute her custom handicrafts to different vendors in and around Sta. Rosa on a regular basis before the pandemic, but the quarantine restricted her capacity to do so. She was also concerned about her personal safety, even after the constraints were relaxed, due to the rise of COVID-19..

However, when Grab expanded to Sta. Rosa, Rowena was able to resume her business, leveraging Grab’s safe and fast deliveries to meet client demand. “I was able to breathe a sigh of relief because I was able to fulfill my handicrafts orders without delay, and without worries. It was also more convenient because customers were able to digitally pay for their orders in advance,” she said.

Rowena is one of thousands of small businesses and customers who have benefited from Grab’s cities expansion.

With communities still coping with the effects of the pandemic, consumers can rely on Grab for these essential services:

  • GrabFood: Enjoy a wide selection of cuisines (including homegrown and local favorites) and have them delivered right to your doorstep anytime thanks to Grab’s fast and reliable delivery service. You can also look for sulit, affordable meals that you can enjoy year-round.
  • GrabExpress: Send gifts or parcels to friends and family using the app’s reliable and secure delivery options.
  • GrabPay: Whether you need to order food or make quick parcel deliveries, you can use Grab’s in-app digital wallet for your payments. GrabPay can also be used in-store at partner merchants such as SM, Starbucks, Uniqlo, and Ace Hardware. GrabPay is accepted at thousands of merchants nationwide. As an added bonus, each transaction earns reward points that can be redeemed for store discounts and selected vouchers.

With his latest single ‘Stop,’ AJ Mitchell is poised for stardom

Gold-certified pop phenom AJ Mitchell has released a new single called “STOP,” which adds to his immersive sonic world. The song is the next chapter from his eagerly anticipated full-length debut album, Skyview, which is set to be released this year and executive produced by Mike Dean.

A thumping bass line and a flurry of funk guitar are combined with a show-stopping vocal performance in this track. He delivers enthralling verses before launching into the hook, “I don’t want to stop, baby it’s our time.”

“STOP” continues the journey that was set in “CAMERAS ON,” released late last Month. The conceptual lyric video shared today picks up where “CAMERAS ON” left off. While “CAMERAS ON” depicts the story of AJ dealing with the darker sides of fame and his previous experiences with the content collective Team 10, the new lyric video finds him walking away from the cameras to the stage, depicting his passion and dedication to the music and what truly matters.

With all of the songs released from Skyview thus far, we’ve seen AJ Mitchell truly coming into his own, showcasing his knack for great storytelling.

“When you listen to the album, I want you to feel nostalgic,” AJ says. “It really takes me home. At the same time, I want you to know more about who I am. Talking to the camera is unnatural for me. The best way for everybody to understand me is through my songs. I’m still just a kid who lives his life through music. There’s not a single day I don’t think about it or don’t want to run to my guitar, my piano, or my notepad and start writing.”

AJ Mitchell has steadily asserted himself as pop’s most charismatic new leading man since his debut in 2018. He surpassed the 1-billion stream mark on Spotify in just three years, averaging over 7 million monthly listeners. He was named a Vevo LIFT artist and an MTV Push artist, and he was named to Variety’s “Young Hollywood” 2020 list. In addition to receiving praise from Billboard, Idolator, Highsnobiety, and Seventeen, he gave standout performances at the MTV Video Music Awards, as well as on The Today Show and Good Day New York. The gold-selling title track “Slow Dance” [feat. Ava Max] from his Slow Dance EP was released in 2019. So far, he’s had four songs in the Top 40 at Pop Radio, including the latter. He’s also established himself as a reliable partner, recently collaborating with Cheat Codes on “Hate You + Love You.” He also worked with Elle Henderson, Steve Aoki, Captain Cuts, and others in 2020. He spent the previous year putting together his full-length debut Skyview, with legendary Mike Dean serving as Executive Producer.
